Oslo street's transformed into colourful gallery of graffiti art

[00:00:24]Meeting of Styles is the largest graffiti and street art network in in the world. So, we have like 2,000 members. So, they who are interested and have time for it, they are applying to come here. We had 140 applications and we pick out a good mix of of uh uh of people from all over the world.

[00:00:48]Girls, boys, and they come here for 3 days.

[00:00:52]Uh they start sketching up the first day and uh have to finish all their walls during these 3 days so we can show our gallery.

[00:01:15]Uh right now, I'm going to make some small small highlights like this is shining so everything be more realistic and more round. The sun is going to bounce so this sharp line here going to be even more sharp and the eye eyelids I'm going to work up a little bit on.

[00:01:56]So, originally competition here has a very big It's a very important for graffiti writers. There's always been lots of competition who paints the most, biggest, fastest, coolest stuff. But, this is a bit different. Here, we try more to include all kind of cultures, people, young, old. And this is more about exchanging [snorts] experiences, so we can go home with new with with new experiences and get inspired by new friends and making better art when we go home.

[00:02:49]>> They give you a wall or a canvas, so you can express yourself. You can do your art.

[00:02:55]You not in your in your town. You can do it around the world. And uh And uh give your culture to others and take culture from others.

[00:03:32]>> I do not have a can control or the ability to do these clean graphic classic tags that I I've always found really inspiring, but I can't really do it. So, it's so fun to get to just watch them work and get tips from them. So, hopefully, maybe I can broaden the horizon of what I can do.

[00:03:53]But I'm also very happy then to be placed in the middle of two classical OGs who do great great letters.

[00:04:23]>> Even though I've been painting for a long time, you still can learn new things cuz you know that a certain thing technique can be approached multiple ways. So seeing that seeing the artist work in person, you kind of see it like first hand, you know, whereas maybe in these YouTube videos that I was watching when I was younger, like the Meeting of Style videos, they it's like quick, you know, like quick little snippets of what people are painting. Here you get to see like the whole thing kind of come to life, you know, step by step cuz you're so close to them.

[00:05:22]>> Honestly, I think it's like about the community feeling for me.

[00:05:26]Like every time I'm in a space surrounded by artists, it's always this feeling of like we all know each other a little bit. Like we are all similar in a way, which I really enjoy. So >> Yeah, yeah.
