Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Finale Review

[00:00:20]Hello, Interwebs. I hope you are all doing well because I am here to review the season 2 finale of Daredevil Born Again. This one titled The Southern Cross. Don't know why don't know why I said finale like that, but regardless, just saying it right up front, hot [ __ ] damn, this was a fantastic finale. I really, really loved this one.

[00:00:44]There were so many moments throughout this episode I was like, this is this is just really good and engaging. I'm on the edge of my seat. I'm just having fun with the dynamics at play here. uh and managed to like deliver on everything that I kind of love about Matt Murdoch and Daredevil the character as well as Kingpin the character in a single episode. Like not only do we get some amazing legal law stuff, which is something that I sometimes feel the Daredevil show loses a little bit, but we also got the action that we love and we get Kingpin being thoughtful and engaging and, you know, trying to outthink Matt and outplay Matt. but then at the same time also just, you know, beating the [ __ ] out of some people. And I love that. And also, as an aside, some of the things that I've been criticizing this whole season, uh, just the sort of placement of women throughout the show, and I know that's sort of been a conversation that's been going on in my comments sections every single time I bring it up. Uh, but just to say it, this episode handles the women really, really well. Like, Jessica Jones gets to kick some ass, Karen Paige gets to kick some ass. uh a lot of women get to do really cool stuff and none of it feels like stereotypical in any uh particular way. I thought that was great too. So amazing that it addresses even the criticism that I know is contentious for a lot of people in this episode as well.

[00:02:04]Uh really really love this. There are a few things here and there that I was not enthusiastically in love with. Uh but they're also not something that I ever expected Marvel to really go that far to do. namely with the sort of overriding more liberal civility politic sort of stuff that every Marvel thing is ultimately going to do. Like we'll talk about it more in specifics, but there's only so anti- cop Marvel is ever going to be. And I think this show gets as far down that spectrum as Marvel will ever get. But it still can't fully get there.

[00:02:40]Uh which is which again is upsetting.

[00:02:43]And I'm not going to say it's not something that doesn't bother me, but again, this is Marvel. Like I I really don't expect Marvel to really ever go fully, you know, uh anti-cop all the way. It's um it's a show made by a mega corporation like Disney and uh that just is what it is. But within those parameters, they do a really really good job. And for everything else, just in terms of the characters and the stuff that shows and discusses, this was A+ top-notch. And I really love this finale. And frankly, I'll just say this.

[00:03:14]If this was like I know there's a season 3 coming, but if I didn't know there wasn't a season 3 coming of the show, I would have felt like, yeah, this is actually a pretty this is a pretty solid ending to the Daredevil story. And I'm glad that there's more coming. Uh they've already they've already been filming season 3. And that actually makes me very happy. It's like, oh yeah, we're going to get a season 3 within a year or so. Like more of that Marvel, please just TV in general. Just please give me more like The Pit and Daredevil Born again where like I get a season every year. uh Invincible too kind of fits within this uh like I I want that again. I'm glad that it's starting to come back a little bit uh in some ways, shapes, or form. So, but anyways, if I didn't know a season 3 was uh coming, I would have been like, "Yeah, this was a solid ending to the Daredevil story if we don't get any more of this other than a few dangling threads here and there uh like Dr. Glenn and such." But on the whole, uh I was like, "This was just a really great wrapout of this two season long story." and I I was with it pretty much the entire way. Let's get into some specifics here. We have the opening sequence where Jessica's helping Matt uh recover after last week's episode.

[00:04:21]Wasn't in love with the child birth joke. It just that's the one if I'm going to put All right, put put the penny in the Jesse complains about stereotypical women's stuff jar. I guess we'll just make that a thing now. Uh but but that was just a joke. I'm like, "All right, yeah, yeah, whatever. I get it.

