The video correctly identifies that government-run retail is an inefficient solution to supply chain problems, though its aggressive framing simplifies a complex economic issue. It serves as a blunt reminder that political intervention cannot easily bypass the fundamental laws of production costs.

The media just realized Mamdani is AN IDIOT.Added:
Hey guys, welcome to the Liberal Hivemind, a channel solely focused on exposing the abundant hypocrisy of the left. And of course, here's the meme of the day brought to you by fivemind.com.
You know, I swear I'm not doing it on purpose. It's not a conscious effort that I'm making to release so many Zoran Mani videos. And honestly, it's not like they perform so much better than my regular videos. It's just that there's so much meat on the bone. And not just any meat, but like high quality, just tender fall off the bone kind of meat.
You want to expose the broken ideology of the left? Well, there it is. It's happening in real time with this guy.
Everything we know to be a failure. This guy is spearheading and he's doing so with such incredible arrogance as if he's figured everything out. Zoran Mani is the warning sign of how to not run a city, the perfect package of failed left-wing ideology. And once again, he proves it. This time with his supposedly free grocery stores. We just got the details of his city plan. And apparently they're spending, get ready for this, $30 million to put up the first store.
It's a crash course on leftwing stupidity. I got to show you guys what's going on, but this video is actually brought to you guys by a sponsor. So, let's first play that clip. This video is brought to you by American Hartford Gold. Folks, what can I say other than buy gold and ask questions later? I'm sure you guys have seen how gold as an asset has performed over the last couple of years. We're looking at roughly a 3x since Joe Biden's inflation crisis. And you know that really there is the message. The ugly insidious tax known as inflation. Many people across the world have essentially learned the lesson that you need to be holding assets of stored value. And in most cases, that means securing your hard-earned wealth in physical assets like gold and silver.
And friends, that's where our longtime friends at American Hartford Gold come into play. They're the absolute best in the business. We're talking five-star ratings across the board and an A+ at the Better Business Bureau. We're talking the best in the business. And all it takes is a simple phone call.
Just call in and they'll either send physical gold and silver straight to your doorstep or they can help you add it to your IRA or 401k. We're talking basically zero hassle and all your gold investing needs met. And of course, might as well add a little bit of sugar to sweeten the pot. American Hartford Gold is also running a special right now where you can get up to $15,000 in free silver on qualifying purchases. All you got to do is call 8444-441005.
That's 844-441005.
Or just text Hivemind one word to 65532.
That's hivemind one word to 65532. Make the call, make the text, and get your finances right with American Hard for Gold. Now, back to the video. All right, friends. So, let's take a look at the latest report. Look at this. Bum Donnie moving ahead with his plan to open government-run grocery stores, announcing the first of five sites will be up and running next year. Fox business correspondent Madison Alworth reports live from our New York City newsroom. A lot of people are saying it takes a year to open a grocery store.
>> And a lot of money, too, John. This first store is going to cost $30 million. That's nearly half of the $70 million budget that Mayor Mandani has proposed for all five cityrun grocery stores. He announced this first one last night at his 1001st day celebration. The store is going to be located in East Harlem in La Marqueta and the plan is for it to be open next year. Because it's on city-owned land, they will not have to pay rent on the property.
Mandani pointed out that grocery prices in the city have increased since the pandemic, but he failed to point out how city-run grocerers in other cities have failed to actually help residents.
Similar efforts in places like Kansas City have struggled to stay afloat despite millions in taxpayer dollars.
Sunfresh Market permanently closed this August after suffering from high crime, empty shelves, and unsustainable losses.
So despite over $17 million in taxpayer investments since 2016, the project failed to provide a stable food source.
But it's full steam ahead for city-owned grocery stores here in the Big Apple.
Mom Donnie promised on the campaign trail the grocery stores will be available in each burrow. He says that will be accomplished by the end of his term.
>> So they initially allocated $70 million to open up four or five stores, but now the update is that the first store is going to cost 30 million. I don't know if that's going to throw the budget out of whack and that's going to be like a consistent cost for now opening each store. It's hard to say. Yeah, knowing government that's probably what's going to happen. Now, I'm sure some of the costs associated here are with building the program, of course. But that right there kind of exposes the problem here, right? Just how useless and burdensome government is, especially in regards to providing services, especially retail and product services. I did a little bit of research and from what I was able to gather, the range of cost for opening up a grocery store is anywhere from $250,000 to $6 million. It depends on the size. You know, some of them are more like bodega style groceries and others are 40,000 square foot behemoths.
Now, obviously understanding New York City and how business works there, most likely what Zora Mamani is going to deliver here is a smaller scale, more neighborhood shop. And so, you would assume that it would cost maybe like $1.5, $2 million. That might be a hefty estimate, but you know, let's give them the benefit of the doubt that they're making a really grand, really beautiful store. I'm sure with public funds, it's probably going to be bare bones with ugly ass racks and not much going on.
