The United Naga Council, the apex body of the Naga people in Manipur, vehemently condemned the cross-border attacks perpetrated by the Myanmar-based armed Kuki militants, KNA, a blatant unprovoked attack [music] carried out by Kuki militants operating under SOO operation on 7th May at [music] the Indo-Myanmar border and Sinakaithei village respectively. In a press release, the UNC stated that at approximately 4:00 a.m., a force of around [music] 100 heavily armed militants illegally breached the international Indo-Myanmar border from Myanmar and [music] executed a premeditated assault upon the Naga villages of [music] Namli, Wangli, Ashang, Kolen, and Azechoro. So, the Sinakaithei [music] village was stated to have attacked from the Lungthar hill range where heavily armed [music] Kuki mercenaries were positioned, unleashing heavy rounds of gunfire, injuring many civilians [music] at approximately 12:30 p.m. The UNC stated that such attack constitutes a brazen assault upon India's [music] sovereignty and a direct violation of the lives and dignity of indigenous Naga peoples. So, the United Naga Council has [music] demanded immediate and decisive military action by the center to neutralize the foreign aggressors and restore the sanctity of the international [music] Indo-Myanmar border. The UNC demanded the urgent deployment of Manipur state [music] forces whom they said the people repose their sole trust. UNC further demanded emergency relief for displaced women, children, and the elderly presently sheltering in [music] jungles and a high-level time-bound inquiry into how about 100 militants crossed the border undetected following a security visit on May 6th with [music] culpability established and accountability enforced.
