Successful reselling requires understanding marketplace economics, including how fees, shipping costs, and platform-specific restrictions impact profitability; for example, media items like CDs may need to be priced at $15+ shipping on eBay and $12-18 on Amazon to remain profitable, while bulk lots and local auctions serve as alternative channels for items that don't meet online marketplace price thresholds.

>> Good morning. It's Alan with PDX Flips.
It is Tuesday, July 21st. It's about uh 8:20 in the morning. I'm here at the warehouse. I actually started out at the DMV, but that was a fail. I need to get a duplicate title, replacement title for a vehicle that I gifted my nephew. Um it was already like a 3-hour line at 8:00 in the morning, and then I realized I didn't have all the information I needed. So, I'm just going to deal with that online. It's pretty crazy that the DMV is set up that it's at least here in Oregon, it's really hard to get an appointment. I can get an appointment. I just have to travel 60 miles and and wait a month. But some of the things are available online. So online is where I will go to this. Okay. I don't expect to be here very long today. It's already pretty warm and it's early in the morning and the forecast says it's supposed to be um now it's saying 97 degrees today. I can't even imagine how unbearable it is going to be here around noon. So, here's my plan. I plan on sticking around a fairly short amount of time today. I plan on uh gathering, packing the orders, and I'll show you everything that's sold. Uh looking right now it's 12 orders on eBay. I think I have a couple Amazon orders. So I don't have too many orders uh to go out today.
So that's good. It I may only be here for an hour or so. I I'll stay till it starts to get uncomfortable. Right now it feels warm, but with the once I gather the orders with the fan blowing on me, that should help a lot. Um what I plan on doing is just bringing some stuff back home. I had brought the CDs that I've been working on from home. I wasn't really working on them from home because I was focusing on the crossosting.
So, I think what I'm going to do is that one box of CDs I found yesterday. I know there's some good stuff in there. I'm going to bring that as well as uh another stack of CDs that I designated to be listed on eBay and really spend the time working at my home office listing, which I haven't done from there really like this in in a while. It's hard to believe that that was my primary place of listing things for 20 something years.
Uh same same location because I've lived in the house now for 23 years and up until a few months ago that that was it.
It was right downstairs right by the desk and almost the same desk. I I think I got that desk maybe about a year after I moved in. So, the setup is essentially the same as it's been for 20 something years, but the AC is going to be working there. And um it might be to the point with the AC that uh because there's a huge difference. The the the basement is a little bit subterranean, so it stays really cool down there. Um so, they'll need the AC upstairs. I may have a a sweatshirt on while I'm working while it's 97°. That's uh that's not too abnormal for uh for me uh with uh with the way that the house uh cools down. So I that's my plan is stay here as long as I can, get to the post office, then get home. I do have some boxes in the garage that I've yet to go through. So I may actually do an unboxing at my home office. Uh what I should do is I should show you that one box that has the watches in it. um it's not going to be a surprise, but I once I set that aside and again that was probably about nine months ago. I haven't really looked at it closely since. So that's uh that is going to be my plan is to show you cuz that that was a video that you may or may not have seen and on Wade's channel and if you did it was a while ago. There are some auctions that are ending today that have my interest. It is now July 21st and I have not I have not purchased a storage auction in the month of July.
I've held true to that. I'm probably going to end up passing on these though because I just don't want to be out there in 100° weather going through this stuff. It's they're they're not interesting enough to me to uh to do that. So, I'll take a look again. I mean, I suppose I could always purchase the unit and rent rent it out for the month, but at the moment, I'm thinking I'm not going to do that. There's there's lots to do here. There's lots to do at home. I have all the other locations of stuff to go through. So, I'm inclined not to and just wait till after I get back because I I am traveling. I'm leaving on Friday. Oh, I just sold something. Um I don't know what it is, but I sold it. Uh, I can't read sideways. I am leaving on Friday for British Columbia, Canada for a few days and um, so I've got to get ready for that. I'm got to pick up family from the airport early afternoon on Thursday.
So, my plan toward the end of the week is to be here in the morning, uh, process the, uh, process the orders, get to the post office, and then shut down the marketplaces. No whatn not auction this week. I decided not to run one today, which is probably a good thing because I I actually do need to take Alyssa to a dental appointment right when the auction would be happening. And I do not want to be at this warehouse at 1 2:00 in the afternoon with the temperatures going as high as they're supposed to be going. Just not just not worth it. So, the plan work here as long as I can. I'll get all the orders uh gathered and packed for sure. I think I have four offers to consider, too. So, I got to look at the offers and at that point, I'm going to start getting ready to go. I'm going to load up what I want to bring uh home because tomorrow is going to be a similar situation. It's actually supposed to be warmer tomorrow than it is today. So, I suspect it's going to be over 100° tomorrow. Uh, the great thing about getting to the warehouse this morning and getting to the post office is that if I choose not to come in tomorrow, I can come in on Thursday. I'll probably have to get here extra early on Thursday to to make it work, but I'll make it work. Um, supposed to cool down on Thursday a little bit. Maybe only be like lower 90s. So, good news is I don't have to be in the warehouse uh very much. looked at the weather ahead in Canada. It's supposed to be rainy and like in the 60s. So, that'll be a nice change. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and answer the emails.
