PUERTO RICO Is Better Than We Thought! 🇵🇷 (Arecibo, Manatí, Vega Baja & El Yunque)追加:
I want you.
Hello everyone once again from Puerto Rico. So, in our previous video, we filmed around the capital, San Juan, and today we've come to a municipality called Arisu.
We rented a car. So, originally, we thought it would be $40, but then there was lots of additional prices.
>> Yeah. Yeah. We were not expecting all the additional prices, so we had to pay $10 extra for the toll roads.
>> Toll roads. That's $10 extra per day.
And then also some kind of insurance thing that we didn't know we had to pay for. So even though I had my insurance from my credit card, but I had to pay some extra fee and it ended up being >> being 68 a day.
>> 68 US a day, but it's not that bad because we are sharing with Trevor and Anna. But it's not what we expected.
>> Yes. So the extra fee that we had to pay for insurance was for liability.
Apparently, if you don't have a document that specifies that it covers liability for Puerto Rico, they don't accept it.
So, that's why we had to pay for that.
But, we never have to do that in any other countries, not even in other places in the US. And we've come to a beach called Boza del Oispo. It's been raining pretty heavy. The forecast says that there might even be floods, so it's not going to look at its most beautiful.
Nice little entrance on this bridge.
Even on a bad day and on a Monday, there's still quite a lot of people here, though hanging around. So, this place is cool cuz it's like a natural pool. Along this coastline in this region, there's actually lots of little natural pools like this. You have these rocks protecting it.
So, nice and calm. If you can see back there, it's pretty rough.
>> Even in a cloudy day, the water looks really nice.
>> Yeah, it does. I probably when it's sunny gets like very wow very like the blue Caribbean turquoise color.
>> Yeah, you can tell it would be. Carol said wow cuz a big wave just slammed against these rocks. Get a better shot of the cliffs from up here.
That's what we're slamming. Look at that.
Yeah. So, that gives you an idea of just how much protection these rocks are giving for this little pool part.
Heat.
Heat.
There's also a nice lighthouse up there.
Looks like there's a trail you can do through those bushes to the top. Even more amazing coastal views.
That's a long way down. No way. Look at this. Like the rock actually goes underneath.
>> Maybe we're not safe here, Cal.
>> Yeah, I don't want to walk on the edge that thing. Yeah.
>> So, the other time that we visited Puerto Rico, we didn't really explore any of the northern coast. We did the islands, KBra, and Viecis and also the western coast. So, we hadn't seen any of these places.
Yeah. I just wish it was a sunny day.
This would be absolutely incredible.
So, we've driven about 10 minutes along the coast from that last beach and we're at a place called Quva Del Indio, the indigenous cave. Supposed to get some petetroglyphs here. I think pre-Colombian era, 500, 800 years old.
And it was $10 per person to enter. So the cave is also right on the coastline.
Pilgro danger. No swimming area. Yeah.
This is like identical to what we just walked on.
>> Yeah. Very sharpy types of rocks. That's why you need closed shoes like sneakers or trainers, whatever you call it.
>> Yeah. Yeah, I read in the reviews and the guy just told some other people that arrived to not wear flip flops.
It's like a big hole. You've also got to watch out where you're walking cuz look at this.
Oh my god.
You might actually die if you fell down that one. That's how steep it is. I think you would literally die. Yeah, definitely a sketchy place.
I think this one goes through. And then there's another hole in the ceiling, like a little beach there. And of course, we're still here with the delightful travelers, >> Trevor and Anna.
>> Hi.
>> I forgot to mention in the previous video that you actually got like a ferry from the Dominican Republic.
>> Yeah, we took a ferry from uh Sto.
Domingo to Old San Juan, which we didn't know you could do until about a year ago.
>> Ferry. Did you say that?
>> Overnight ferry about 11 hours. And what it is is almost like a is it 14 hours?
>> 14. It's like a It's almost like a party boat. It's like a Dominican party boat.
It's loud music. It's almost >> pans. It was a lot of fun. It was worth it. We knew we could fly here, of course, but we thought we'd try that route to see something different.
>> Yeah, it was worth it.
>> Yeah. So, this was that big hole that we could see before. Even this is like a cave underneath there. Yes. So, you can already see a petetroglyph there. It looks like the sun. So, that is the cave entrance. Look at that. It's absolutely tiny. Okay, Chris is going to be the first one.
>> Chris might be the only one who has a tight gap.
>> Oh, it was nice knowing you guys.
>> Bye.
>> Yeah, you just have to grab on here. Oh, you can grab my hand.
>> Yeah, it's way sketchier than I thought.
Here cuz look at that. Cow's coming through there. But you can just drop down here in a way. It's dark, too.
Yeah, Carol ended up aborting mission.
