CBSE OSM System Row Escalates: Rahul Gandhi Flags Irregularities, BJP Hits Back Over Contracts

[00:00:00]Earlier slammed the center and slammed the CBSE yesterday and he had alleged a massive tampering within the board's OSM or the on-screen marking system. Now, this system is to assess class 12 board exam papers. The issue heated up after reports of glitches, mismatches, etc. came to the fore and there was a student who had flagged these lapses. Rahul Gandhi basically claimed that CBSE had failed to answer the question when it comes to the alleged irregularities.

[00:00:28]>> First, why and by whom was Coempt given the CBSE contract? Second, which procedures were circumvented to give Coempt this contract? If we could figure out in 30 seconds that this company earlier had a different name, why didn't the CBSE figure this out? And why were no background checks done? Third and most important, what is the exact relationship between Coempt management and the Modi government? CBSE students right now and their parents are anxious.

[00:01:25]Piyush Goyal has questioned Rahul Gandhi. He slammed these claims. BJP's charge is [music] that Congress is spreading propaganda over facts. BJP says that chronic political amnesia seems to be hitting the Congress. That's the attack of Piyush Goyal. Goyal says firm under lens has been chosen by the Congress party.

[00:01:42]So, basically the crux and sum and summation of this entire controversy, Rahul Gandhi basically questioning the particular firm which has been roped in and BJP citing the contract which had been given by the Congress party to the same firm.

Mohit, take us through, you know, one, the to and fro which is happening, the war of words, political row which has erupted over the CBSE's OES M system. The latest claim by Rahul Gandhi, and give us a context into why there is really, to begin with, such a big controversy around this firm.

[00:02:18]>> Well, you see, one thing is for sure that the CBSE OES M has created confusion among students on the ground, and many of the students they have come out and they have raised questions on the process.

[00:02:29]But yes, what we see is that politics being played on this. Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi raised certain questions and asked for the resignation of the of the education minister by saying that why was CBSE OES M contract handed over to firm CO MPT, a company already mired in controversy under its old name, and why exactly no background checks were being done. Now, after that, we have seen many of the senior BJP leaders, including various chief ministers, coming out and attacking Rahul Gandhi, saying that it is the same company that Rahul Gandhi today is calling controversial, was again and again awarded projects by institutions functioning under Congress governments in Telangana and Karnataka.

[00:03:07]And so, the BJP says that Rahul Gandhi is doing politics of convenience at a time when everybody needs to stand together. Rahul Gandhi is politicizing the issue. But yes, the opposition parties have raised questions on this, and there are various uh the uh various uh details that BJP has put out that in Karnataka, in Telangana, in Andhra Pradesh, in West Bengal, in various other states, various contracts were being given uh to this particular company, and the BJP says that why exactly Rahul Gandhi then did not say anything, and why exactly he is he's suffering from selective amnesia.

[00:03:42]>> Well, absolutely, and that is the entire controversy. What we are showing you was on both sides of both the charges. What Rahul Gandhi has had to say, how the BJP is countering the attack. Now, Rahul Gandhi says and asks, what is the relationship between this government and firm? The firm in question which has been roped in obviously in the backdrop of the OSM controversy. Rahul Gandhi says that this has been involved in an earlier exam mess. Now, how is the BJP countering this? The BJP says that the same firm which the Congress is questioning today had been awarded in the Congress era. So, if this firm had so many issues, why is it that the Congress to begin with had given them a contract? So, that is the big controversy which is erupting. Amita joining us from the newsroom. [00:04:26]>> Uh the counter mainly coming in from the BJP and from the Union Minister's side uh Minakshi as Piyush Goyal himself has now talked about. Uh so, this very response that uh we have been seeing that Rahul Gandhi has been targeting the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in particular. Piyush Goyal is of the opinion saying that Rahul Gandhi suffers from chronic political amnesia and he's done it again, chosen propaganda over facts, theatrics over truth. Saying that the same Goem Tech EduTech Private Limited that Rahul Gandhi today is calling controversial was repeatedly awarded projects by institutions functioning under the Congress governments in Telangana and Karnataka. And he says that these are the facts that Rahul Gandhi conveniently forgot when it comes to Bengaluru City University in Karnataka. The agreement that was signed back in November 2025.

[00:05:10]We're looking at uh another uh Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences in Telangana. The agreement that was signed in September 2024. So, this is now something which uh Piyush Goyal has been highlighting as far as Congress's past is concerned saying that if this company's tainted, then will he accuse the Congress Chief Ministers of Telangana and Karnataka of collusion and will he demand their resignations as well? And Piyush Goyal is now of the opinion saying that the pattern is familiar. Wild allegations, no evidence, no accountability. And the moment facts catch up, Congress runs conspiracy theories and India is done with such selective outrage. So, that is a baseless allegations on part of Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