I'm going to go ahead and look at the offers, gather everything, and I'll be right back showing you what sold.
Okay, I have everything gathered and ready to go. So, in a minute, I will show you what has sold and what I'll be packing this morning. It will not take me too long based on what I'm seeing here. It's just one shelf full of stuff.
But something kind of exciting happened.
And let me show you the screen to show you what uh that is.
There it is. It's actually my first payment from YouTube from being monetized. And quite honestly, it's more than I expected to uh to get.
And the next payment should be a little bit more. So, I mean, this is over the course of a month, so it's like $5 a day. So, it literally is a cup of coffee. But hey, I appreciate a cup of coffee. Uh I'm I'm really happy with it.
Of course, there's always room for growth. I'm The main thing is I'm really enjoying this channel. The the amount of time I'm putting into this uh I'm probably being paid about, you know, 30 cents an hour or something. And it's fine cuz I would do this even if I got no compensation at all. But I but I am getting some compensation. So, I appreciate I I look at my stats and so many of you are watching large large portions of the videos and I super super appreciate that. Uh yeah, it's just one extra it's it's my year of expanding uh income sources from reselling and YouTube is definitely a part of that.
Now, I I think the amount I'm going to get from YouTube is going to be higher than some of the smaller marketplaces that I crossost to. So, and I want to build everything up. I want to be less reliant on one marketplace, which right now is eBay. And I do love selling on eBay, but if I could even things out and uh grow my business and grow it in many different places, that would be amazing.
That's the That's the plan. And it's a it's a slow roll out. Okay, let me show you what sold after an exciting day yesterday of really high-end items. That's not the case today. But that's just the nature of what it's like to be a reseller, right? Uh every day can't be a a huge massive sales day. And today is not one of those days. Uh two Amazon CDs sold inexpensive 1313 and 1521.
Um, there's some uh spark plugs. I think that sold for about $30. Uh, here's a Hot Wheels car. Sold for $20, so I'll take that. Along with a uh a Batman action figure for about $17 and uh a Medusa Blu-ray for about $15.
This actually is a Oh, and I just sold something else. I sold the Barbie, which I'll add to the to the total. Uh, this is a Jerry Garcia silk tie. I've got a bunch of them listed. I was actually surprised at how slow they've been selling, but this did sell for $20 plus shipping. And this magazine sold for $25.
So, I'm uh I've got more of those.
Pretty good with that. Here's a Craft Work Autobond cassette tape sold for $17.
An action figure that had been listed for a very long time sold for $18.
Um, again, this is one of those examples with media where it sold on a on a markdown because it's been listed for a while. That just went for $12.82.
Here's another individual Hot Wheel.
Sold for $26.99. Kind of nice to see those going. $18 for this power supply.
This came out of the the unit with all of the musician stuff. Uh, this is a Crosley uh, Bluebird Mirror AMFM cassette radio player. Uh, it's actually pretty cool. Looks like an old car part that sold for $80. Uh, this book sold for $16.99.
And this Transformers toy sold for $15.
I'll go get the Barbie right now. It sold I think for 22 $24. I'll just add that to my pile. I'm not going to show it on the video. Um, and I did take a couple of other offers. So, if those come in before I'm done packing, I'll show you what that is.
But for now, I'm going to go ahead and uh get the packing taken care of because when I need to leave from here, I want to leave from here. I've got the uh the big garage uh rolling door open and uh that's making it a little bit nicer in here at the moment. I've got that one fan bringing some cooler air in. It's like it's in the 70s right now. So, as soon as it hits 80, it's not going to be bringing cooler air in. And I've got one more fan I can I can have going while I pack. So, let me go ahead get that done.
I'll show you what it looks like afterwards. And then I'll see where I am as far as the day goes.
Okay, I've got everything packed. Not much going to the post office, which is what I expected today. But I am glad that uh I got it done. It means that if I don't want to be here tomorrow, I don't have to be. Although the mornings are pretty tolerable. It's actually warming up. It's 76 right now. Since I started, it's gone up like 4 degrees and I think by 11:00 it's going to be about 90° outside. So, we'll see how long I can stay here. But with the fans going, it's uh tolerable for now. So, I'm going to continue working. But here's what's going.
