This video examines how progressive political discourse has evolved to normalize radical positions, with comedians like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel helping shift the Overton window by making jokes about controversial topics such as social murder and political violence. The content argues that the mainstream Democratic Party has become increasingly radical, with figures like Hakeem Jeffries calling for 'breaking the spirit' of political opponents and proposals to eliminate the Supreme Court and electoral college. The video contrasts this with the Republican Party's internal power dynamics, where Donald Trump's dominance means candidates who oppose his initiatives face electoral defeat, as demonstrated by Thomas Massie's decline from 81% to under 50% primary support. The analysis suggests that both major parties have moved toward more extreme positions, with the left normalizing radicalism through mainstream media and comedy, while the right consolidates power around a single leader.

Lefties Losing It: Why Stephen Colbert's show won't be missedHinzugefügt:
It's time for Lefty's losing edge. Let's start with this lovely young woman who like so many progressives has an important point to make and she makes it in such a dignified manner. This is inspiring.
Now to Manhattan where Jason Bateman seems to have really let himself go.
Wait, apparently it's not Jason Bateman.
I'm not convinced. Staying in New York, let's hear from its socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani. Here he rewrites Ronald Reagan's famous quote. Uh Zohran, you are exactly who Reagan was warning us about. I cannot help but think of the words of our 40th president, Ronald Reagan.
He famously said, "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
It's a good quote, but I disagree.
I think nine more terrifying words are actually I worked all day and can't feed my family. Yeah, I can't afford to feed my kids cuz I live in a socialist hellhole. Now, I've got some good news for you. She's back, everyone's favorite podcaster with the weird voice and even weirder smile. She's back to push a hard left Democrat on us, but first a little reminder of Jamie Kern Lima's most notable work. And I think so many people also have this question for you is, you know, Megan, how are you and are you okay? That's so kind. I am. I'm better than okay.
Oh good god, that's so painful. Well, Jamie is back this time to try to normalize a weirdo Texan Democrat James Salad Fingers. It's hard to work out who you'd work harder to avoid at a dinner party out of these two, but let's give Jamie Kern Lima some credit for asking the really tough questions. Are you single?
Are you single? So, you have a girlfriend? I do.
>> Of many years? I do. Um and she is she is my rock. She is my best friend. I I don't know if I could have gotten through the last 6 months of this crazy race if um if she hadn't been by my side. So, um yeah, thanks for asking about about her. Do you want kids one day? What do What do you What can you share with us about her? [laughter] Enough. Enough of that. That's all I can stomach. You know, if I were asking him questions, I wouldn't be asking about the alleged girlfriend or his desire to have children. I would ask, "What was he thinking when he said trans kids were his most cherished thing after friends and family?" Something that you love that's not family or friends.
Um I love I'm just saying this cuz it's on my mind, the trans children who showed up yesterday at the state capital to advocate for their humanity. Told you, weirdo. Total weirdo. And a weirdo who's obsessed with his own whiteness and alleged masculinity. For me, prophetic voices like Jesus have helped me reckon with my own whiteness, my own masculinity, my own certainty. It's a historic night, folks. It is the last episode of the Colbert Report. The awful ratings and high cost of the program have finally led to its downfall, but we will always have these cherished memories.
>> [music] [music] >> I'm as shattered as you are. Don't know how we're going to be picking up the pieces of our life and just trying to carry on without this sort of comedic genius in our lives. Mr. Trump, your presidency, I love your presidency. I call it disgrace the nation. You attract more skinheads than Rogaine.
You have more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign language gorilla who got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin's holster. Republicans can eat a How about that?
Oh, you know what? You know what?
>> [cheering] >> You know what? In fact, let's be generous. They can eat a bag of Now, Donald Trump has had another resounding victory in eliminating his opponents out of the GOP. This time it was Thomas Massie in Kentucky. Here is CNN's Harry Enten. It's no surprise at all because the bottom line is this, Donald Trump is the general of the Republican Party and the Republican primary vote voters are his soldiers.
And if you look at Thomas Massie, you can see it very clearly. You look in 2020, 2022, 2024. He was getting 75%, upwards of 81% of the primary vote in 2020 and today he gets less than 50% of the vote. That's the story. Let's bring in documentary filmmaker and commentator Army Horowitz. Army, how can you go from 81% of the primary vote to losing? What happened in Kentucky?
Whose house? Trump's house. YEAH.