[00:04:37]She's a mom. We know it's fine. But uh I do like that Matt says, "Okay, I'm gonna put myself right back in the crosshair again." Even though uh Fisk is trying to either kill me or just sort of get me out of the way. Then we jump over to the Buck and Kingpin scene where essentially without saying it, Buck says that he killed Daniel. And I really loved the silence between those two actors where they they never have to say it. It's just acknowledged like, "Yep, this is what it is." And it's I'll be interesting to I wonder if they'll talk about this because uh after last week's episode, apparently it was revealed that they actually only killed Daniel in postprouction that they actually filmed scenes with Daniel living and that they started filming some scenes with him in the finale. But even the actor sort of felt like I don't really know if there's more story for this character. Maybe it makes more sense for him to have died in that uh penultimate episode. which is, you know, credit to the actor and writers for like figuring that out and be like, "No, maybe it maybe it doesn't does make sense for this character to die there." Uh, and I I tend to agree. I think that was a powerful ending for his character outside of the fact that he was kind of dumb. Like, if he knew he was going to let BB go, I feel like he should have either fought Buck or or like gone on the run himself. But in terms of thematics, it was a solid ending for his character. Um, but I'm also curious if this scene between Buck and Kingpin, uh, where they had that elongated silence between the two of them, if that was not just a re-edit as well, because I could easily have seen that just been in a re-edit, like find shots between the actors where they're just kind of looking at the other actor and remove sound or whatnot, and you can sort of artificially create that moment in post-production. Uh, but regardless of whether it was intentional on set or something they made in post-production afterwards, it worked really, really well and I thought was like a solid conclusion to, you know, Kingpin sort of recognizing, you know, all the things that he's been doing, like killing this kid who looked up to him. Um, and not that he feels any guilt or remorse over it by any means, but sort of like feeling like the, oh, the weight of the world is on my shoulders sort of thing that he uh discusses right after that.

[00:06:38]that's like, "Oh, now I feel what it means to be chosen by the people of New York." This sort of chosen one narrative that he sort of creates for himself um you know, around um the kind of person that he is that he sort of stands in for like the the the people of New York that he's really you know given that mandate by them to sort of stand up for them and anything he does is is allowed because of that. So really really enjoyed that element of this. But then this gets us into the actual trial stuff. And again, I said this before, I really liked that the first half of this episode is like really really cool trial stuff.

[00:07:13]Obviously, it's not a nitty-gritty like really really accurate trial stuff. Like some of the stuff Matt was doing in this sequence. I I know that people were saying, you know, uh like uh you know, objecting to some of the things he was doing, but I'm like there's there's a lot of leeway that he's getting at as a counselor, but it dramatically really worked. And again, in a Marvel show, I I'm not necessarily expecting the most nitty-gritty legal arguments. I I expect a little bit of dram uh dramatism of that uh that I would probably not expect from other shows that would be more specifically legal focused. But I do like that it works really really well and that we get to see Matt kind of own a courtroom in a really smart way because it's something that we don't get a lot of uh I feel like as much with Daredevil stuff. And it's something that I always found really unique about the character. And I like that the ending of this episode, uh, the finale of the season, I should say, really highlights that to a large degree. And there's some really thrilling moments here. Like I like the moment where they're away with the judges and Kingpin's whispering to Matt. Uh, there's also the moment where like, you know, Daredevil or Matt is sort of like playing up like, "Oh, we both know Daredevil was there." And Kingpin's like, "Oh, I I I enjoy I will enjoy going down this road with you, counselor." Like the just the interplay between between the two of them was so good. And I really was just at the edge of my seat the whole time cuz I'm like, is he about to reveal that he's Daredevil? And it was like he Matt was dancing on this knife's edge this entire time. And I liked that battle of wills kind of between the two of them with Matt sort of bringing in like oh we're going to bring in the uh testimony of the I think the first officer. It was either the captain or the first officer which it was and like no he was legally deposed like we can bring this in as evidence and the DA uh guy getting becoming more and more uh of an idiot as it went along where he's like saying like oh this is never going to get to appeals like you're going to say that in front of the judges like come on man.

