While the correlation between multilingualism and neural resilience is compelling, we should remain cautious of such reductive, headline-friendly quantifications of "brain age." Nevertheless, it reinforces the vital truth that a disciplined, curious mind remains our most effective defense against biological decay.

Science Reveals the Ultimate Secret to a Younger Brain | Learning a 2nd Language Rewires Your Mind
Added:Police spend billions chasing the fountain of youth. They buy supplements, solve puzzles, download brain training apps.
But scientists say one of the most powerful anti-aging tools may be much more simpler.
I did say police, but I meant to say is people.
New study shows that learning a new language helps slow the brain aging process, is the report.
>> Imagine if your brain had a reset button. Not one that erased memories, but one that kept your mind flexible, alert, and resilient as the years rolled by.
Scientists now believe learning another language may come remarkably close.
A new study presented at the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies Forum 2026 has found that multilingual people [music] tend to have younger brains than those who speak only one language.
Using [music] brain scans, artificial intelligence, and data from more than 700 participants, [music] researchers discovered that the more languages people spoke, the younger their brains appeared.
The findings are remarkable.
People who spoke two languages had brains that appeared about six years younger.
Those fluent in three languages gained an even greater advantage.
People speaking four languages had brains that looked up to 13 years younger than their actual age.
So, why does [music] language make such a difference?
Because every conversation is a mental workout.
Your brain constantly switches between [music] vocabularies, filters distractions, recalls words, interprets meaning, and makes split-second decisions.
This strengthens neural connections and builds what neuroscientists call cognitive reserve, the brain's ability [music] to withstand aging and disease.
Bilingual brains also often show healthier brain structure and greater resilience to age-related decline.
Scientists stop short of calling language learning a miracle cure.
Exercise, good sleep, education, social connection, and a healthy lifestyle all protect the [music] brain. But, multilingualism is increasingly recognized as one of those powerful habits.
The message is simple.
Learning another language is no longer just about traveling abroad or boosting your career. It could be one of the smartest long-term investments you ever make for your brain.
>> Now, this next report is a little bit weird and bizarre.
Uganda's army chief, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is back in the headlines.
The son of President Yoweri Museveni has once again sparked controversy after publicly declaring that he wants to marry global music icon Beyoncé.
Kainerugaba, Uganda's chief of defense forces, recently repeated his wish to marry Beyoncé in a series of social media posts. The posts, which have been now been deleted, even announced a plan demonstration called I am here, Beyoncé.
Drawing widespread attention online. In another post, the 52-year-old general gave Jay-Z a 1-week ultimatum to surrender his wife. Even threatened to take the matter to the United Nations if his demands are ignored. This is not the first time Kainerugaba has publicly targeted the celebrity couple. Last year, he claimed Jay-Z admired his woman and even challenged the rapper to a fight in Uganda. Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z has responded to the remarks.
Kainerugaba, who is widely seen as a possible successor to his father, President Yoweri Museveni, is known for making provocative social media posts [music] that often trigger public debate and diplomatic controversies.
