An hour to Ekiti State where the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Joseph Anifowoshe, has announced his withdrawal from the governorship race, promising to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji. He made the disclosure in Ikede-Ekiti during Governor Oyebanji's campaign tour in Ijero and Ikole local government areas of the state. Adedayo Adeyemi has more.

The atmosphere in Ikede-Ekiti was already electric with the governor's campaign tour, but the crowd was shocked when Joseph Anifowoshe, the flag bearer of the Allied Peoples Movement, took the stage.
In a bold disclosure, Mr. Anifowoshe announced his immediate withdrawal from the governorship race. He told the cheering audience that his decision was born out of a realization that Governor Biodun Oyebanji has demonstrated genuine love for the Ekiti project. The state working committee meeting where all the the local government executives were directed, and it was publicly announced that they should go out and vote for Oyebanji as the the for his second time in office as the executive governor of Ekiti State. We can we can we cannot have it better than this. Governor Biodun Oyebanji told the people of Ijero and Ikole and Ekiti Southwest local government areas that his campaign is built on the solid road of performance. All those things you have seen us doing in Ekiti State, we have not we have not taken a loan to fund them.
Simply because Mr. President has provided enough for us.
A president that has done this for a people, the only way we can thank him is to go out on June 20 and ensure that we vote.
From township road rehabilitations to strategic support for local farmers, party stalwarts were full of appreciation for the governor's projects. The man has performed wonderfully well.
He has He has put all the people together.
In short, he has done everything that we need needed to do as a human being. He has done it just for the people to be at peace with each other.
But the ring road, you want to talk about innovation of hospitals, innovation of schools.
He is No No governor can do everything in 4 years. So, maybe that's why we are asking him to repeat the class.
He has brought everybody together, both different parties, both different individuals, different ideologies.
Everybody is on one page. And that alone has brought a lot of peace and stability to the state. As the rallies in Igede Ekiti concluded, the political landscape of the June 20 election appears significantly altered with one less opponent on the ballot and a new ally in the fold.