MASSIE, you just found out who runs the Republican Party, buddy, and it ain't you and your woke right friend. Yeah, that was the first kind of many uh uh we're going to be having between the woke right and uh and the normal right. Um and yeah, look, this was an example of him, Massie, being somebody who is just obstructionist, completely and all the way. And by the way, the obstructionism, that's the good part of Thomas Massie, okay? The fact that he didn't uh When I say good, I mean, I'm sorry, not the worst part of Thomas Massie, I should say. Um the fact that he would he went against every single one of Trump's major initiatives, okay? Um and and then again, uh you know, when you say that that Donald Trump is is uh hiding uh child sex trafficking ring, right? Uh which is what he did repeatedly over and over again, that's not going to help with getting the president in your good graces. But the real problem with him is that Okay, so the support he was It's very impressive what Massie was able to do. He was able to get support of the radical left, Hasan the Young Turks, and of course, uh neo-Nazis. So, that's something, right? That's not nothing. Um and yeah, when I When I say neo-Nazi, I mean that literally. Like Ryan Matta was somebody who has a went to a fundraiser, a meeting with him, and people said it was impressive he met with Ryan Matta. Yeah, cuz Ryan Matta is a Nazi. The man wore a American Reich sweatshirt with a picture of Thomas Massie. That's who Massie really is. Uh and this is the same guy who who who talked about how amazing it was his wet dreams about um American soldiers being captured by the Iranians. So, yeah, Thomas Massie, good riddance to you.
Now, let's hear from Hakeem Jeffries making some strange comments about wanting to break the spirit of Trump supporters. I guess part of how we as House Democrats view this moment, either MAGA extremists are going to break the country or we're going to break them.
And our goal is to break them. We will defeat them.
>> [applause] >> We have to beat them electorally and then we have to break their spirit because of the extremism that's being unleashed on the American people that's completely and totally unacceptable. I mean, I thought we were lowering the temperature after the third attempt on President Trump's life, but there you have it. Hakeem Jeffries calling his opponents mega extremists and he wants to break their spirit, whatever that means.
Yeah, I mean, I was surprised a little bit and only in that I don't know. I think I didn't find those comments.
Look, I guess my I I I I guess that my my it's lowered the threshold of what makes me upset because of how bad things have gotten. I guess I guess that's on me, not on you, Rita. Okay? Just just a personal kind of tale about where I am in the world. Um but it of course it speaks to this this the level of violence that of course is coming from almost exclusively from the left. think by the way it's going to sit in the left forever. Um but certainly for now what we've seen in the past all coming from the left. And again, it it goes back to you know, I can't stop talking about Mangione. And and that's really the kind of this weird breaking and the changing of the Overton window for me, okay? Um the fact that he is getting his he has a fan base and and this permission structure, right? This consent structure that we've seen across mainstream left, right? Not the extremist left. And you have people like Bill Burr and Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, you know, making jokes about it in in a supportive way. You know, that's really what it comes down to. It really moves the Overton window to say, "Look, um you know, this idea of social murder, right? That's that's the thing that this concept that uh Jon Pike talked about saying is a good thing." Well, like look, if you run uh you know, a healthcare system in this case and and we deem you responsible for people's deaths, that you have a responsibility to kill not that it's just good. You're responsible to kill this person. Let us extrapolate that out. I mean, who else are you responsible to kill? Police officers, they say policing leads to the death of black people, right? Well, then it's open season on police officers, right? That's a good, you know, or or you know, you want to take it even further, white supremacy leads to the oppression and the killing of all brown people. Well, anybody who's white is I know this sounds crazy, Rita, but it's really not. This is where things are moving to and yeah, I just don't like the rhetoric that people are using and it again it reminds me every single Trump would people try to assassinate Trump three times, Rita.
Three times and we've kind of almost forgotten about them. We don't talk about them at all anymore. It's really it's horrific.
And that capacity for violence, that acceptance of violence, we saw that with those three young women this week who were the Luigi fan girls. And they were just bold as brass army, not just justifying murder, but celebrating it, even mocking the the children of the murdered victim. Um and they have feel no shame. They do that openly in front of cameras.
They don't feel again, they don't feel shame because they feel like they're allowed they have a consent to do this from the mainstream, from the media, from the comedians. So, yeah, no, of course they feel like they feel no shame because they think they're doing a public good. The manageristas, that's the term for it, Rita. It's totally absurd and crazy and this is leading us down a really dark dark hole.
Now, let's go to LA where Mayor Karen Bass was asked whether non-citizens should be be to vote. I know that there are some cities that already do this, but you know, politics is all about timing.
With Donald Trump in the White House, is this the right time for Los Angeles to go down this path? Well, I think we need to explore it. Now, I've not seen exactly what he's calling for.
Um I have a little familiarity of what happens in other cities, and uh for example, some cities will allow people to vote in like city council and school board elections. She wants to explore it. I mean, I can see this being the next battleground, the left demanding non-citizens have representation. They deserve representation.
THE PARTY OF DEMOCRACY, RITA. THE PARTY OF DEMOCRACY.
