[00:00:00]What is up everybody? We have Walmart shoplifter returns after stealing thousands and it doesn't end well. This is when Walmart gets you. It's when you've come in the store over and over and over again and they have proof of you stealing a lot of merchandise.

[00:00:18]You'll probably get away with it once or twice, but if you keep going at it, if you keep stealing from them, they're going to get you and they're going to get it so they could press felony charges. That's how these stores operate. Just so you know, just because you think, "Oh, you're a hot shot and you stole once." Oh, trust me, they know. They know everything. These stores are very sophisticated now. So, here we go.

[00:00:55]>> Police arrive at a Walmart where loss prevention is currently watching a woman who looks like she's shopping but is actively switching tags by removing stickers of lowpriced items around 99 and then placing them on top of the barcodes of higher priced items, hoping to selfch checkckout her way to some serious savings. But little does she know the advanced camera systems of this Walmart.

So, this is not new technology. This has been around for a long time.

[00:16:14]>> In the end, Amanda is sentenced to 10 years in prison for the following reasons and charges. This may sound excessive, but here is the breakdown.

[00:16:22]The three charges are theft, criminal trespass, and obstruction of a police officer. Amanda did take under $500 of clothes from Walmart. Normally, that is a misdemeanor, but Georgia law makes it a felony if the person has three prior shoplifting convictions. Court records list three prior shoplifting convictions from Barber, one in 2019, and two in 2021. So, this case was charged under the felony recidivis provision, which carries 1 to 10 years in prison.

[00:16:51]Criminal trespass is when prosecutors say she knowingly entered Walmart after being told she was not allowed on the property and obstruction of a police officer. This is a misdemeanor where she ran from or otherwise resisted officers while they were performing their legal duties. Now, a key reason to her receiving 10 years is the fact that it was a felony shoplifting enhancement under 16-8-14 for repeat shoplifterss, which allows a sentence anywhere from 1 to 10 years regardless of the value of items taken.

[00:17:25]The court used her prior record and the new trespass and obstruction as aggravating factors and gave the top end range for the sentencing. As always, let me know what you guys think down below.

Like that doesn't even make any sense. Um one two he also said the coffee doesn't agree with him. So obviously he was like running to the point where he got sick because he just had a cup of coffee and then he had to chase this broad around the Walmart parking lot. If she would have kept running, I think she would have gotten away. Now eventually they probably would have caught her because they would have had an address on her and they would have just went to her house to get her.

[00:20:13]But who knows? Maybe they would have like maybe they would have been like, "Oh, it's not even worth our time.

[00:20:24]And she would have gotten away. She would have just kept running. There's a lot of things that could have happened here that didn't. And now Amanda Barber, um, I'm going to have to look her up on Google and see if she's actually in prison or if they let her out. 10 years though, I imagine she's probably not going to do the full 10, but I imagine she's in jail right now. Uh, at least for half of it. And then she'll probably get parrolled and on probation and all that.

[00:20:54]But she's going to have to do some time for sure. 10 years. She's going to have to do some time, at least like two or three years before even the possibility of parole or getting out on good behavior or whatever.
