How I'm Making Memberships Better with Patreon!
Added:If you've been a member of my digital art community over the last few years, you know the drill. Each month I share batches of new content on my website.
You access the content using a monthly password, which is announced on Patreon.
While the previous system worked for a time, it has become cumbersome. By leveraging several new membership features, I am refreshing the experience to eliminate hurdles like extra passwords and disorganized playlists when searching for software tutorials.
After spending recent months refining how I deliver brushes, videos, and other member-exclusive materials, I'm excited to announce an upgrade to my membership structure.
These changes are designed to benefit everyone, from long-time supporters and former members to free members.
Moving forward, I have consolidated everything into one streamlined home base, Patreon. But this isn't the old Patreon chronological feed that was difficult to navigate. I've utilized their new collections feature to build dedicated hubs for brushes, reference images, layered art, and everything else I offer. If you are a Krita user looking for brushes, you go to the brushes collection and choose Krita as your software. Instantly, you are taken to the download link for my Krita brushes.
If you want Rebelle videos, my playlists are all sorted by software and labeled to make it easier to find what is relevant to you.
As you can see, I offer content for Krita, Rebelle, Procreate, Corel Painter, Photoshop, and Fresco. There's even a bit of content for Clip Studio Paint, ArtRage, and other apps, too.
But regardless of which tools you use, there is a wealth of universal digital art content that is not specific to any one software.
You can study layered PSD files of my artwork and get creative with a library of royalty-free images.
While some benefits like behind-the-scenes photos are hosted exclusively on Patreon, most of the content is organized on my website to to it easier to navigate through.
The member page on my website lists everything in categories with monthly posts that summarize what's new.
I also post the monthly recap on Patreon.
As I mentioned earlier, there will be no more monthly passwords. Simply being logged in to your Patreon account is the only key you need to automatically unlock my website's member pages.
If the content requires you to be on a higher tier, you'll see a notification.
Once you are logged in, you will stay logged in unless you clear your browser information.
It's as simple as going to the member page and selecting what you want.
Your downloads will happen directly from my Dropbox.
It's much cleaner and faster than how things worked before.
I do want to emphasize that you do not need a Dropbox account to access the files. You can simply continue to download to skip creating an account.
You can download each individual file one at a time or download entire folders at once in a zip file.
Here's another important change. Instead of posting everything in one lump each month, I am now posting weekly to spread the work out. When I release new content, you can get an email or app notification through Patreon.
If you'd rather wait till the end of the month to grab everything at once, you can do that as well.
New content will be sorted into collections on Patreon and on the members page of my website to make it easy to locate.
Any categories with new content will have a new icon next to it.
If you are a former member, but you became frustrated with Patreon, I hope you'll give it another chance. The new features they have added really make a difference, and it should be much clearer how to find what you're looking for.
I've also restructured the tiers to make them much more accessible, no matter what your budget is.
Previously, I just had one tier, but I've brought back multiple tiers.
First, the $5 tier.
This is perfect if you just want to be a part of the community and grab a few extras. You can access reference image packs, vote on upcoming videos, get early access to new videos, and enjoy behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
There are also members-only rooms where you can discuss art, share your work, and participate in monthly art prompts.
The $9.99 tier was built for those who want to dig into my projects. You'll get raw, real-time process videos, layered artwork files, access to my YouTube archive, infographics and slides, and promo codes to get a deep discount on my paid courses, and other products.
As a bonus, higher tiers get access to the lower tier content as well.
The $19.99 premium tier unlocks the entire vault. In addition to the previous tiers' content, you'll get a massive catalog of brushes, long-format lesson archives, and the monthly live work sessions where you can watch me create and ask direct questions.
There's even a free tier which gives you access to my YouTube video recaps, resources for following my YouTube tutorials, and other bonus content.
You may have noticed that I also offer memberships that are built into YouTube.
These are just an additional way to support my individual channels, and they only provide YouTube-specific benefits, not any of the content I offer on Patreon.
Thank you all for being such an incredible part of this digital art community. Your support and creativity are what drives me to keep producing new content, and I'm truly grateful to have you on this journey with me.
I am incredibly excited about this new streamlined experience on Patreon. By moving to the collections hub and simplifying the login process, I've removed the clunky barriers of the past, making it faster and easier than ever for you to find the specific brushes, videos, and resources you need for your software.
Whether you want to grab the basics or dive into the full vault, there is now a place for everyone.
I encourage you to head over to patreon.com/aaronrutten today, explore the new hubs, and choose the membership tier that fits your creative goals and budget best. I can't wait to see what you create with these new tools.
