This Fox News commentary segment analyzes the Democratic Party's 2024 election defeat, arguing that the loss was primarily due to policy failures including high gas prices, immigration issues, and economic mismanagement, rather than ideological problems. The hosts discuss the 'autopsy' report revealing that the White House failed to position Kamala Harris effectively as vice president, and critique the party's reliance on identity politics and urban strongholds. The segment also covers the debate over Shot Spotter gunshot detection systems in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where activists opposed the technology citing privacy concerns and potential overpolicing of minority communities, while the hosts argue that such systems save lives by enabling faster police response to actual gun violence.

Fox News Highlights - May 21st, 2026Added:
All right, the press wants you to believe that Democrats are on a glide path to winning the majority. And to be clear, the GOP has some ground to make up right now. In the RCP average, in the generic ballot, Democrats are up 7.1%.
By comparison, at this time in 2022, the last midterm, which was during Biden, the GOP was up by 2.1, but Republicans ended up netting just nine seats in the House, and they lost one in the Senate.
But here's the rub. The current deficit for Republicans is mostly attributable to one issue, and it's temporary. Gas prices. The war in Iran will be over soon, and energy costs will come down.
And Republicans on the trail will remind voters that when Democrats were in charge, they loved high energy prices and wanted actually to phase out gas-powered cars altogether. Biden's flunkies only cared about gas prices and so they drained the strategic petroleum reserve. Remember that? When they realized that the issue was hurting Biden politically.
But now fast forward to today and this White House can point to numerous domestic policy successes. Broader enforcement, unleashing the energy sector, of course, reducing drug prices, no tax on tips and overtime obviously on immigration. huge wins there today. Even with the war in Iran, the growth for Q2 was revised upward by the Atlanta Fed GDP now model from 3.99% that's in real GDP to 4.26% due to what even during the war an improving Trump economy.
But what do the Democrats have to run on other than of course hating Trump? And how do you heal a wounded party when it's afraid to know why it got clobbered in 2024? Even by the way, when they commissioned a professional autopsy, will you ever release that autopsy?
>> None of us have a time machine. We can't go back and change the past. And so trying to relitigate the 2024 election takes us away from actually our focus on 2026 and 2028. We're not going to go backwards. As much as some folks want to relitigate the 2024 election, I'm not one of them.
>> Okay, that was embarrassing. And then today came the DNC chairs about face. He says he didn't want to create a distraction with the report, but inadvertently created a bigger one by not releasing it. I'll say, and here's the report in a nutshell. It wasn't their horrid ideas that sunk them. It was basically a PR problem. Page 31. The White House didn't give Kamla more opportunities to shine for three and a half long years. Uhhuh. Right. And remember, remember her word salads in Europe. Then page 40, right-wing media outlets essentially had them cornered and outsmarted.
Page 71, more could have, should have, would kla. They said the White House did not position or prepare the vice president. Had the White House explored and evaluated uh ways to leverage Kla Harris earlier in the administration, perhaps it would have improved the president's standing and it certainly could have helped prepare her to lead the ticket. Okay, let me just tell you the reason they didn't put Kamla out is because she was terrible. Okay, that's why they didn't put her out on TV more.
That's why they didn't want to give her any real issues to handle except the border, which obviously didn't work out.
So, no wonder they didn't want to release this autopsy. It was embarrassing. Now, Kamla got smoked not just because of her annoying cackle, but of course because of the administration, its policies failed across the board.
The economic, the human, the cultural toll was devastating. 25 million illegals, countless terrorists and vicious felons were allowed in an endless flow of deadly drugs. Of course, the extended pandemic lockdowns, disaster, runaway inflation from all the additional COVID spending, all the other infrastructure spending. Thank you, Senator Kennedy. Now, the Afghanistan pull out. I mean, we could do a whole show just on Biden's failures. But today, one Democrat was more on point.
>> An autopsy is a medical procedure you do over a corpse. And now it sounds like we need a malpractice attorney because we couldn't even do the autopsy correctly.
We know how we got here. It was the the Joe Biden issue at the debate. It was the switch over to Kamla without a process. A and at the end of the day, Democrats weren't talking enough uh about affordability in the economy. The fact that we can't even tell people why we're too afraid to tell them the truth.
They know the truth. They saw the debate. They saw what happened, right?
And they saw that we got killed in the election. We lost every swing state.
They can write whatever document they want, but Democrats know why we lost.
>> Yeah. Well, he almost got there, but certainly more on point than the autopsy. and Obama's former right-hand man, he's not stupid.
>> The country wanted to fire the administration. They were angry about uh inflation, about the border. Trump seized on those issues and she was the number two person in that uhation. The Democratic party can't survive as a party of blue blue metropolitan islands on an ocean of red.