I MEAN, what do you mean you see it go Rita? I'm trying to call you out. What do you mean you see it going elsewhere? It has already got the we're down that road. We already have gone down that road. In the California gubernatorial elections, they asked people, "Hey, do you support non-citizens voting?" And of course, the left members of running raised their hands saying, "Yes, it's been done already. DC, Chicago, San Francisco, New York." New York voted. New York voted.
City Council voted to have non-citizens vote. It was struck down by the Supreme Court. Why was it struck down, Rita?
Because it is illegal. I don't know, am I crazy Am I the crazy one here? Look, this is nothing new. This is what the party of democracy is all about. Look, in the one of the most underreported stories of the year, Hakeem Jeffries on the secret call was talking about the Virginia Supreme Court, right? Because they struck down their illegal radical crazy gerrymandering. And he said, "Yeah, why don't we low Let's Here's what we want to do. We want to get rid of the Supreme Court." He did it, I got to admit, in a very brilliant way, by saying, "Let's lower the age from 73 to 54." Because the youngest person on the Supreme Court was 55. [clears throat] Okay?
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. But again, not exactly democracy like. You know I'm talking about, but what do you expect from Hakeem Jeffries who called the Supreme Court illegitimate? We just saw Kamala Harris. Sorry, it's hard for me to remember her name cuz she's such a nothing anymore.
Yet she made the news because she had a let's have a all hands meeting talking about any idea is good. Yeah, I don't think that's actually true. Packing the Supreme Court, of course that that's on the agenda.
Getting rid of the electoral college is coming a big thing on the left. The left eats institution. They want to destroy institution. They're normalizing radicalism. It's making my videos hard to do, Rita, because my thing was like I'm showing how radical the left is, but now the mainstream of the Democratic Party is becoming just as radical as the left. So I can't do these videos anymore because everyone is like that in the Democratic Party. Look, one last thing on this topic. The framers, they studied democracies in the past. Like they didn't just come up with this this constitution thing. And they saw we don't want to have a direct democracy.
They knew we have mob rule. They wanted to limit the direct ability for people to change the system. But the left doesn't care about that. They want to burn it all down. And that's what we're seeing here.
Yep, we're saying them increasingly saying the quiet bits out loud and then they have taken the mask off and we're seeing the whole ugly picture.
Now, I want to play you the latest ad put together by Spencer Pratt's supporters. It's another good one. I'm not MAGA or anything.
But the city's kind of gone to though, right? Oh yeah.
Jessica stepped on a needle at the playground the other day.
I'm not MAGA or anything though. I'm not MAGA or anything, but have you been downtown lately?
Looks like an episode of The Walking Dead.
Not that I'm MAGA or anything, though.
Spencer Pratt seems like he has some good ideas.
Not that I'm MAGA or anything. He does seem really angry all the time, though.
Well, they did burn his house down. I mean, the New York Times is already blaming Donald Trump if Spencer Pratt loses. They're saying the president's praise will doom the outsider's campaign. I mean, he is a massive outsider here. The fact that he's even within striking distance just tells you how well he's done so far.
Oh my goodness. That was so funny.
I've already watched it three times, and it's still it He burned his house down.
Yeah, they did. They did. Um that was so good. Look, first of all, I want to say I want to meet the casting director because they didn't You didn't show the clip, but everyone that showed the wives also They're the most attractive people I've ever seen in a political commercial in my entire life. Usually they're trolls, but not in the case in this case. Spencer Spencer Pratt knows what he's doing when he hires people. Um you know, also, look, he obviously made a splash on his uh on these advertisements, but um By the way, most of those AI ones that made the you know, the most noise were not made by his campaign. They're really grassroots generated and created, which kind of gives you a sense of what's going on in Los Angeles and the the the the real depth of support that he's got.
Um yeah, the polls are really fascinating in in LA, right? My the party of the place of my birth.
Um that you In the last poll uh you saw you saw him kind of further back from and in fact behind both Democrats, uh but a very large undecided group in that race. And in the most recent poll, he's gained a lot of steam, um and that undecided is shrinking, and it seems like most of them are moving toward Pratt. That's amazing. Um look, no one in LA Look, I'm in LA all the time, right? My still there. I'm in there all the time. And and you rarely find anybody in LA who disagree that the city itself is disintegrating. Crime and homelessness are are are are moving up. The problem is, and the reason why she is still leading and might win, is because a large portion of population doesn't care. They think fighting crime and fighting homelessness is racist. And they don't want that. They still they really I have to I have to admit I'm it's on the fresh. They'd rather live a worse life, a more dangerous life, a lower quality of life, and stick to their idiotic principles. So, I guess that's some kind of kudos. Um Raman, uh the the straight-up communist, she said that public safety is overfunded.
What? What is happening?
>> Bass, despite of saying that complete dysfunction is still leading the polls.
Uh Ami Horowitz, thank you so much for your time tonight.
