The meeting attracted huge political attention after retired Zimbabwe Defense Forces Air Commander General Valerio Sibanda officially attended the Politburo session following his recent co-option into the ruling party's powerful decision-making structure.
Opening his remarks, he President Mnangagwa called for a moment of silence to honor national heroes and heroines who passed away since the previous Politburo meeting. He said the sacrifices made by liberation war fighters and loyal party cadres must always be remembered.
The president then gave a special welcome to General Sibanda, also known during the liberation struggle as a comrade Kwenzi. Mnangagwa praised the retired military commander's experience and liberation war credential saying his contribution would strengthen the party's development agenda and ideological direction.
Political analysts are already interpreting the move as significant, especially considering General Sibanda's long history within Zimbabwe's security establishment and liberation movement structures.
Mnangagwa used the occasion to reinforce ZANU-PF's commitment to national values, cultural identity, and economic transformation. He said Zimbabwe's traditional knowledge system and heritage remain important pillars in the country's modernization and industrialization drive.
The president also reflected on the recently concluded cultural month's celebration held across the country.
According to Mnangagwa the event successfully promoted Zimbabwe's diverse cultures while educating young people about national identity and heritage.
He warned against using cultural different to divide the citizen, stressing that no culture is greater than another. Instead, he said diversity must strengthen social cohesion and national unity.
Mnangagwa commended Bulawayo province, the Minister of Sports, and various stakeholders for successfully hosting this this year's cultural commemoration.
On On continental affairs, the ZANU-PF leader declared that African's vision for unity and integration must continue without fear or apology. He said African nations must work together politically and economically to secure long-term prosperity.
As the ruling party prepares for upcoming constitutional meetings next month, Mnangagwa instructed chairperson of standing committees to prepare reports outlining progress within their departments. The president further urged politburo members to serve with a revolutionary discipline, ideological clarity, integrity, and servant leadership. One of the most interest section of the speech come when Mnangagwa encouraged the adoption of digital technology.
He said modern technology should improve communication, efficiency, and strategic planning within the ruling party.
The president also spoke strongly about women empowerment and the youth inclusion under the second republic. He said his administration remains committed to create opportunity for women and young people in both public and private institution. Mnangagwa pointed to the appointment of Zimbabwe's first female chief justice and female auditor general as evidence that women are increasingly taking lead taking leading roles in national governance.
On party finance, the president said all members must take responsibility for ensuring ZANU-PF remains financially sustainable.
He said that party resources should be directed towards the impactful project capable of producing visible results for community.
The president also celebrated recent investment project commissioned under his administration including the Varun Beverages production line and the Global Solar project. According to Mnangagwa, those investment prove that both local and international investors continue to show confidence in his government's and economic direction. He warned against politicizing investment project or using them to create division among citizen.
Instead, he said all Zimbabweans should celebrate development regardless of where project are located because national investment benefit the entire country.
Reaffirming his government's economic strategy, Mnangagwa declared that Zimbabwe remains open for business and committed to protecting investment and his address, the president called on party leaders to work with the patriotism, discipline, and unity of purpose. He emphasized that leadership must always be demonstrated through action and positive example.
