[00:00:00]The Kerala Chief Minister has retained the finance and law portfolios in the newly sworn-in UDF government. This is the first major administrative decision of the UDF. The Kerala governor, meanwhile, formally approved the portfolio recommendations soon after the swearing-in of the new cabinet. And according to the allocation, Satheesan will also oversee the state's financial corporation, ports, pollution control, airports, metro rail, and railways.

[00:00:30]Additionally, the Chief Minister will oversee all important policy matters and subjects not specifically allocated to any other department. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala received the home portfolio along with the vigilance and uh three other departments. This makes him one of the key ministers in Satheesan's cabinet.

[00:00:57]Meanwhile, the IUML leader will be handling seven departments, including industries, IT, and textiles. The portfolio details were circulated through an official gazette after the governor approved the Chief Minister's recommendations. The UDF ministers had taken oath on the 18th of May, marking the start of the new government's tenure in the state.

[00:01:33]A notification was issued yesterday determining the portfolios of the ministers in the 21-member cabinet, including the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister will handle general administration, ports, finance, and law departments. Ramesh Chennithala gets home and vigilance. Overriding the objections of the Latin Catholic Church, the fisheries department was given to Muslim League. Education, industries, and the public works departments have been allocated to Muslim League. K M Mani holds the key portfolios of health and Devaswom. Today, 140 newly elected MLAs of the state took their oath in the legislative assembly and assumed office.