>> Okay, their ideas were stupid. That's why they lost. They didn't work. They flooded the country with illegals, terrorists, criminals, pedophiles, all the rest. Okay? But the squad and the hardcore activists, the ones who show up in the streets, the agitators, they haven't learned a thing. You can use identity politics, quote unquote, as a kitchen table issue, right? When you talk about whether or not people can have access to healthy abort, safe abortions, that is a kitchen table issue, right? Whether or not a trans kid can get the services they need, that is a kitchen table issue for families.
>> Yeah, sweetie. Stick with that. You go right ahead. Please do. By all means, trans is a kitchen table issue.
The truth, as much trouble as Republicans seem to be in, and it's temporary, voters still hate congressional Democrats, look at these numbers. They're 52 points underwater.
They're even down nine among their own voters. And let's face it, everything liberals have run. Have they dominated?
It's wrecked. Urban life, the public schools, the universities, the entertainment industry, NOS, of course, the border wrecked that. Even some churches ruined by identity politics.
Forget even the military. Recruiting cratered as Trump pointed out yesterday at the Coast Guard Academy before Trump was sworn in last year, plummeting. Now they they don't even have enough spaces for the people who want to be in the military. So in the end, the autopsy was so bad for the Democrats, this is what the conclusion stated.
Nothing. It's like their accomplishments. Zero. And that's exactly what they seem to have learned.
Nothing. And that's the angle.
Yes.
Yes.
I know. I know. I know.
>> I would feel the same way if I were you.
Good evening, everyone. And well, the Trump administration has created a $1.7 billion fund to compensate victims of the Biden White House, but so far the only plaintiffs are 300 Somalians from Minnesota.
The granddaughter of Italian dictator Bonito Mussolini won Italy's version of Celebrity Big Brother. Coming in second, Cindy Hitler.
>> Nice girl. Good girl, Cindy.
>> Good girl. A fully loaded septic truck was obliterated when a freight train plowed through it at a railroad crossing, coating the area in human waste.
>> In a related story, Bruce Springsteen's new album has been delayed by a month.
>> Oh boy. Meanwhile, a water treatment plant spilled 30,000 gallons of sewage into a Long Island waterway, which means Maroon 5's album has also been delayed by a month.
TWO UP THE SAME HOLE. TWO UP THE same hole.
>> Two birds, one stone.
>> A cult leader has been indicted on charges for controlling followers through fear, forced labor, and sex. And he now faces three counts of impersonating a wife.
Yeah. Oh, terrible.
Women are clapping. The women are clapping. Heavy rainfall led to flash flooding in New York City Wednesday night. To keep from getting washed away, Mayor Mom Donnie urged New Yorkers to lash themselves to Joy Behar.
Today is the 92year anniversary of Amelia Heheart becoming the first woman to fly solo nonstop across the Atlantic.
Wow. Good for her. And you know, I can't wait to see what she does with the Pacific >> cuz she didn't come back.
>> She's not back yet.
>> No, she's not back.
We'll keep a line on for >> Yeah. Hakeim Jeff has called for black athletes to boycott SEC schools in states that pursued redistricting.
Oh no, don't do that. Said soon to be Kentucky starting center Eugene Bombgartner.
He's a scorer.
Finally, a US nuclear fusion firm has built a 48tonon vacuum, and it's so powerful it can get all the hair off Rashidita Tiv's couch.
>> Would have accepted back.
So, so a city near Boston just got rid of a deadly threat that's been terrorizing residents for years. And it's not Elizabeth Warren drunk on another homemade stash of firewater.
The Cambridge City Council just voted to shut down Shot Spotter, the gunshot detection system, a network of microphones, sensors, and software that detects gunfire and alerts police before shooters disappear. which beats the old system trying to plug your own bullet hole with discarded bubble yum.
But activists said no enough. Not because it didn't work, because it did.
>> This puts black and brown communities in Cambridge in very real danger.
>> This means that BIPAC members of the Cambridge community are more likely to be recorded by Shot Spotter and thus are more vulnerable to potential abuses of the data and recordings collected by the company as well as dangerous overpolicing.
Surveillance does not equal safety. We do not need microphones on top of buildings listening to every loud noise in the vicinity and sending in police in order to be safe.
>> Who knew bipac were such gangsters?
>> Who are these fruit cakes? Who put these laidoff carnival workers in charge? The danger these idiots lecture us about isn't the ones outside their home. The bullets, the guns, the criminals, they harm the same communities these claim to protect. Luckily for these morons, a bullet to the head won't make them any dumber.
>> But did you voice your anger?