$30 million to do what? Are they making some, you know, complex automated systems? I don't understand it. It doesn't make sense. You know, I have some experience in the grocery industry.
My family business is in the field, let's say. You know, it's really not all that complicated, especially when it comes to a small local shop. All you really need are a couple distributors, a little bit of staff, you know, some inventory management and stuff. In no universe does it ever make sense to allocate $30 million to open up a store.
You remember how I was saying how the Zoran Mani store is basically the biggest red pill as to why leftism and government does not work? Well, this is it. You know, we're always saying how inefficient government is, how bad they are at rendering any type of service.
Well, this is the proof in the damn pudding. This is a joke. This is taking New York tax dollars and pissing it down the freaking toilet so a bunch of useless social studies bureaucrats can leech off of productive people and pretend as if they're doing something.
But in reality, they're doing absolutely nothing. None of this makes sense. First of all, this notion that it's a furry grocery store. No, it's not. It's actually a much more expensive grocery store that again, productive taxpayers have to foot the bill for. It's a stupid freaking experiment. He's not innovating anything. He's not doing anything special or doing anything better. And it's certainly not free. And then you've got the other, you know, part of the proposal to bring the cost of groceries down. How can you possibly do that?
Spending $30 million to open up a makeshift freaking bodega. It might seem artificially cheaper cuz you know they're going to be probably buying all this inventory and losing money on it and just sending the bill to the taxpayers, but in no universe does that equate to making groceries more affordable. And frankly, again, this is a band-aid fix. It's a misdiagnosis, tackling the issue at the wrong part.
The issue is not on the retail level once the products are reaching the shelves for the most part. You know, this whole notion that groceries have gone up so much because of corporate greed, price gouging, it's ridiculous.
The average margin for a grocery store is between 1 to 3%. We're talking a volume business that has some of the smallest margins possible. The problems lie at the production side. The reason grocery prices have increased so much has nothing to do with evil grocery chains and small businesses doing smaller scale grocery. Now, it's still the lingering effects of Joe Biden inflation and all this environmental crap that's made it more expensive to produce the goods that we need on the table. Not to mention in New York City, the cost of commercial rent, the taxes, everything else. You know, you'll walk into a bodega and you'll see these really high prices sometimes and you'll think, "Wow, that's extortion." But again, the extortion is not happening at the customer level. The extortion is happening at the business level. The business owners are drowning. It's freaking expensive. The rent's expensive. Everything's expensive. And some of that is just living in a high demand city like New York City. And other elements of that are Democrat policies that make it hard to run a business that squeeze your margins. This idea that small businesses are extorting people is ridiculous. And if that was the case, first of all, these bodega owners and small grocerers would have money freaking coming out of their ears, which they don't. They all live for the most part very humble lives and don't earn that much income. And secondly, if that was the case, there would be a massive business case for other people to then come in and compete right across the street and offer lower prices. But why is that not happening? Because again, it's expensive to operate in New York City. And this, my friends, will not fix the problem. It will likely make it even worse. Because if you want to sustain a program like this, it's going to cost even more and more tax dollars and that's going to put more downward pressure on taxpayers and productive peoples. Again, these people don't understand market dynamics. They don't understand even the basics. Zoron Mandani, I am not going to apologize for this, is very clearly either a or just a bad person who's creating a cult of personality. All this guy cares about is the campaign moment where he announces, "Well, here it is, guys.
We're doing it. Affordable free groceries for everyone." During our campaign, we promised New Yorkers that we would create a network of five city-owned grocery stores, one in each burrow. Today, we make good on that promise. I am proud to announce that we will open EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE STORES BY THE END OF OUR first term. And the first one will open next year.
>> And obviously now he's using your tax dollars to distract from all of his other failures. This is the least significant program. four or five stores, 70 million bucks, which is most likely going to balloon to like 200 plus million. All for the campaign photo op.
Oh, look, I'm really doing things, but no real tangible effect on your average New Yorker's standard of living. It's a distraction. He said he was going to do all of these things. And now he's dangling this shiny little distraction in front of your face. We did it, peoples. The mandate is complete. We got four odeas recycling tax dollars back to the pauses, peoples. It's basically like a version of snap EBT. Let's be freaking real. And I just can't believe that people fall for this stuff. You don't need government taking over businesses, taking over and consolidating industries. You need government to get the hell out of the way so people can conduct business. An average person could put up a grocery store themselves for under a million dollars and provide products at very very humble margins. We already have the best possible system in place. This, my friends, is very clearly not the solution. It's more of the problem. Anyways, that's what I got.
Thanks for watching and I'll see you on the next