[00:09:12]And I like that it's not the the win with the legal case is not a oh, you know, you've won this legal case overall. What it hinged upon was the fact that uh this um this the New York judicial system could not be objective in pursuing this case against Karen Page. And I kind of enjoyed that as the sort of way that this this ultimately all this hinged upon. Now, and this is going to get into my next criticism too.

[00:09:43]There is a level of like, oh, the the the you know, goodness of these institutions will ultimately prevail uh within that concept a little bit. Um, which uh you know, again, people know my politics. If you know my politics, you know them. That's something that doesn't really always work for me. It's like Kingpin even brings up several times throughout this season and even in this episode, he's sort of like, "Oh, look at the institutions." like you know he controls all of these things and you know we have seen in real life too how even the judicial system will bend to the whim of whims of authoritarians uh in many cases and it's a little bit trit to be like oh well we'll we realize we are not fully being able to be objective in this case because of how aligned this is all towards uh Fisk's power. Um, but that being said, I will say it does at least work pretty decently well, even if that's the ultimate point of the kind of the I guess the overall like theme of that sort of section. It works enough within this sequence where it's it it even plays with it being like the evidence is so overwhelmingly like, yeah, this is this is uh some [ __ ] um that they couldn't get away with it.

[00:10:56]I think that would have probably worked better for me if the judge had been less kind of more on Matt's side and it had been played more as like, oh yeah, actually Matt was going uphill against this judge and at the end of the day like there's just so much evidence that Matt lays down that it's like, yeah, we have to kind of throw this out cuz it would just be too ridiculous. Um, I think that would have worked a little bit better for me, but as it stands, it still works decently well. Um, if a little bit like, you know, the system will correct itself for my tastes. And speaking on that note, this is kind of my kind of my biggest criticism, and again, it's one that I didn't expect Marvel to ever do, but at least it's worth voicing. We do have this really good sequence where after this is handed down, um, and Matt reveals that he's Daredevil, which was a great freaking moment. Loved that. Uh, sort of, uh, Kingpin and Matt sort of hold themselves up in the, uh, courthouse after Bullseye tries to assassinate the assassinate. I was going to say assassinate the president, assassinate the mayor. Uh but I say that part because uh that sort of uh slip of the tongue because uh we've been seeing so many assassination attempts happening recently and this sort of like oddly predictive of that uh sort of element there with Bullseye doing that. And I loved the sequence too where Bullseye comes in and kills the fake Bullseye that they were going to use to try to uh pin it on them trying to kill Matt on Bullseye. and is like, I I love that sequence. It was really good. If this season did anything that I did not expect, it's make Bullseye, this particular version of Bullseye, a fun and interesting character who I want to see more of. Would never have said that after the Bullseye that I saw in the uh original Netflix run of Daredevil or even season one of Daredevil, uh, Born Again. Like, not that I, again, I've said this before, I didn't hate Bullseye, uh, in any of those appearances, but he was just sort of like, yeah, he was fine. this season has made me like, yeah, no, I want to see more of that guy. He's great now. Like, finally, let him be let him be a little bit offthe-wall uh and makes him 10 times more interesting. And I like where they put him at the end of the episode.

[00:13:02]I'll say this now, putting him along with Matthew Lillard. That's a match that's a match that I'm really excited to see. And I really hope to God that that comes back around either in next season of Daredevil Born again or the two of them show up in something else, whether it be that Punisher show or I guess movie that's going to come out next week uh or maybe in the Spider-Man movie or something like that. Like I want Bullseye and Matthew Lillard's character to show back up in something because that's a team up that I love and I just generally want to see more of Matthew Lillard as well. Uh, that would be that'd be such a sad thing if this is the only thing that Matthew Lillard does in the MCU because I just I love Matthew Lillard and I just want more of him.

[00:13:40]Give me more Matthew Lillard. Uh, he did a great job in this role. He made a kind of nothing role into something fun and uh I hope that they just didn't waste him on this role because frankly I could have seen Matthew Lillard be a much more prominent character uh somewhere in the MCU. Uh so it'd be kind of a disappointment if this is all he gets.