Oh, there's bats in here, too. Flying around. Whoa. Pretty close.
Yeah. So, I think sometimes people swim in here and then the cave goes down this way. Another pathway.
Yeah. I thought it would be more clear where you're supposed to go. So, there you can really see some amazing carvings.
So, as I mentioned before, like 500 to I think 800, 900 years old.
Pretty deep these ones.
And then a mini beach.
Wow, look at this part.
Got the window at the top.
Lots more carvings here.
Yeah, on this rock. They're absolutely everywhere on the side. I just came through too.
That's another cool one. Looks like that might be a face.
But yeah, they're everywhere. All this is designed. All the walls. That's a good carving. Still very deep. Got even more caves through here.
What is this way?
Oh, this is those like pits that you'd fall in from the top.
Yeah, another face right there.
So, this place doesn't only have the cave. The people that don't want to go into the cave can come for the natural arch views. Oh, that's a massive arch.
>> Yeah, but it looks like it's breaking.
>> Yeah, >> see.
>> Looks close to breaking.
I think the guy at the beginning mentioned there's also another one back there. So, yeah, we'll see. I remember on our first trip here, we went to that other amazing cave, too.
>> Yeah, I think it's called Quueva Ventana, which is like cave. No, window cave. Window Cave.
>> Window Cave. And I remember that time it was 2018, right? So, we hadn't uh been to Southeast Asia yet, but we knew that it would be our first stop in our full-time travel. And then we I remember we were talking like, oh, Southeast Asia is going to look a little bit like this because of the >> limestone cliffs.
>> Limestone cliffs. So, it's nice cuz now we've seen not just here, but over there as well in Southeast Asia.
Hey, hey, hey.
So, just behind that arch, look at these views. Crazy.
I bet somebody's done some cliff jumping from here once on a less rough day. But even back there, you can see some other arches, too. And here, there's like a nice little secluded beach.
Incredible coastline. Pretty wild.
>> Yeah, we were just saying it's like um a huge version of the one that we all saw at Angilla that we could go on, but you couldn't. Like, look at that.
>> Oh, wow.
I actually had no idea I was on top of that.
>> Yeah. So, Anna and Trevor have also been to Anguila, I think a few years before us, and they went to that orange arch there. When they went, they could walk along it, the top of it, but we weren't allowed to. Yeah. I think this is the best view. I imagine that this was also like a cave and then it collapsed.
That's probably pieces of the the ceiling.
Hey. Hey. Hey.
So now we're going to relax at the beach for a while. We've come to one called Ma Chikita.
So this is closer to San Juan now from where we were before. And once again, it's one of those kind of enclosed pools cuz of the rocks. Although the waves are still coming through this one. Still looks pretty powerful.
>> I don't think anyone's swimming at this one.
>> No, we were hoping to swim because it's hot now and the sun is out finally, but I think it's too rough. I think it will be too dangerous. Yeah, there's a guy over there.
We'll see if he gets wiped out or not.
If he can handle it, I can handle it.
That is like just a opening in the middle and it's coming through. This place looks really cool on the drone.
I'll get that out soon. Everything's looked cool on the drone so far in this video, I think. So, there's just one big problem. We just realized that there's sand flies here. So, I don't think we're going to be able to sunbathe. Oh, I really wanted to, but it's impossible.
We've been through that and it's always a pain cuz we get allergic and it lasts for like a week or two weeks.
>> Many days.
>> Itchy. Very itchy. It's not good.
>> Yeah. We need a beach with a lot of wind so they can't fly around.
>> Yeah. So, we ended up bailing on that beach. Just no chance with the sand flies. And we come to another one called Puto Noebo. Luckily, no sand flies so far. And it's almost like a twin beach cuz you have yet again another natural pool there. And then it bends around into this one, which is the open ocean.
Actually looks nicer than that other beach, too.
>> Yeah, it looks better for swimming cuz the other ones very rough and they're full of uh rocks.
But here is nice. Like I said, it's like two beaches and a swimming pool kind of thing in the middle.
>> Actually, three beaches cuz look, there's another one back there.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Yeah. The water here is completely still. That's the calmst of them all.
Oh, the temperature is great. It's nice and cool. It's actually more on the colder side, but yeah, real nice. I'm just happy that it became a nice sunny day. Really just thought it was going to be storms all day. That's what the forecast said. Flooding warning.
No flooding going on here.
>> Yeah, I'm sure somewhere there's a lot of rain.
>> We could see in the mountains, >> a few parts of the island.
>> And we just noticed that when the waves are crashing on the other side, sometimes there's like a waterfall that comes on this side. So, I'll show you that. Just got to head over there. sure that this place is packed on the weekends.
>> Yeah, I remember last time we were in Puerto Rico, every time we will go to a beach when it was like Sunday or Saturday, the beaches will be full and also everybody will be listening to music with their Bluetooth speakers.
