[music] >> Good morning, Sims, and a very good morning to you all, and welcome to the weather desk. Clear conditions over the central and the western parts of the country, but we do start the day off with some morning fog patches along the escarpment of Limpopo, Mpumalanga, the interior of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as over the interior of the Western Cape as long as the coastal areas of the Western Cape and the Northern Cape. These areas have been reported where the visibility has been reduced to less than 1 km. This afternoon, light rain can also be expected over Limpopo, moving into the Lowveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga, as well as the northeastern corner of KwaZulu-Natal. The Gauteng province is expecting partly cloudy conditions for the afternoon. A relatively cool day across the province, where we are expecting a maximum of 21° for Johannesburg and Springs. Slightly warmer over the northern parts with Tshwane at a maximum of 22°. Those warm temperatures extend mostly into the Limpopo Valley, where we are seeing some cool temperatures though over the northern areas, where Musina is at 24°.
A cool day in Thohoyandou at a maximum of 19°. It will also be cloudy and cool over the central interior in the Polokwane district with a maximum of 18°. Morning fog patches along the escarpment of Mpumalanga. A cool day across the province, where we see Emalahleni at 20°, Standerton reaching a maximum of 22°. A cool day over the southeastern areas, where Mkhondo will reach a maximum of 22°. Some showers and rain over the Umkhanyakude district of KwaZulu-Natal, where it will be warm in Ulundi and Richards Bay at 25°. The entire province is cool with Kokstad at 22°. The Midlands slightly cooler with fog patches with a maximum of 24° in Pietermaritzburg. Mostly clear skies across the Eastern Cape for today with warm temperatures, where Robert Sobukwe is at 25°, while Engcobo will reach a maximum of 25°. Warm temperatures there at Qonce at 27°, while Gqeberha will reach a maximum of 28. Those morning fog patches and mist over the interior of the Western Cape this morning. It will clear to mostly partly cloudy conditions and clear skies by the afternoon. A warm day over the Northwestern areas where Vredendal is at 30, Clanwilliam reaching a maximum of 29. Cool temperatures there in places over the Garden Route where Mossel Bay is at 22, Cape Agulhas reaching a maximum of 19. Cool temperatures over the southern high ground of the Northern Cape with Sutherland at 21. But a warm day in the Namaqua district at a maximum of 26 in Springbok. It will be cool over the southeastern areas with Kimberley at 24, De Aar reaching a maximum of 22. Cool temperatures across the Free State province with clear skies throughout where Vilppunala and Ficksburg will be at 19, Bethlehem peaking at a maximum of 21. Cool temperatures over the city of roses with Bloemfontein at 21, Frelimo will reach a maximum of 23. The Northwest province expecting a drop in the temperatures today, mostly in the cool category where Rustenburg is at 24, Potchefstroom peaking at a maximum of 22 along with Klerksdorp. Partly cloudy conditions across the province with Tosca at a maximum of 23. And then a quick look at tomorrow's forecast where we are expecting just partly cloudy conditions over the northern northeastern areas, but then on Tuesday a cold front will brush over the southern parts bringing some rain and showers along the coastal areas of the Western Cape and Eastern Cape and adjacent interior. A drop in the temperatures coming in from Tuesday over the Western Cape and the Northern Cape.