>> I voiced my anger here in April about this intrusive system. I do not consent for my vulnerable neighbors in our welcome community sanctuary city to be at risk. And to make sure we hear from neighbors more directly impacted than I am, I will also be sharing a recorded note from a Putnham Gardens resident.
He's unable to be here, but feels that Shot Spotter surveillance puts him and his family at risk.
>> Somebody press one for English.
That was pretty good. That was pretty good. That was pretty good. So once again, these creeps aren't concerned citizens. They aren't at risk families ducking from gunfire, putting cages on their windows. No, they're far removed from reality of any daily life. They live in their heads. The professional, entitled, arrogant activists whose destructive nature would rather put others at risk. Safety is not their goal. Feeling superior is, and they're willing to let bullets fly, criminals go free, and people die. They say Shot Spotter leads to overpolicing for black and immigrant communities. Oh, you mean where the majority of shootings happen?
You're right. Let's use shot spotters in whiter places like Newton and Brooklyn.
But then you'd call that racist, too.
Why do they get all that help? But like Judge Janine used to say, if you want privacy, shoot people in your own home.
They also claim more police responses means more minorities getting stopped, which poses a safety risk to residents.
But which ones exactly? Just last week, this maniac in Cambridge opened fire on cars with an assault rifle. He had drug charges, armed robbery charges, recently tried to kill cops in 2020. That's who these smug narcissists are protecting by trying to ban something that helps actual people, not phonies like them.
And it does help in high crime neighborhoods where people don't call 911. One study found that 88% of gunshots picked up by sensors weren't reported to 911 because the people are too scared to. So, Shot Spotter removes the human element. It's just recordings like a surveillance camera. Evidence, fewer bodies will bleed out. But according to these douchebags, the real victim isn't the person dodging gunfire.
It's the fictional overpoliced. So, I ask, who ever claims they're overpoliced? A guy running a store? A woman on the bus riding home from work late at night? Hell, the only people who claim they're overpoliced are Sting's kids.
Nice.
>> Wow. I didn't expect that, but I'll take it. Thank you so much. And this insanity spreads to other blue cities. Mayor Brandon Johnson got rid of the system despite Chicago being responsible for more coffin sales than a coffin saleswoman with big tits.
True, Shot Spotter can make mistakes.
Sometimes they detect fireworks, a car backfiring, and angry readers slamming Jesse Waters book closed in disgust.
But worst comes to worse is that nobody's shot, and the police can get back to making up excuses to frisk me.
But effectiveness doesn't matter. Shot Spotter could be 100% effective and they'd call it racist. Fact is, they aren't happy murderers are being stopped. They're mad that most of the murderers aren't white. And the people paying the price aren't these city council dopes. It's the people who just want to be safe and for them getting shot is the least of their problems.
It's these gas bags bent on making sure that they do.
>> She tells her husband, "Not tonight, honey. I'm giving you a headache."
Outnumbered co-host Emily Kano.
They say black don't crack, but people who find him funny smoke it. Comedian Gerro Small probably >> in his high school yearbook. The quote was, "I had no idea she was my cousin."
Comedian Jim Florentine.
And if he was on the Titanic, the iceberg would have moved. former NBA world champion, host of plant tires.
Emily, I chose this story because I believe there is a a reoccurring disconnect between these people on the council and the actual citizens of a town that nobody in the who work for a living, you know, gets rides the bus complains about overpolicing, but it's these kind of like perennial uh uh studentrained activists that complain about these things because they have no connection with reality.
>> Yeah. And I see two distinctions. M >> besides reality and fantasy obviously here that in one scenario that these freaks are putting forth it's all potential it's all hypothetical the potential for over surveillance the potential for bipox to be harmed the potential for somehow our conversations to be picked up that's not what this is as you pointed out any type of noise that has been mistaken for gunfire sounds really close to it like a car backfiring and and and fireworks like we're not talking about Jerry Nadler's farts but for For some reason, these guys have made it about their illegal immigrant neighbors or people of color.
And then here's the second distinction of reality and fantasy there is that they are now rendering more vulnerable exactly the people they pretend to protect because the victims statistically are always higher in black and brown communities. So the reality is that as you pointed out, 911 doesn't get called all the time. This Shot Spotter enables police to respond faster than normal even what with a call. And if there isn't a call and then statistically the black and brown individuals that are disproportionately the victims of gun violence get saved, get treated. But now because this will be removed, those white bipok carnival freaks will now render more dangerous and more hurt all of these people that they pretend. And that's why the real victims and the real members of those communities are out at work or exhausted at home not giving a about this city council meeting. M >> Sherrod, that's a lovely jacket.
>> Thank you. I got it from your your dad.
