Table Mountain Fire burns 100 acres in Catalina Mountains

[00:00:13]>> Andrew, crews say that they made progress overnight by building containment lines and working hot spots.

[00:00:21]This morning, no flames or smoke were reported.

[00:00:27]The Table Mountain fire has now burned an estimated 100 acres and remains 0% contained. Large air tankers and multiple types of helicopters are being used to support firefighters on the ground delivering supplies and making water drops in steep remote terrain.

[00:00:46]Fire crews will continue working the perimeter and mopping up hot spots including stool rollouts which require individually checking vegetation for hidden heat. There are currently no evacuation orders in place and while the Rose Canyon Campground and surrounding hiking trails remain open, Rose Canyon Lake remains closed.

[00:01:09]>> Rose Canyon Lake is closed to the public because it is being used as a dip site for the helicopters. However, the Rose Canyon Campground and surrounding trails are all open to the public.