Yep, that's it. Just uh just a tote full of boxes and then that one box for the Barbie. Uh, I'm gonna go work on looking through some records albums. Shel's going to be here working on records. I like to get some uh set up for her. I don't know if I'm going to make any progress on these piles over here. I'm just not going to be here long enough to list. Uh, this stuff I'd love to see go in the local auction, but I think the records need more of my attention right now. And if I'm here long enough, which I don't think I will be, I'll work on working through some of this stuff here.
Yeah, here's the uh here's the uh Troutdale weather. So, they're talking now 99 today and 100 tomorrow. Then it goes down to 85, but I won't be here in the afternoon on Thursday. Everyone's coming in. And then by the time I get back to work uh next week, it'll be in the low 80s, which is going to be a lot more tolerable.
Okay, I'm going to get to work. Let's see how far I get into this. And again, I do plan on working from the home office. So, if I leave, well, when I leave the warehouse, I will leave. When I leave the warehouse, uh I'll bring you along there and uh we'll we'll do some filming from the home office. It'll be much more pleasant.
Hey everyone. It's uh about 11:30 in the morning here. I think I'm going to call it a day. Apparently now I'm needed to do some more driving back home. So that definitely interrupts things a little bit. But it's starting to get pretty warm. So I kind of want to uh move to the home office. I did get 10 items listed here. uh couple online on eBay and the rest local, which is good cuz it's uh I'll show you where I where I stand right now or at least where I'm walking. I'll turn this around.
I got some of the some of the stuff cleared out over here. So, it's uh it's coming along. I think a couple more days and I expect this whole area to be uh somewhat cleared out. Of course, I'll turn this around again. Of course, a couple of days, maybe about a week and a half because uh this is going to be it for today here. I'm It's It's already pretty warm and it's just going to be getting a lot warmer. It's going to be getting about another 20° warmer outside, which probably means another 30° warmer in here. So, end of the day here for sure. Uh I'll give you updates though from the home office. Uh, I'm bringing a lot of stuff back with me. I found boxes of CDs uh just by looking at a couple titles. They look really good.
So, it'll give me stuff to um to store for Twisted Treasures to list on Amazon and eBay. And so, my hope is to in the air conditioning comfort to to figure things out and get things listed. Shelby was having computer problems today and so I've got her computer so I've got to fix that as well. And so after the initial running around, which is gonna probably take about two to three hours of my afternoon, I'm hoping to spend the late afternoon and early evening at home working on um working on more stuff. So I'll I'll see you all from there.

Thank you.
Okay, it's 12:40. I'm at the home office. I got to leave here in about 20 minutes, but I got the computer problem solved. I took care of the DMV, decided to print out the form online and mail it to them instead of standing in line for 3 hours. I should have just done that to begin with. Uh, I've done a little bit of listing here and I'm going to do some more uh once I get back. So, it's nice and cool. The AC is blowing and yeah, everything's good. So, I'll be back to check in in a little while.
Well, I think it's around 5:00 here.
Let's see. No, 4:42. Uh, it's about 100° outside. It's really warm outside. I'm so glad I am not at the warehouse right now. It's so nice being at the home office. AC is on. It feels really nice in here. And took care of all the medical stuff. Uh, yeah, it was a dental appointment and then they it was like backtoback voice lesson the dentist. Poor poor Alyssa.
Uh, she's okay, though. Uh, so I'm back here working. Uh, I got I've got some some stuff done, but that took it took about three hours for everything. So, I'm hoping to put in a good 2 to three hours worth of work, and I am working on an amazing box of music, an amazing box of CDs. Let me show you what I'm working with.
This is the box here. But we're talking AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, more a lot of AC/DC. Wow.
A ton [clears throat] of AC/DC.
Yeah, there's uh this this was this was definitely a collection because the boxes are in alphabetical order. So, this is just the AB box, [clears throat] but I really like this because there's a lot of classic rock uh a lot of classic rock and metal um sounds here. So, I'm looking forward to sorting through this.
So, what do I do with the CDs and how do I determine that? And a lot of what determines what happens to the CDs are the prices that they would be listing for. As I have pushed to increase the uh the minimum price of listing on marketplaces, uh a lot of this is just simply not going to go there. Now, five years ago, when media mail was about 250 to ship and the fees were lower at the marketplaces, I could sell a CD for about $8.
Um, $8 shipped and still do okay with it. Here, let me do the let me do the math for you.
Okay, here's a rundown of what I believe it was like in 2019 [clears throat] for an $8 CD on eBay. It was $ 250 for postage media mail, about 15 cents for supplies. Envelopes were easily 10 each and a$14 in eBay fees.
So before cost of goods, there was on an $8 CD, I had $4.31 coming in. I could actually go and I did buy CDs for a dollar and list these um in 2026 that postage is almost double. It's $439.
