High temperatures in the low to mid 90s to start the week in VirginiaAdded:
All right, so we're just going to be feeling the heat for the next 3 days and then a big drop in those temperatures comes Thursday with our frontal system.
The cooler air mass settling in for Friday. I think Friday we're just going to have a lot of clouds overhead.
Temperatures unlikely to make it out of the 60s and then Saturday and Sunday as we go towards Memorial Day weekend, we are looking for those temperatures to become more seasonable. So it is dry for the most part. It's the last of the clouds. You can see it's really thinning out, pivoting out across the Atlantic Ocean. We still have a couple of days of this more sunny weather to enjoy. So Tuesday is looking just as nice and then this system does have a pretty potent thunderstorm center with it. So we are looking at a pretty good line of some heavy rain, lightning and thunderstorms, but it will weaken by the time it reaches us and it's not going to arrive until Wednesday evening, which is actually good because that's going to be a little bit cooler, not providing as much energy. So any thunderstorms will be more minimal rather than it if it moved through mid-afternoon. Then it's going to pivot through the area during the day on Thursday. So Thursday on and off showers from start to finish. That's probably going to be your wettest day and then Friday still seeing some showers lingering. So just a marginal risk to see some stronger weather on Wednesday night into early Thursday. All right, 94 for today, mostly sunny, clear for tonight with a light wind. Checking out your next 7 days, it's looking like we are going to be close to these record highs, but doesn't look like we're going to be breaking any records for the next [music] 3 days. We'll keep an eye on that. But uh again, so much needed rain.
So hopefully by the end of the work week we'll have at least seen about an inch on average across the Commonwealth as we desperately need it. And then just a slight chance of a thunderstorm Saturday and Sunday.
