[00:00:12]So the Africa Forward Summit and um it was a very interesting one because a lot of African leaders ended up attending and I keep talking about one guy who I did not expect to attend of course uh the president of Sagal but he ended up attending and the reason why I didn't expect him to attend was the fact that Macron Alana attend and the two of them have like a sort of what can I like interesting history where they've not always gotten along in the way they should. Why?

[00:00:48]campaign like one of the things military presence the French military inside and he said that they'd have to move out that makes him not feel like sagal is a sovereign country and you have to remember like for some time according to African countries fully sovereign we can be recolonized and we can be recolonized because we do not have the military like power to defend ourselves.

[00:01:19]But now on top of that, try and imagine if there's a base like going to happen in Iran where America had bases in uh what is it called like in these Middle Eastern countries and they'd attack Iran from there. So now try and imagine if they have a military base in your own country, they can attack you from your own country. So that's one of the things was not happy with and I think July 2025 the last like French military facility closed down and they handed over the facility themselves of course.

So I'm talking about this because I don't know if it's white supremacy and but there's one thing that has happened to us as Africans.

[00:05:48]So every time there's a certain meeting like whatever happened where there were 30 African leaders and there was one French leader a lot of us will assume that the Africans had to submit and it's something that's ingrained in us and there's a certain level of inferiority complex that we have that we'll never acknowledge. This is the reason why drive around Katyattow and you look at a matu and the matu has a white image of Christ you'll never question it. Why?

I decided to approach it and just listen and see like which ideas were being exchanged and what was being said. And I'd say that it was a very interesting uh speech. But one of the things that stood out of course was the youth and the fact that was not that was uh Dumaboko was being asked about the youth and if he has a message for the youth and if you've heard me talk about this I always have a problem with your story. Do you have a message for the youth? Cuz that's what makes the youth uh be treated like children. This is what makes these Kenyan leaders to be able to wake up and be like and they treat adults like children and these children end up believing that they're children and they end up now believing in dumb where if a president speaks in sh if the president dances oh if a governor does this go oh he relates to us and they're left in this cycle where they behave like children and without behavior children they also want participation trophies and they want to always be coddled and told what they want to hear and we don't then tell don't tell them what they want to hear they start throwing tantrums and um I think we need to move away from that we need to reach a level I always joke with my kid um I turn 11 last week I always joke with her do you know in 7 years time at exactly 1:15 15 a.m. you're going to be 18 years old and you're going to move out cuz you're going to be an adult. And when she hears that she loses a joke, but one of the things why I keep putting that in her mind is I want by the time 18 he realize she's an adult.

[00:09:42]She's still my kid, but she's an adult.

[00:09:44]I want her to behave like an adult. I don't want her to start trusting someone because I'm dance. I'm do the newest challenge cuz that's childish. And I don't even want them to be a place the youth problem. I want them to approach life like you know right now I'm an adult and I need to reason like an adult. I need this, I need that. I don't want to be treated like a child.

[00:10:09]And uh so yeah, but Dumaboko alco asked about uh history of the African youth problem and I think he answered it in the most political way possible but still in a very reasonable way.

Um so yeah you have to grab and you have to grab your moment right now but maybe only two African leaders which other leaders showed up of course that's from Nigeria a clown so Paul Kagame with Kagami I'm always conflicted one side I understand what he's trying to do and what he's trying to achieve I can see the amount of order that he's brought to Rwanda. My problem with Kagami is always I always wish he had a thicker skin and with that he does not need to throw everyone in jail that criticizes him. if there was a way he could handle that and if he throws them in jail I'd want a situation whereby if they leave the country does not follow them up the situation where they even tricked some like lecturer Rwanda and he stayed in prison for 5 years and the US government had to pressure Rwanda to release him. Those are the things that I have a problem with Kagami. But I understand, do I think that he's doing some good stuff?

H so Liberia, can't remember that dude Leon Alanara of course super clown um was rigged out and after being rigged out he refused to handshake and the country went into basically civil war. Bagbo.