Supplies are almost double and eBay fees are up a whole bunch. And why are eBay fees up a whole bunch? There's two factors. Uh one is u voluntary. You do this by choice and the other is you're forced to do it. Uh eBay since 2019 charges sales tax to uh buyers in states that have sales tax. Oregon does not have sta sales tax, but a lot of states do. And you pay basically you you pay your percentage based on shipping and taxes.
So there's more in fees. The other thing is promoted rates have started happening since since then. It really has become a paytoplay on eBay. And I should talk about this in a future video. It's going to I I choose to do it at a fairly low rate. Let me turn this around. I choose to do it at a fairly low rate because it makes a difference in sales. And if I look at that number, it's a $1.84 estimated before cost of goods. I can't really go around and spend a dollar on a CD and make hope to make a $184 assuming it goes for $8. And there's a couple of things that have happened over the past several years that makes it harder for media sellers in particular.
The first is a lot of prices on items have actually come down. There's a lot of stuff I'm you know that are going for5 $6 that would have been 10 $12 CDs um 78 n years ago. So price of media seems to come down and demand is down too now. People are still buying CDs but they're not buying CDs like they used to buy CDs and that's not too surprising with streaming and you know listening on your phone and every device. I mean I have a smart speaker in the house. Uh most cars these days don't even have a CD player. A lot of households may not even have a CD player anymore. And so that's not uh it it's not too surprising. Prices are are down. Oh, sold something. Prices are down. Demand is down.
And so they're just not selling as as fast. So it's definitely for me to feel comfortable putting a CD up on eBay. I really wanted to be going for $15 plus shipping. So, we're really at that $20 mark. Now, on Amazon, I'm willing to have that be a lower number. And you may think, well, that sounds counterintuitive because Amazon fees are actually higher than eBay. And that's true. Their fees are higher than eBay. The reason that I justify having a lowerriced item on Amazon is that the listing process is so much easier. eBay, I've got to take the time to do the pictures and everything.
With Amazon, I don't. It It's a much quicker uh process for Amazon. So, I'm okay with things going for a little bit less. So, if something is selling for 12 to say $18 shipped, that is fine to put on Amazon, but I want it to be around really am aiming for 20. I I may consider an 18. It just it also depends on how fast is this going to sell. And Amazon, I get that information when when listing almost instantly with their ranking system. If you know how to use the ranking system, you'll have an idea of how quickly something is going to sell.
So, if they're going to be listed online, it's going to be Amazon and eBay. And I go I use both marketplaces and I put things and sometimes there's crossover in terms of it. I'm just putting this on Amazon, I'm just putting this on eBay. There's there's definitely a a price point in there where it could list on both marketplaces competitively.
Sometimes Amazon prices are a lot higher than eBay, too. And I've gotten prices cuz some people just don't bother with eBay. So, I use both marketplaces.
And for items that are under that threshold, if it's a popular item or I feel like it's going to sell pretty well, like if it's metal or rock, um that's going to go to Twisted Treasures with that $5 price tag on there. If it's uh you know, and no no uh no shade to someone, let's say like Barry Manalo, who I like a lot or Jim Neighbors or you know, some somebody like that uh who doesn't have a strong popular appeal.
I'm not going to put their CDs in the store for $5 because it's probably not going to sell. So, that stuff I probably am just going to um either bulk lot it online and I've not been doing as much of that lately cuz even those those lots used to be really really popular. I could go buy literally 20,000 CDs and list what I was going to list and bulk the rest and do really well. But the bulk lots just don't sell like they used to sell. And so I've been putting them in the local auction and they don't go for a whole lot of money. But but they go and that's the that's really the key is they go. So that's where I am here. I'm going to get myself through hopefully this entire box. Maybe I'll keep track and let you know what uh I've listed some things already, but going forward and you saw what was in the box.
I'll I'll show it to you one more time.
I think I'm going to keep track and I'll give you the numbers afterwards. I would say there's probably about 60 CDs in this box. Let me show it to you.
Here's the whole box over here.
And I'm wrong on my estimate. It's actually more in the 80 CD range.
[snorts] So, uh, let's, uh, let me go ahead and I'll I'll keep track. I'll let you know how many are listing in online marketplaces like Amazon and eBay. How many are going for Twisted Treasures?
And then how many are going to be bulked? And I don't think looking at looking at what I'm seeing here, very, very, very, very few. I mean, maybe the Backstreet Boys over there will be a bulked uh uh CD, but very few of these are going to be bulk. These are all going to be fairly popular. And when I bring these, the Twisted Treasures, the ones that go there, they are going to sell very, very fast.
Okay, here's an example of something that I looked up on Amazon, then looked up on eBay and decided to go with eBay.
So, this one, it's a Black Sabbath uh album.
And uh it's going for the listing price, the lowest listing is 2905 on Amazon.
