This video attempts to elevate a standard local forecast into a pseudo-intellectual discourse through unnecessary jargon. It’s a lot of sophisticated phrasing just to tell people it might rain.

Afternoon weather forecast, May 5, 2026Added:
Yeah. All right, going out there today, maybe not the best day to ride a bike.
Depends where you were, right?
>> Right, depends where you were. It's really just the time of day because majority of the day today overcast showers, but now we look outside and it is sunny now in Salt Lake City. So, now it feels pretty nice at least with the sun beating on you. Temperatures have been below normal today in the mid to upper 50s, but with the sunshine I imagine we'll climb here over the next hour or two. Solitude was overcast, was snowing, no longer what we see there right now. Moab Springs Ranch, beautiful sunny skies in the southeastern corner of the state. And the southwestern corner, kind of some passing clouds, but generally mostly sunny today for St. George. Now, throughout majority of the day today we've had showers overnight, especially around Utah County and areas east and west of there. We've had more showers rolling to northern Utah through the morning and the early afternoon. We still have some showers, but the further north you go the drier it is with the exception up in the mountains. Further west, we have a cluster of storms rolling through Wendover right now.
Still some light rain just south of Provo. So, Santaquin, Payson likely getting some light raindrops on your windshields. And then southern Utah, still some showers in the higher elevations. Now, I didn't see anything coming down to the ground in Penguin to the Penguitch or uh the Bryce Canyon area. So, still mostly just limited to the mountains down there. Storm zone, we'll continue to see kind of the band that we have across northern Utah slide and kind of dissipate over the next several hours. But another band is going to come in closer to 11:00 p.m. and midnight tonight into northern Utah.
Still some heavy rain possible when this boundary moves through, even some isolated rumbles of thunder will be possible. This will shift into the southern half of the state tomorrow morning. You can still see some of those darker cells, so some heavy rain still associated with it. And then it will slide out of the southeastern corner by 3:00 p.m. and the entire state will be dry for the rest of the day on Wednesday with sunny skies for all of the day for northern and central Utah. For or at least for northern Utah, partly cloudy for central parts of the state. Upper 50s right now near 60 or 60° in Logan, 56° in Provo, 71° in Moab, low 70s in St. George. We've got a really nice temperature jump over the next 2 days from the low 60s tomorrow to the mid to upper 70s Thursday. And that's exactly where temperatures are going to stay all the way through the weekend. So, really nice for Mother's Day. Really through the weekend we'll have a disturbance kind of passing to our northeast. We're expecting to stay dry. We'll kind of just have passing clouds here or there.
And then Sunday night, you can see that high pressure is building in. It's going to lead to even more of a dramatic warm up early next week. So, for central Utah tomorrow, low to mid 60s, upper 60s in Green River, partly cloudy skies to start then sunshine later on the day.
Mid 60s, a little bit of rain possible in the morning for Moab and Monticello.
St. George, mostly sunny, low 80s. Look at the rest of the 7-day forecast, mid 90s through the weekend, near 100° early next week. Near 60 in Logan and Heber City tomorrow, mid 50s in Roosevelt.
Wasatch Front will be in the low 60s tomorrow, low 50s in Park City, sunny skies all day long, maybe a few clouds up in the mountains. Again, mid to upper 70s from Thursday through the weekend and then the bigger warm up comes, upper 80s near 90 early next week. All right, get out the sunscreen. Thanks, Evan.
>> Yes, definitely.