[00:13:58]So we'll see. We'll see where ultimately that goes. like maybe he'll show up in some Thunderbolts new Avengersy stuff.

[00:14:03]Uh that feels like a good fit for where he could also pop up as well, but we'll ultimately see. Um I also love that getting the He's so excited about the A million Mile Flyer Club. So good. He's great. Matthew Lillard, like I adore you to death, my man. Um anyways, back to what I was actually getting to. We have uh basically riots in the streets and we have essentially an anti-fisk uh group of people like putting on daredevil masks. I have to say, where did all those people get those Daredevil masks that quickly? Like damn, like someone someone's merchandising getting a lot of merchandising money off of that real quickly uh to get all those made for that crowd. But they start building a crowd. The one weird knock I have with this is the I like that BB is the one to help instigate it. That fits her character and pays off the Daniel's death sort of thing very well. I just am like it feels the way it's shot. It sort of alludes to the idea that she's like hacked everyone's phone to get this thing to play which is weird to me because that's never really set up. I guess maybe is that what like the chip that she was given early that chip kind of ultimately really went nowhere other than to like have her be revealed to Daniel. Really? Right. Was there something else with that McGuffin? I don't honestly don't remember. Maybe there was and I just completely forgot.

[00:15:24]Uh, but for me, I've completely forgotten and maybe had to enabled her to hack everyone's phone. I don't know.

[00:15:29]Felt a little bit weird. I think it would have probably worked a little better if it been just like, yeah, people are just watching this. This is just a thing that came out and everyone's everyone's been watching this show, so like, hey, you know. Um, but uh but yeah, it's it's played a little bit oddly there, but I at least like BB coming in. Um, and I like that Hector Ayella's daughter, I forget her name, but the new white tiger, I guess, because we saw her kicking butt during the fight sequence and later on in the episode, uh, showing up and, uh, you know, standing up to, uh, fifth task force. So, like seeing her getting involved in all of this as well. Um, but this again, as I've alluded to a few times already and keep keep meaning to get to the thing that I didn't love, but I'm not surprised Marvel did, which they have when the task force outside is outside of the courthouse and you have the people coming up to them. We do this whole thing where it's like, it's Cherry. It's the other cop guy who came who was from the original Daredevil show who just showed up in uh last episode again. I forget his name. Um, it was nice to see him, but it's like, okay, here's other officers, and it's like, oh, we have the good cops and the bad cops, and and actually the one other cop uh on the task force who we've been following prominently, who I know is a character from the comics as well, I forget, uh, but the guy who's not the lead task force [ __ ] but, uh, but the second in command, he betrays him and is like, "Yeah, you let him in."

[00:16:51]Sort of thing. And I'm like, "Really?

[00:16:53]We're doing the whole like there's good cops and there's bad cops." And actually, of the bad cops, there's one with a conscience, so they're really not all that bad sort of thing. And I at least appreciate that later on in the episode when we see Jessica Jones and Matt beating the [ __ ] out of people in hallways along with White Tiger, they're still beating up the task force cops.

[00:17:13]So, at least it's not like, all right, the task force cops are are out of the way now. Like, we're still like, at least appreciate that we're still beating the [ __ ] out of them as they deserve. Um, and it wasn't just like, oh, this one guy did this one thing and now all of the bad cops are suddenly like standing out of the way of Matt and everybody. Um, and everyone's just abandoned fists. So, I at least appreciated that element of it, but it's still doing the hashtag notallcops sort of thing. And again, I mentioned this a billion times already. It's not something that I don't I never expect Marvel to go fully anti-cop, right? It it was always going to be some level of, you know, there's just a few bad apples.

