Weather forecasting involves analyzing current atmospheric conditions to predict future temperature trends and precipitation patterns. In this forecast, the Tennessee Valley region experiences warm temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s with fair-weather cumulus clouds, followed by a gradual cooling trend as a weak weather system approaches. Precipitation probabilities remain low (10-20%) for the immediate future but increase toward the middle of next week as an upper-level ridge of high pressure weakens. This demonstrates how meteorologists use radar data, cloud observations, and atmospheric pressure systems to communicate expected weather conditions to the public.

From the Tennessee Valley Weather Channel, this is your weather, live at 5.
Just our fair-weather cumulus clouds in place here on this Tuesday afternoon.
Here's a live look at the Arctic air sky cam. There were plenty of blue sky and sunshine out there despite the little bit of cloud cover we have. And with that, we've been on the warm side today.
Most of us have been into the upper 70s and lower 80s for daytime highs. And still between 75 and 80 in most locations here currently as of 5:00 this afternoon. Radar across the Southeast, pretty quiet in our local area. All the rain and thunder has been down south in the Southern Georgia, Southeast Alabama, and into Florida. That is shifting away.
We don't have anything to worry about with that tonight. Clear skies around here.
But we will have a couple of minuscule rain chances here into the future.
Mostly clear skies for the evening, a few more clouds for the overnight. Lows in the mid upper 50s with a light southerly wind overnight. And then mostly sunny skies for tomorrow with just a 10% chance of a spotty shower, especially in our counties closer to the I-65 corridor. Daytime highs tomorrow mainly into the low to mid 80s, but a few folks may hang closer to 78 or 79 here and there. And then we're back to the upper 40s and the lower 50s tomorrow night with a little bit of a light northerly wind behind that weak system.
On Thursday, we'll be a couple degrees cooler, but mostly sunny skies around and have a light northerly wind. Daytime highs in the mid upper 70s and then we shift to the mid 80s here beginning Friday. A southerly wind around may be a couple isolated thunderstorms from the system to the north, but not expecting a lot of rain with that. Partly cloudy here into the weekend with only a 10% chance of a stray thunderstorm as we head Saturday, Sunday through Monday.
The main rainfall will be off to the west of us for the weekend into the beginning of next week with an upper-level ridge of high pressure across the south, but that starts to weaken by Tuesday and the Wednesday of next week and that's when temperatures will back off a little bit and the rain chances will start to go up. It'll be toward the middle of next week. But until then, we're warming into the weekend. Upper 80s and lower 90s around here for daytime highs giving a definite preview of a summer as we head through the end of the week. For tonight, partly cloudy skies out there. Lows in the mid upper 50s. We're into mainly the lower 80s as we head through tomorrow. A few folks hanging out in the upper 70s.
Slight slight chance of a stray shower, only around 10%. And then for the next 7 days, we're mostly sunny, a couple degrees lower for Thursday. A few isolated thunderstorms can't be ruled out Friday. That's only a 20% rain chance. Those little stray thunderstorms you see from the weekend into Monday being mentioned, that's only a 10% chance. As we get toward Tuesday, the rain chances do go up a little bit.
That's still a scattered ordeal Tuesday, but we may shift back into a weather a wetter weather pattern by the middle and latter part of next week, just beyond the 7-day forecast. That's look for lace to extended forecast. I'll be back at 6:00 and 9:00 with another check of your local weather.