So, so there was that and uh then of course the Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo which is basically just Congo, Djibouti, Comos, Moritania, uh Gabon, Central African Republic, all these presidents were there. Then Pia and Prince and Principe, Libya, Libya, of course, Silon, the president of the presidential council. Libya has never gone back to what it was after Kagami's death. And uh Kagami's death is one of the stories that also teach us that democracy is not always the solution. Um and when we are wrong, we wrong.

[00:17:14]uh think so yes all those people are in attendance so and then this guy decided to talk about nafad yes what Africa requires today friends is not charity but investment not extraction but value creation not dependency but mutually beneficial partnerships capable of unlocking shared prosper Erity NAFAD according to President R is designed to unlock long-term domestic institutional capital by creating credible project pipelines harmonizing investment frameworks and strengthening regional capital markets. The president touting Kenya's national infrastructure fund which he says is already transforming the country. Our new national infrastructure fund has mobilized approximately $1 billion in the last four months, demonstrating the enormous potential that exists within African economies themselves.

[00:18:21]Demonstring. Okay. Demonstrating. Um, of course, so it means nothing. I'm just pointing it out showing that the dude was nervous. So he could not point out the words. um you come to this thing about $1 billion. H I think the problem and what I've heard from legislators when they talk about the your national infrastructure fund is the fact that hyena like what is it? Uh there's no way to scrutinize it. It's been built outside the frameworks of the things that are in the Kenyan law. So that means that it can be misused. So for him to thump his chest with that is still one of those things where you're like ah you should not be thumping your chest with this.

[00:19:06]But to if I was to go back to the point does Africa need a different way their investments and what yes Africa needs that we need to move away from using very exorbitant and very exploitative terms and that's why Africa needs to wake up and be like you know what we can do this thing our own way and Africa needs to come up with its own way I think like one of the most interesting things last year economy and explain like if China is a capitalist or communist country all the examples that show that it's a capitalist country and then all the examples that show that it's not a a capitalistic that is capitalistic country and uh It's more of a communist country. So, I found that to be interesting and it made me think, what if Africa could come up with its own way? We can't do everything the way that's done in the Western world cuz one of the things that we've realized is it's not working out. We need to come up with our own way. But will we >> the head of state further calling for African solutions to funding infrastructure projects without borrowing? The era in which Africa's development was principally framed through aid, dependency, and unsustainable borrowing must give way to a new paradigm grounded in investment, innovation. President Rut also lamented what he termed an unfair international financial system, saying African countries had faced disproportionately high borrowing costs and constrained access to concessional financing.

[00:20:56]um koshan banks banks will give people who they think will repay the loan at very low rates and they give people who they think high risk at higher rates. Uh that's why like even banks and I think even that happens in Kenya where people who take loans that are unsecured it at a higher rate than people who take loans against something else. So there's that incentive of you paying back the debt.

[00:21:26]So with that why the the rates Africa is looked at because of the corruption African countries lack a certain level of stability cuz an election can happen and the whole country turns into Why? If the leader decides he's not going, he's not going who decided to turn into some So that that happens with African countries where they decide we are going to do uh and one person decides that his interests and his ambitions are greater than the country itself. So yeah I guess that's why Africa itself needs to come up with solutions and maybe through these solutions on if there's an instability of this and this and this country will suffer the consequences. Um but will we do that? I don't think so.

[00:22:22]>> Our objective is simple. To create credible mechanisms through which private capital can participate securely and profitably borrowing and u the funny thing is Kenya keeps borrowing. Remember that's was one of his greatest criticisms ofu was thaturu keeps borrowing. Huru keeps borrowing. Then he may go a chance and he's borrowing every day day and night and spending on What do I mean by Spending on things like repairing state house is spending billions there. State house is uh itself has like this ridiculous budget where um in 3 years it spent more than Uru spent in 9 years. So what's going to happen in the next uh whatever even one and a half years by next year's elections? Is that one and a half? That's 1 year and 3 months. Like what's going to happen by then?

That is the money you have actually come to negotiate in Nairobi.

So I still keep calling it out the cancel culture. It came in front where artists got number to cancel artists for having dinner.