[00:17:50]And even last season had already kind of teed this up with it just being like, oh, the task force that Kingpin had made was made of the, you know, the cops who had gone too far. And actually the the police chief uh actually was one of the good guys and he was kind of a dick to Kingpin. um and kind of a dick just generally, but you know, he he still had values at the end of the day when, as we've seen in real life, like nah, cops generally will stick together and police chiefs will usually stand by the department and uh the many violences that police will do against uh people who attempt to protest and fight back against uh fascist regimes. Um, so I was a little bit disappointed by that to see it, but again, it's not something I don't it's nothing not something I expected Marvel to do, but it's at least worth mentioning uh as a Yeah. Yeah, it's there. So, that's that was one kind of disappointment that I saw there. But, this leads into the really great sequence with Kingpin in the courthouse and Daredevil and all the governor and everyone else also in the courthouse as well. And I loved seeing Glenn like finally punch the DA guy who really deserves it. And obviously we finally got to the point where at the end of the episode she has put on the muse masks.

[00:19:05]So obviously we finally set her up to become that. And I like that it pays off some of the stuff that she was even saying in the uh courtroom scene where she's talking about her book which by the way interesting and this fits for me in a weird way but her book book is always talking about men. like her the name of her book is Men in Masks and we know that there are many women vigilantes like Karen Paige is one herself. Um but uh there are women vigilantes within the world of Marvel less than there should be but there are some. And it's uh and it's interesting that her book is only a talking about men and it reads to me like Dr. Glenn reads to me kind of like those sort of like white feminist turfy kind of women in a way where uh where they're like, "Oh, the only types of people who can do violence are men." Like women can't really do violence. Like you see this uh in like some of the stuff that's in like UK law that many turfs like JK Rowling uh like you know uh try to defend which is like you know only men can legally uh like sexually assault somebody. women are not legally able to sexually assault somebody under some UK laws. Um, which is [ __ ] up because yeah, like while men are more likely to do so based on, you know, how we've, you know, conditioned men to sort of see women in our society, women are just as capable of also sexually assaulting somebody.

[00:20:32]Um, and the idea that they can't is, you know, uh, an element of patriarchy as well. Um, and so she kind of she kind of feels that same sort of vibe for me. So it works for me that her book is like only talking about men in this context when at the end of the episode she herself is putting on the mask and we see that this is like her like real face. Like she sees herself in the mirror when she puts on the muse mask.

[00:20:57]She finally feels like herself by putting on this mask. So there's like this interesting gendered commentary. I don't know if it was intentional or not by the show, but it is something that reads true to me that I did like seeing uh play out in this episode subtly. Um, but thankfully we finally got to an interesting place with her because I've just been not that she's been un uninteresting, but I've just been like I see the writing on the wall and there's been some good scenes with Dr. Glenn, but I'm finally glad that we get where we where we where we're going with her finally for next season. Now, uh, also weird, I forgot this, too. Buck gets shot in this episode, too, and nothing really ever comes after that. We see him around. He's still alive. So, I'm curious what they'll do with him next season, but there's no sort of resolution with him much outside of the stuff that happened with Buck last episode in his one little scene with Kingpin here. But we get this great action sequence where Matt and Jessica are just plowing through the the cops and we see all of the Antifisk protesters storming the uh the building which is like really the visuals of that were beautiful. Like the way this was this episode was shot was gorgeous. Like very well shot. It's like some of the best uh cinematography of this show. And I think frankly in the MCU generally speaking, like the I'll be frank, the MCU is generally not a uh cinematographically wellsh shot franchise. They usually just wing it a lot of the time. Like we'll just shoot a billion different angles or whatnot. Like I liked that this episode felt like there was some precision put into the visuals and uh that is very much appreciated and it very much shows.

[00:22:30]So, really really liked that uh to see.

[00:22:32]But then we also get Kingpin plowing through some of these protesters. Like I love that he just does not want to accept the deal and he's like, "I'm, you know, you need to you need to see me. I want to beat the [ __ ] out of all these people. Like I stand for New York sort of thing." Um I love when he open the door and says, "Boo." And then punches somebody right in the face. Like damn.

