Temperatures start to decrease heading into the weekend
Added:It's going to be a warm stretch across San Diego County today, but we are cooling down from our peak that was over the last several days. It was Friday through about yesterday where we saw our afternoon highs come in about 5 to 10 degrees above average. Today we're watching as those temperatures slip a bit, but the plus side, the enjoyable side I'd say is that we are still going to be very summer-like out there. We'll still be able to hold on to about 70 up by the coast, almost 80 inland. Plenty of sunshine into the afternoon stretch, but for now we do have that fair amount of cloud cover overhead stretching all the way to the western slopes of the mountains. 30 mph on our wind gusts as we get toward 9:00 a.m. As we get into the afternoon stretch though, countywide we'll watch as those wind gusts pick up.
17 mph Oceanside, 16 in San Diego, 19 in Alpine dying down overnight. Beach hazard statement stays in effect out by the coast through Friday at 11:00 p.m.
with some 3 to 6-ft waves. Temperatures out the door right now in the 50s and 60s. Let's check in on traffic. to take you back to the same spot that we were in just a few minutes ago. This is in the Linda Vista area where we're still continuing to see that sigalert in play.
Take a look, this is what we have right now. Both directions in Morena on Linda Vista Road northbound and southbound at Goshen's Tree blocked off right now.
This is of course a surface street crash that we're tracking. So as far as crashes on our major freeways go, those are non-existent right now. We don't have anything major at least from CHP right now. We're taking you live right now to the westbound 78 at Nordahl.
Looking really mild, maybe a little bit of fog to watch for, but aside from that, safe morning commute out.
