Melodic Minor is the Best Minor

[00:00:00]So, it is at this point that I would like to discuss a simple demonstration which gives a good reason as to why melodic minor is written the way it is.

[00:00:09]Firstly, if we were to add simple dominant tonic harmonies over a major scale, say A major, then we could hold the dominant and tonic harmonies over these respective scale degrees.

[00:00:29]If we translate this to say the modern incorrect writing of A natural minor or harmonic minor, something is audible.

[00:00:37]Both sound ugly because of the notes of the scale not working harmonically with the accompanying chords.