[00:22:51]Uh that was just uh you know, it was just fascinating to watch. Um, but then this leads to the end of the episode.

[00:22:58]And I, you know, initially I was kind of going back and forth on it, and I I feel like I land on liking it, but, you know, I could also be swayed thinking about a little bit more over the next few days, uh, feeling differently about it. But, we get this ending where people try storming the kingpin, and we, uh, we then have Matt and also Jessica who's like grabbing people and like throwing them to him. Like, Jessica, why are you like throwing people? You're getting them hurt and they're on your side, girl. But they like try to stop them from getting to Fisk cuz they're like and Matt even yells like we're better than this. And the deal that Matt sort of says is like take the deal and we both sort of like leave and you know this will this will give this this will give New York peace. And as we see, and as I was watching this, I was sort of having this mixed feeling around this idea cuz on the one hand, I like the concept of Matt being like, I'm going to give grace to my um to my enemy. Sort of a thing that he has learned throughout this whole season. But that worked a little bit better for Bullseye for me than it does for Kingpin. Especially because like just seconds before we saw Kingpin literally punch a guy in the face and it maybe I'm wrong, but the implication seems to be like when he opened the door and said boo and then punched that guy in the face. Um, he killed that person. Like maybe he didn't, but the implication with that person like hitting that like that wall and then their eyes being open like staring at the camera for a second. The implication is like they're dead and he just murdered that person. In the very least, he's caused grievous bodily harm to many people within just the last few minutes. And that alone feels like it does need some level of repercussions.

[00:24:42]And it is frustrating to me to let him sort of get away with that. Um, and and like the one thing that I was sort of like maybe this is what they were trying to go for, which is the thing that they mentioned at the end of two episodes ago where like Kingpin's like, "Y'all I'm, you know, I'm uh, you know, I control the courouses. you can never like really arrest me. It'll be whatever. And uh you could make that argument except for this very episode. We have the governor being like, I'm going to start a process to arrest you. And and it's and I get it that the district or the attorney general is like, "We're going to let you go. Uh just resign from being mayor." But I'm like, I feel like there needs to be some more justice here. I not like I could I could you again it's a little bit civility politics for me but I could get on board with the whole we need to we're better than just beating the [ __ ] out of him and killing him in mob justice sort of thing. Um but it is weird to me to be like but we're just going to let him go. And what makes it work a little bit better for me uh because that was my feeling when I first watched it um as I was watching the episode. What makes it work a little bit for me is we get to the end of the episode and we get the shot where Matt is also being thrown in jail. Uh, but we cut to Kingpin sort of staring out over the sea and he's sort of free, but you the visual is clearly evoking like him staring at the like rabbit in a snowstorm uh, imagery and you get this sense that like, oh, he has nothing and this is in his own way his own kind of prison for not being able to go back to New York, which is something that he cared deeply about.

[00:26:23]um he doesn't get to have that anymore.

[00:26:25]And to a degree, this is his sort of punishment, too. And I like that Matt sort of smiles at the thought of that.

[00:26:31]At least the implication seems to be.

[00:26:34]And I at least appreciate that element of what this episode's saying because it's like, okay, he is punished in a way. Uh if I was a family member of someone that Kingpin like punched in that riot at the end of the episode, uh I pretty much would be like, "No, maybe maybe we do some justice here." I don't know. Um but again, it gets into whole like they were in a government building and D there'll be like legal complications. I get it and I get the idea that like this would drag out like this legal stuff in a way that uh would possibly cause even more chaos. I get it. But it's at the same time like no, I think you you do need to go you need to hold somebody accountable in some way. I feel like um even as someone who's not like, "Oh, I believe in the system to do that accountability." Just look at someone like Trump who even before he got elected again in 2024 was had many legal cases put against him and got away with all of it. So like certainly I don't believe in the system to necessarily do justice to men like Kingpin.

