[00:00:05]>> What followed was 39 minutes that would change the city forever. The storm moved east-southeast at roughly 20 to 25 miles per hour. Fast enough to outrun a car on a debris-filled street. Slow enough to spend a devastating amount of time directly over populated areas. It strengthened rapidly as it crossed into the city, tearing through Cunningham Park on the western edge before entering one of the most densely populated residential corridors in Joplin. The neighborhoods between 26th Street and 20th Street were swept clean from their foundations.
