In Indian state politics, outgoing Chief Ministers often negotiate for continued influence through mechanisms like state-level coordination committees, which allow them to maintain a role in governance even after stepping down, while their close aides and family members may be inducted into the new cabinet to preserve their political legacy and maintain party unity during power transitions.

Karnataka Cabinet: Outgoing CM Seeks Coordination Committee & Son's Induction In New GovtAdded:
It's a big scoop from Karnataka on the new D.K. Shivakumar cabinet. India today has accessed probable names of new ministers.
Sources say Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra will be inducted. His aide, Siddaramaiah's aides are [music] Ponnanna, B. Suresh may get berths. G.
Parameshwara, Priyank Kharge to be retained. Other probable names making the rounds [music] H.C. Mahadevappa, M.B. Patil, Krishna B.Y. Gowda, Santosh Lad, Dinesh Gundurao, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Malinda Reddy, Rizwan Arshad, U.T. Khader, Sharath Bachegowda are the names that are making the rounds. A mix of especially the OBCs, the Dalits, [music] young blood, something that Rahul Gandhi wanted. I want to cut across to my colleague Anagha Keshav who's breaking this news along with Rahul Gautam.
Anagha, what's the word that's coming in from Karnataka?
>> Well, in fact, the names that you just read out, most of them belong to Siddaramaiah's faction. So, therefore, even if D.K. Shivakumar does become the Chief Minister, he's at the end, you know, end of the day surrounded by the close, strong aides of the or, you know, of Siddaramaiah. And that's why, you also wants to make sure that he has an active role in state politics. In fact, we also do know that Siddaramaiah is negotiating to form a state-level coordination committee between the party and the government to make sure that even though he's not a Chief Minister, he can still have a role to play in governments. In fact, last time that such a coordination committee existed was when JD(S) Congress alliance existed in Karnataka. Back it was then because of lack of a majority government such a coordination committee existed. But this time around, we do have single majority government in Karnataka. The Congress High Command is reconsidering the ask that's put forward by Siddaramaiah. But we still need to wait to see if indeed the High Command will budge and make sure that there is a state level coordination committee for which Siddaramaiah will be the chairman.
>> Stay with me Anaga. I want to bring in Rahul Gautam who's tracking the developments back here in Delhi. Rahul, it does seem that Siddaramaiah might have stepped down from being Chief Minister, but he's got his way in multiple ways. Number one, son gets inducted in all probability into the cabinet.
Uh the strongman of Siddaramaiah, uh his camp being inducted, retained, and uh also a coordination committee that he has asked for from the central high command will be established.
>> What is the Siddaramaiah >> ship is currently possessed by Siddaramaiah because of the fact that uh you know, uh that he transferred the power without any hitch. Uh there was no glitch. Uh the uh power transition were absolutely smooth with one go.
Uh you know, when Rahul Gandhi asked to step down, uh uh he resigned. So, clearly uh party uh wants to honor him. And therefore, all the demands which are being put forward by Siddaramaiah are being uh seriously considered. As far as Yatindra's uh cabinet induction is concerned, you've been informed that it is being seriously looked into.
Apart from this, there are several names that you yourself mentioned, uh you know, like Krishna Byre Gowda, M. B.
Patil, uh K. J. George, G. Parameshwara, uh U. T. Khader, uh uh Zameer Ahmed. All these people actually belongs to the camp of Siddaramaiah. And therefore, he's strongly pushing uh these names that that they should be inducted into uh you know, cabinet as and also uh this would also essentially give a control to Siddaramaiah uh to push uh you know, strings or to push things here and there. Then obviously, the coordination committee comes. Now, uh there is there are there there are provisions for coordination >> also pointing out that it may send a wrong signal or wrong message uh to the a of Karnataka that despite the fact that Congress is the single largest party, they're having a coordination committee. If there's no coordination between government and party, then therefore it may it may be a bad optics.
So, the third one is something which is still being not on the table as as I see, but the other two things are being seriously considered and being looked into. You have to understand that you know you know Ramayya sitting in Bangalore city and an ordinary MLA would not suit a Congress party given the stature that Siddaramaiah enjoys. He's one of the one of the top most you know OBC leaders of Karnataka, one of the last mass leaders of Congress party you know in in South India, possibly in country also. Therefore, they would not want him to to to >> All right, we seem to have lost your audio, Rahul. All right, Anaga and Rahul, thank you both for joining us.