>> Yeah, lots of ragon.
>> Yeah, >> someone's doing that right now. Can hear it.
>> Just like in Rio in Brazil, >> everybody does that.
Hey.
Hey. Whoa.
>> Whoa.
>> That was too powerful.
>> It literally pushed me away. I didn't know that much water came over the top.
And when it comes over the top, it lasts for ages.
It's like a 3minut permanent waterfall.
Heat. Heat.
So now we've come to the Eljunki rainforest which is actually free. It's about a 40minut drive east from San Juan where we've been staying. And we're starting off at the Yokahoo Tower.
I think we came here last time, didn't we?
>> Yeah. Yeah, I remember. I remember the view from up there, but I think there was a big flag up >> Puerto Rico.
>> Yeah, I don't see that now. I think they removed it here from the bottom. You get some nice views. It's kind of cloudy.
Looks cool, though. Elevation 1,575 ft.
So, apparently this is the only tropical rainforest in the US. There's other rainforests, but not tropical ones. All right, so we're at the top.
Get some awesome 360 views. So, I think last time we came it was a sunny day, but I think it actually looks kind of cooler with the clouds.
You have missing.
So, now we're going to one of the waterfalls called Kraada Juan Diego.
It's kind of hard to find parking right now. The lady at the entrance said we should park in the official places, but I think people are just parking anywhere really on the side of the road. There's not enough official places for everyone.
>> No. No. I can't even imagine how it gets during the weekend.
>> For holidays.
>> For holidays. It must be horrible.
>> Can already hear some falls here.
The little ones.
So, we just got to do a little nature trail to this one. I think I read it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to get to the main waterfalls.
And this is the first main waterfall.
Yeah, really beautiful. I don't really remember it from the first trip since it was so long ago. Can see the other one behind back there.
So this will be our last stop of the day. It's called Cascada Laca. Right at the side of the road. So this is the easiest one to come to. You just park over there. It's kind of nice how it's coming down the rock face.
So did you guys come to this park last time? No. No. We were just talking about that. Last time we came, we only what do we do? Old San Juan >> Old San Dorado. Yeah. And um but all the comments in the video were basically telling us to come here and I wish we had have known at the time. We didn't do our research. Well, that's for sure. But this is so so cool to us like and it was easy.
>> Super easy. It was only what 40 minutes driving from the city. So I think so.
>> No brainer. And it's good to do it in shoulder season cuz there's not a lot of people who now anyway.
So now we've come all the way to the east coast to a place called Fahadu.
And this is Puerto del Re. We've only come here to go to a restaurant called Laquva Delmare. I think that's the name.
And look how many boats there are. There must be thousands here.
Looks like one of the biggest ports that we've ever been to. It goes on forever all the way down there. Oh, the helicopter.
>> Yeah.
>> Did you tell them that's what we flew in on?
>> Yeah, that's how we got here.
They had a helipad in El Yuni.
>> So, I got these empanadas. They're $4 each. Pretty nice size, though. Very tasty. I think two of them were meat and cheese, and the other one is chicken and cheese.
>> So, I got this Puerto Rican dish, which is called Wongo. Uh, and I think it's like a plantains, the green plantain smashed and also with some chicharó, which is the crispy pork skin. And on top there's a chicken with alo I don't know how to say that.
>> Garlic, right?
>> Yes. The sauce. The type of sauce.
>> Yeah. That was $20.
Then Anna also got the empanadas. And Trevor, a very traditional Puerto Rican dish. It's been a while since I had a traditional Puerto Rican hamburger.
>> Really good location, though. We just found this place on Google Maps about an hour ago.
So, now we've arrived on the paradise island of Kbra where we came on our first visit. It has an amazing beach called Playa Flamnco, which many people consider to be the most beautiful in Puerto Rico. So, we'll be showing that in the next video. To come here, we went to the Saber Ferry Terminal, pretty close to where we had lunch. And the ferry is only $225 per person, and it's over an hour. I think it took about an hour and 20 minutes to get here. So, really good price. And then it's $1 for each piece of big luggage. And that's also the same ferry terminal that you go to to head to the other bigger island next to here called Vietkis. If you're planning on getting the ferry to any of these islands, definitely book in advance cuz when I went online about 4 days ago to book the tickets, many of the fairies were already sold out. There was only two left and that was quite a few days before. So, don't just turn up at the ferry terminal and try and buy tickets there cuz you might not even be able to get on the boat. And we really love the new parts of Puerto Rico that we saw in this video. Some really amazing coastline and yeah, very unique with all those like little pools everywhere.
Really, really cool. So, if you like this video, drop a like as usual to support us. Subscribe to see more videos like this. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook. And we'll see you in the next one.