25,000. Pretty decent rank. If you look on eBay, I mean, there's an outlier there at 14, but here's $20 plus $8 shipping. So that's about 28. So it's And then this one over here is also really right around the same price that the Amazon one is uh is listed for. So I'm going to put this on eBay. It's going to take more time to put it on eBay, but I feel pretty good about eBay.
One thing I like about eBay is it does allow for offers. Uh there's there's advantages to both marketplaces, but this one I'm putting on eBay. Okay, back to listing.
There are also two other factors. One is there are a lot of uh items I can't list on Amazon. They've blocked certain and it's just it's just random. I don't know until I actually scan the UPC code. And there are some things that are just not available in the Amazon catalog. This one over here, I just tried to find this both on eBay and Amazon. And I found it on eBay and I'm going to list it on eBay, but it's just not even in Amazon's catalog. And if something is not in Amazon's catalog, I just rather not not mess with it. I don't want to create new new catalog listings for media. So, I do have restrictions on Amazon. I can list a lot of things. I mean, I'm grandfathered into a lot of it, but it seems like every day there's fewer and fewer things I can list on Amazon, so that's a factor as well.
Okay, I've gone ahead and listed that box. There were actually even more in there. And part of the reason was that some of the items were simply not in the box. I forgot that I had removed a pretty big stack to work on before I started filming. So, the total number of CDs that were there were 105.
Now, 22 of them were listed on Amazon.
Five were listed on eBay. And that was just I could have gone more on eBay than Amazon. I was trying to speed through the box because at some point tonight I want to stop working. So, there were two uh discards. One of them was uh in sync and the other one was a Barry Manalo uh CD. So, it's kind of funny cuz I mentioned Barry Manalo at the front. I didn't realize there actually would be a Barry Manalo in there. 76 went to Twisted Treasures and and the Twisted Treasures ones are $5 each. So that's 105 total CDs in that box. Um, so in terms of uh the financials uh with Twisted Treasure, since there were 76, my cat is like being a little bit aggressive right now. She's going to jump up any second. Uh, Twisted Treasures uh listed out at $380 eBay. And again, they're only five eBay CDs. In fact, I sold I sold one of them for $30 while I was listing other CDs.
So, I've actually already sold one of the CDs I've listed. Um, eBay came in at 133.95.
Amazon came in at $65578.
And the most valuable CD was this very last one that I listed. And I listed it atund [clears throat] uh $150 essentially. So, the CD total for that box is $116973.
That's really good. Now, if that had been a box 10 years ago, it probably would have been double that eas easily.
But I'm looking at it this way. It's a storage unit that I paid under $1,000 from uh $1,000 for. And it's and this had boxes and boxes and boxes of CDs.
This is just one box. I've gone through quite a few boxes. I've got some I haven't even looked at yet. It also had all the Magic the Gathering cards. It also had all the video games, the amazing video games that and a lot of the DVDs. I mean, that that storage unit might price out at this point between $40 and $50,000. So, that's a really really good storage unit. Uh, I'm glad I bought it. Uh, but yeah, the the CD is priced out for more than I paid for the entire unit. So, I'm I'm pretty happy.
Um, I'm probably not going to list any more from here, but I did promise you that I would show you that one box. So, I'm going to do that. So, that's coming up right now. And then I'm going to edit and call it a night and try to keep staying cool.
Okay. Before I begin this unboxing, and again, it's not an official unboxing cuz I have a pretty good idea what's in this box, but I just wanted to share it with you. It has been sitting, it was buried in the garage for a little while uh when I was doing most of my business here at the home office, but it came from the one unit, the RJ John Wright unit. So, it's the unit that just, you know, had that $2,000 sale from those two pieces.
And there's a lot of value that you're going to see uh in in here. So, I'm going to do this unboxing, but before I do, I did manage to list 42 items today.
I listed items at the warehouse before it got too hot. And then the stuff here.
So, I'm at 5:13 on my listing challenge.
I'm only 87 away. And today is July 21st. And you're probably saying that's plenty of time. You can do 87 listings in 10 days. But I'm going to probably be able to do some listing tomorrow. I'm expecting another short day at the warehouse. I think it's supposed to be 100°. Right now, my clock is saying 97° where I'm at. That probably means it feels like 120 or 130 in the warehouse.
So, the warehouse is just simply not a place that uh that I can be at the moment. Um, we'll see how it goes tomorrow. I definitely want to go there at a minimum and pack the orders. I want to stay caught up on the orders so far.
Let's take a quick look and see where I'm at. I don't think there's a huge number of orders. Yeah, eBay only has eight orders at the moment, and I don't know. I haven't seen much coming from other marketplaces, so it won't take me too long to do that.