[00:27:38]Um, so maybe there's an argument to be made here of this is the better option, but I would have liked maybe there being some more thing of like we'll, you know, punish him in another way. I don't really even know. Um, I don't know. It's just it's it's one of those where I can wrestle with it. And again, there's only so far a Marvel movie is going to go.

[00:27:57]Um, but it's one I'm like I have I have mixed feelings on on it, but I think the episode manages to land the plane at least in a place where I feel okay with it given that last shot with Matt smiling at the thought of Kingpin sort of staring out at sea and and kind of being on his own and not knowing what to do. So, what I will basically where I come down on it is I have complicated feelings on the whole politics of it to a degree, but given what the show had set up and where it was going, what it was doing, it lands the plane decently enough for it to work satisfyingly for me. Um, and speaking of satisfying endings, I loved seeing Luke Cage come back. Hell yeah, that's amazing. Um, I knew he was going to be coming back at some point because there were pictures floating around online. Uh, but I never wanted to mention it in the episode in case all of you hadn't seen those pictures. Uh, so I was glad that he did come back. Hopefully we'll see him again in season 3. Uh, and things like that and Jessica Jones again in season 3. And hell, I would honestly be up for more. I would at the very least honestly, you know, you know what I would want? I would just want a Jessica Jones and Luke Cage show. Like, as much as I, you know, I love Luke Cage, the character. His show was okay. It had some good moments, but the show was okay. And I love Jessica Jones seasons one. Season one.

[00:29:11]Thought season 3 was okay. Season two was not great. Um, but I honestly I think I think you could sort of level it out and be like, you know what, it's a Jessica Jones and Luke Cage show. And if you did something like that, I would be here for it. Um, I think maybe having them have their own standalones doesn't work as much anymore. I think Jessica Jones could probably still I guess both of them could. Again, both of them could. It depends on what you do with them, but I I would like a show with the two of them. I think it's just where where I'm at with that now. Anyways, it was nice to see the two of them. We set up stuff with Bullseye and Matthew Lillard, as I talked about. We got Dr. Glenn, and now we have a really good ending out with um uh Matt going to jail, and that's a good place for us to end out the season. Oh, also BB sort of gets sort of a moment to reconcile with her uh uh uncle, right? I believe is her uncle uh uncle from Daredevil season two, three, I forget. Anyways, her uncle, the person we seem to know the Daredevil shows that she's related to, she gets sort of resolution there with that character. So, nice to see that.

[00:30:10]Yeah, like I said, I have a few issues, but most of it's just to do with the politics of Marvel and Disney, generally speaking, that you know, what did I expect? Um, but on its own terms, within those boundaries, this was phenomenal.

[00:30:26]This was a really strong finale. I would say probably one of the strongest finales of any of the Marvel the Marvel Disney Plus shows out there. I think the only one that comes to mind as stronger immediately is Loki season two and even season one. I thought season one was solid, too. But Loki seasons 2's finale was amazing. So, this doesn't hit that high for me, but uh and I didn't even like Loki season 2, but that finale was so good. Uh but this was a really strong finale. It's definitely up there as one of the ones that I like the most because even for Marvel shows, Disney Marvel Plus shows that I have liked like W division or, you know, Miss Marvel. Even ones that I've liked, their finales have usually been pretty damn weak. Moonnight would be another one that I toss in here. The finales tend to be very weak.

[00:31:13]Uh this this was not, and I appreciate that. Thank god. So yeah, that's pretty much everything I have to say on this. I know I talked for a little bit more than I usually do, but there was a lot to talk about here. This was a great finale. What did you think about it though? I'd love to hear all your thoughts down below. And I hope you, my friends, oh, I will mention I will be reviewing the Punisher movie most likely. I think that's coming out next week. Whenever it comes out, I'll probably be uh reviewing it at some point. And I'll also be reviewing Spider-Man Noir. Um, I got screeners for that. So, um, that's all I can really say about it, but I've been watching that as well. So, I'll be reviewing that at some point.