>> He's a good dude. He's a good dude.
>> Yeah, he's a good dude. He's dead. Been dead for a long time.
>> You need the jacket.
>> But you know what? You you still broke in and you stole it. So I love I like that about you.
>> Well, make coffins with a lock on it.
>> He was cremated, but I can still see the ashes. All right. E, >> when I was listening to this, I was so surprised that there were bipac people concerned about like being arrested for gunfire, you know, bipac. There lot do you know a lot of bipac gangsters being an African-American?
>> No, not since I left college.
>> Yeah.
>> But Shot Spotters, what who's running this, Greg? It seem like some nosy white people.
>> Yes.
>> With microphones >> and black people, too.
>> They nosy. Have they stopped people like committing crimes? Like, do they show go to court and say, "Here, here's a sound of a gunshot. Guilty."
>> No, they get there faster in case there's an injury. Are you against that?
>> I I don't I want to know who's listening to the noises. Who's in there like this?
Go get them CUZ THAT MATTERS.
>> NO, IT'S LIKE surveillance cameras.
Who's watching them?
>> But it's one thing to see something and another thing to hear it and you just going to assume that it's gunfire.
>> No, I think what it is, okay, it's like a machine and people ARE WORKING.
WHERE'S THAT? OH, IT'S OVER THERE. We might go over there. Maybe there's somebody shot. Well, you lost me at machine, Gregory.
I ain't trust a machine since Rosie from the Jetsons.
>> I don't tr I mean, >> I know you don't like anything.
>> First of all, I like that the all the white people was at the hearing. Yeah.
>> And then that one Spanish dude, he's like, I can't go there. I got to work.
I'll call y'all.
>> Who's the real hero?
Jim, uh, are you against Shot Spotter because it could really ruin a good drug deal that you're participating in?
>> I didn't even think about that yet. That could be a problem. But I mean, it's given the heads up that there might be shots fired.
>> And let's cut to the chase. Most like mass shooters are white.
>> Thank you.
>> So they're Yeah, >> I said it. But so they're they're okay with a white person going into a community with a bunch of minorities and shooting them up and giving them the head start. Yeah. And then they also said they're afraid of because the microphones, you know, it's an invasion of privacy. They might pick up conversations and ICE might be listening in. So it's a sanctuary city, so it might pick up illegals. Like illegals are going on top of the building into a microphone going, "Hey, Ice, catch me if you can." That's hilarious.
>> But I just want TO KNOW HOW >> NOBODY'S that interesting, Jim. Nobody wants to listen to your conversations.
>> And I don't think a microphone on the top of buildings is going to pick up chatter on the street below. Yeah. And that's what they're worried about. Yeah.
And how is it how is it racist? Because I mean, can you tell the difference between a black gunshot and a white gunshot?
>> You know, you can gun when it's black.
>> Well, maybe the white gunshot.
>> You know that.
>> And the white gunshot wouldn't have any rhythm. SO, that's >> We can't do anything, can we? Dyrus.
>> Yo.
>> All right. Give me your wisdom. Can I just point out one thing that I forgot your show?
>> Yes.
>> I like how they were speaking for the consent of others.
>> Yeah. I love how they It's always the the weirdest, gayest looking white people who defend us. And I I would just like to say, please stop.
>> Yeah.
>> Is they're so racist. And what they're doing is they're saying, look, it's not fair that you're looking in because all the brown and black people are criminals. It's not fair. You're interrupting the what the what what we do best apparently shoot and rob each other and you're taking away our rights.
They It's not um Gad said suicidal empathy. It's stupid empathy. They protect things that they themselves wouldn't put themselves in. If you told them, "Okay, we'll take everything out >> and we'll put you guys at a picnic table and and you guys can just talk to everybody when they're acting out."
>> They would be murdered, robbed in a within minutes of being out there. They never ever really talk about anything that's real. It just sounds good. And they also come from this thing where all these individuals that do this speaking.
They record everything they do in their life.
>> Yes.
>> They have this narcissistic thing that they think every time they speak, everybody stops to hear them. Nobody cares about how painful your nose ring was. You know what I'm saying? Like or the fact that mom didn't put anything on your card. So there's this group of people who think their entire life is filters and social medias to audiences of like six or seven people and four are family members. They think that everything they do is so magnified and they don't really have any any real fear because they don't experience it. The most dangerous thing they did was go into that courtroom to speak.
>> Mhm.
>> And until they get put in real life situations, they freaking panic and the first thing they do is we're the police.
>> Yeah.
>> So it's just it's just ass backwards.
Don't help. Yeah.
>> Stick to your your selfies and your your complaining about the president being alive videos on Instagram.
>> Yeah. All right.