And then I'd like to, if possible, get a few more of the local auction items listed. I listed several today and they are getting lots of bids. I'm so happy with the bidding. I'm at 133 items. So, if I can get the 150 tomorrow. Tomorrow, realistically, is the last day I'll be able to add to that. Uh, it's possible.
No, I might get a few more listings in there. His schedule is super busy, and I don't want him working in the warehouse in the afternoons. He's He's busy during the mornings, but maybe he'll get some time this weekend. We'll see. I know he wants to get some hours in, too. So, I think I'm I'm going to hit 600, but I'll have time tomorrow. And if I can list another 20 or 30 items from home, maybe 10 at the warehouse, that's 40 items.
That puts me 47 away. I come back on the 28th, but realistically, I've only got uh I've got family here until the 29th.
And so I'm in fact when I come back on the 28th, it's going to be fairly fairly late. We're planning to have dinner in Seattle on the way back down from Canada. So Tuesday through Tuesday is not going to happen. Wednesday, it's probably not. I've I've also uh I'm going to keep my uh business open while I'm gone, at least the eBay portion of my business. And so I'm going to have orders to pack and they're all leaving sometime Wednesday afternoon. So that may not even happen till Thursday. I literally after tomorrow may only have one real day to do that. So if I can get if I can get like 40, maybe even 50 items listed mostly by working here. So they're mostly going to be CDs, I have a chance of hitting that goal. But I've come pretty close. So okay, that's enough talking. So, this is a a big banker's box. And this is what it looks like so far inside. So, let me show you this. I'm going to put this down to give more room.
And I don't think this I don't think that this is anything over here. I have not looked at it. It's just a a train. Um this is a autographed uh cast photo from the show Sports Night. Uh you'll see something in common with all these shows with all the uh cast photos. I mean this has got uh you know a a lot of really uh pretty well-known actors. One of my one of my favorite actors actually is right over here, Robert Gome, who's passed away several years ago now. If you grew up in the 70s, you might have watched the show Benson. And oh my gosh, that was that was such a fun show. But he also is the voice Raki, I think it is, in The Lion King. Anyway, amazing actor and uh it's kind of cool that his signature is there. Here's another pretty amazing one and I think I there might be even some certificates of authenticity. This is a show that I absolutely loved. In fact, I kind of want to watch it again just because well I I like let's just say I like political political drama that's fiction. Um but the cast is the cast is amazing and this has this has the entire cast. Uh, I'm sure this is worth many hundreds of dollars.
Uh, this is another one. I think this is from Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
And there's uh there's somebody in here that's uh very much in the news these days, Timothy Busfield, for the for the wrong reasons, who I like as an actor, and he was in the West Wing as well. But this has again another amazing cast and [snorts] it has a there it is right here. This is Studio 60. This actually has the COA naming the actors. [snorts] So again, I think there's probably there's probably some some money in there. This is a script, the final draft of a script from Sports Night. I have no idea if it's signed or not. I don't know if it's uh I don't know if there's value. I mean, it's kind of hard to believe almost that there would be like what's to stop what's to stop somebody from photocopying this and putting this together. So, it just might be something that goes along with the signs. Although, maybe let's see if it actually has anything on there.
The signatures are consistent. Um, doesn't say anything about the script.
So, I was kind of wondering if the uh if the script was uh part of part of the package, so to speak.
Okay.
This is a Mickey Mantel. I'm not going to Let's see if I can get it. This is a Mickey Mantel signed baseball. It says Hall of Fame 74. This actually does have a sticker on it uh for sports gallery uh for COA. Um I had done some very brief looking and I think the HOF74 designation is going to probably give this some value. I probably before I do anything with this, I'm going to have to spend the money. Uh I know it's got this one authentication sticker, but it needs to really be a PSA. The difference between the Mickey Mantle signed baseball and the Mickey Mantel signed baseball authenticated by PSA is a significant number and I'm not 100% sure. I I I may hold on to it. Uh I've got other signed baseballs. I've got a signed Hank Aaron actually. Let me go let me go grab that. I've got a signed Hank Aaron baseball here. I got I got it as part of a collection and I'm a There's my Let's see if I can get the signature on here. There it is right there. I am a I am a huge Hank Aaron fan. I mean, my son's name is Aaron Henry. So, that should tell you how much of a fan I am of of Hank [clears throat] Aaron. That's a Steve Garvey signed baseball. I'm also a big fan of Steve Garvey, so he's in my uh he's in my collection as well.
There's actually a couple others up here. It's like multi-sign ball, but I don't think I ever figured this out.
It says um well, I'm not sure what it says. Those don't mean those don't mean a whole lot to me. You want to see something that means a lot to me? Let me show you this.
Now, you're getting a little tour of my house now.
I know a lot of you are are Beatles [snorts] fans.
I'll just take a a stack here.
My my aunt who watches these videos, I have her the album she gave me upstairs.
She she collected Beatles cards in 19, you know, 1963, 1964. She was a teenager. And so she had an entire collection and she gifted that to me which was incredibly generous and completely amazing. Uh I love it. And since then I've gone to a few card shows and I've found and I never really and I remember as a child like looking at this and like it's like wow. I was like I couldn't believe she had this. It was you know it was amazing at that point.
Maybe I was like around 15. I was probably the same age as when she got it.
and thinking, "Wow, that's amazing. You never see that. That's so old. It's 20 years old." Well, now it's 60 years old.
But since then, I've gone a few times to card shows. Actually, once is when I was in Canada at a swap meet in Vancouver, and there was a dealer selling cards.
So, every time I see them, and I have hundreds of them now, I I pick them up.
But these are original Beatles cards from 1963, 1964.
And they don't tend to go for well, they probably go for more now, but they don't tend to go for like a crazy amount of money, but every time I see them, I I buy them. So, one of my goals is to actually put together complete sets. I have not gotten to that point yet. Uh, my life is a little busy to be doing that. Let me put these Let me put these back.
There's Abby, my daughter Abby, when she was a little baby. Oh, she was so cute.
Um, but they all were cute. Yeah, these are all these are all the Beatles cards over here.
There's some color ones, too, I think.
Then I got some hockey cards as well. So yeah, I don't collect a whole lot, but those are part of my collection. They're not they're not going anywhere.
Okay, let's go ahead. I'm going to go ahead and take a look at some more. So, I showed you the mantle signed ball.
Now, I did have a couple others that were signed um that um that I was able to uh you know, able to figure out. What's really funny is like here's a sign ball over here.
Now, there's a note inside here that says unreadable except I'm able to read it. That's Willie Mays. So, that's a Willie May signed ball and that also has a uh authentication sticker. I'll hold that cuz the Willie Mays ball is probably, you know, that might be like a hundred $200. Might be more now that he's gone.
just so sad all these amazing players are gone. So that's uh that's incredibly cool. Let me go ahead and because there is some jewelry here and let me look at that before I look at um the watches.
I think there might be. It's like it's been so long since I've looked at this that I just can't tell you. Uh exactly what's here. So, it's almost like I'm seeing this for the first time now cuz honestly once I uh once I looked at this, I set it aside and it sort of stayed set. That feels like it's got stuff in there.
I think it has one more. Okay. Then there's the watches. And that'll the watches will end it.
Uh that one's an empty bag.
This one's an empty bag.
This one though has something in it.
Oh, I don't know what this is. Is it ivory?
It might be based on the collection that it came from.
This is really pretty over here, too.
It's a bracelet.
Um, this this uh the gal whose unit this was definitely had some amazing uh amazing taste. Um, I'm going to go take a look at this under the light. So, I'm going to pause this cuz it's not reacting with my magnet. I want to see if at least that part is sterling silver. So, hold on.
This is u the metal parts of this are sterling silver. It's marked. So, I think whatever this is, um, there's definitely some value here. So, I'm going to put this inside one of these others.
Now, this over here, it does say 14 karat gold.
Uh, and I'm not sure what the uh stone is. My my aunt's a little bit of an expert in this, so she's coming up for the trip. So, this says classic swirl design. Yeah, that's not what this is, though. This is actually 14 karat gold chain.
So, that's uh that's incredibly cool.
Let me go ahead and put this down. Okay, got a few more. This one, it also says 14 karat gold on here, as you can see.
Psalm 23. It's It's got some weight to it. Um, let me Oh, I dropped it. Let me go find it.
So, I think this is about three grams.
And, uh, the value of gold, 14 karat gold is about $131 a gram. So, this actually is worth about this is worth $400 right here.
Those look like maybe some pearl earrings.
Maybe this is kind of like an unboxing because I don't uh these are really pretty.
I don't I don't know if these are real.
I'm They might. They may be. They may not be uh stuff that she had was definitely both real and not real, but this one has a kind of a blue stone there. And I'm going to see if it uh it's not interacting with uh it's not interacting with a magnet. So, it looks like it's got a stone and it looks like it's uh 14. It looks like it's silver. It's it's probably 925 silver.
These kind of look like cuff links.
I know it's hard to uh Let me do it this way. No, they're not cuff links.
It's definitely got some uh Yes, it's going to Nope. It's not real.
[laughter] That's how you test. Not real. So, these two are not These two are definitely not real. So, I'm going to remove this uh because it's not real.
Okay, that's an empty box.
Let me go ahead and turn it around.
This says QVC. Uh here's the QVC thing over here. 14 karat gold. Um I think they're earrings.
So then they've got some sort of like pearl or something, but these ones aren't though. So this might actually be worth one of those things that's worth a few hundred as well.
This one came out of this long box here.
And I think this is going to be costume jewelry. It's uh it does have a Nordstrom's uh tag on here.
Let me show it to you. It's got a necklace and it's got matching earrings.
Let me see if it passes the magnet test.
But there was definitely I remember in this unit, in fact, some of it is listed for sale. Some of it I sold with weight on whatnot uh early on which was went really well but some really high-end I mean this is for sale at Nordstroms.
It's high-end stuff.
Okay.
This is not reacting to the magnet at all. So it doesn't mean that it's precious metal. Doesn't mean that it's gold. I'm going to take a quick look though to see if I can see any markings.
I couldn't see any obvious markings on here. So, that's something that's probably just going to have to be tested further.
So, I've got one more.
Got all sorts of stuff in here.
Let's see what this is. This is like a uh like a time piece uh keychain or something. It's really interesting.
uh afterthoughts. It's not uh it's not precious metal though.
This one is probably is not real because the uh the clasp is interacting with the magnet. So, it almost looks like it opens up like a locket, but I can't figure it out right now. It's really interesting.
I have no idea what this is. I'll have to I'll image search that. I mean, these almost look like uh Strongwater pieces to be honest cuz there were several Strong Water pieces part of that uh collection. So, that might be what that is. That might be Strong Water.
So, the last thing I have are watches.
And I did do a little bit of research on the watches and I've been talking about these watches, how I want to go ahead and and I just didn't get that done.
There's actually a couple of other jewelry items here like uh earrings.
So, I'll put that with the jewelry.
And like I said, I had done some research. These these three watches I must have not gotten around to research, but this one over here, and they're beautiful watches.
Um, this one sold for $500 on eBay when I researched that a year ago.
This one says $800 in the name of the watch, which is a 78487000 or the model number. So that's $1,300 in watches.
This one's a Seikko.
It does not have a price on it, but it has the model number on it. So, I'll look that up. I bet that's worth at least a few hundred if I've set it aside like this. So, that's probably $1,600 worth of watches. This one is actually a Timex a Timex, but it's a really cool one. Uh, $300, so $1,900.
That's a Seikko $400. So, $2,300.
And this one's not uh that actually has Apollo NASA on it. So, I don't think this one's probably worth very much money. So, well over $2,000 worth of watches.
Anyway, there you go. Little bit of a kind of an unboxing. The jewelry was definitely kind of a surprise to me because I had not seen it in a while and I forgot actually how much gold was in this box. I for some reason I thought it was costume. So, it was kind of cool to see gold. Of course, the Mickey Mantel signed baseball. I mean, I'm going to take a look and see if I can see what that's selling for right now. Okay, there's the baseball.
There's a sold price that's PSA certified of 23.95.
And there are Here's one that's up for sale for $39.99.
$ 69.99 $99.99. Okay. $199,000 is kind of insane.
It's kind of all all over. But if it seems like if it's got that HOF designation, it's going to go for more. And these two are probably out of reach. That one may not be though.
I think the key is to get it PSA certified. And that's the starting point and then I'll decide what to uh what to do with it. But yep, that's uh that's going to do it for me today. I hope you enjoyed it. I didn't think I'd have very much filming today, but I actually did I think I got more filming than I than I thought I would. I hope you like that box. Uh, it's quite a box that that unit um like per for the size of a unit and the amount I paid for was probably the best unit I've I've had. That was only like a 5x10 unit. It was not big, but it is crazy uh what I pulled out of there.
And there's still stuff that I haven't listed. I know there is um there's some pretty cool pieces there's some pretty cool pieces too that haven't been listed yet that I will um some of them are fairly large. They're glass. Um they're things that I'm scared to uh ship.
[laughter] But maybe I'll uh I'll do something local. I'm not sure I'm going to put those up for like a dollar in the local auction. I I love the local auction. But these are worth hundreds or possibly even $1,000. Um, but I will work on it.
I'm I'm motivated. Um, yeah, the CD collection, you know, amazing. It's that to get an entire box worth over $1,000 is uh is pretty incredible. And I think in that unit there were 10 10 of those boxes.
So that's probably like a uh $10,000 just just in the CDs. Um and there was that one that there was a you know $1,000 one and another one that I listed for $500. So yeah, good good stuff. Okay. Well, join me tomorrow. Uh don't forget uh I I would have before I did all this, I was going I'll have inserted the the information about the coins. Let me go take a quick look. I have to commit to this with my right hand so I can use my left hand to see how many subscribers I've got. Oh, I've been losing subscribers. I was at 1907 and now I'm only at 1905. What? People are not liking me. Okay, that's okay.
So, we're on a slow roll to uh 1925. Uh gain a couple, lose a couple, but we'll get there. Uh hope you like this video.
So, if you want a chance to win some of those coins, just comment. Even just say hi. But I love reading the comments. I'm responding to all of them. And I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
