[00:00:00]It is democracy in action. So, this is according to Peter Obi after he was screened by the NDC. And he also knows speak concerning former President Goodluck Jonathan joining the presidential race.

[00:00:37]Because at NDC we're choosing to do things properly.

[00:00:47]So, when we say it is going to be screening, it's going to be screening. People want to know whether you've fulfilled from the stipulated constitutional qualification.

[00:01:13]And know that everything you've said or declared is nothing but the truth.

[00:01:20]And then to answer questions that were posed about your commitment to building a united, secure, and prosperous Nigeria.

[00:01:40]Is is is it true you are the sole presidential candidate for the party based on consensus from what we heard now?

[00:01:48]How can you be based on consensus? The party opened up their expression for people to buy expression form. So, there was no consensus as yet because people I bought the form. I don't know other people who bought.

[00:02:03]So, if the party says I'm the only one who expressed interest, that's it.

[00:02:22]No, he actually he actually Uh I'm not aware of that, but democracy is about people offering themselves for service and being voted for.

[00:02:36]I'm not there in any way going around looking for who and who is contesting.

[00:02:46]I'm concentrating on how to build a better Nigeria.

[00:02:56]By first uniting the country because it's not a united country today.

[00:03:01]WE HAVE TO GOVERN THE COUNTRY BY THE CONSTITUTION OF NIGERIA which stipulates that there's A FEDERAL CHARACTER WHERE YOU have to be make sure that it is inclusive.

[00:03:13]The country must be united. The country must be secured.

[00:03:18]We want to see where mothers can no longer fear when their children go to school.

[00:03:27]When they CAN NO LONGER FEAR WHEN their children go to work.

[00:03:31]And where when we can travel all over Nigeria without fear.

[00:03:36]We have to think about how to feed the people of Nigeria.

[00:03:40]So many Nigerians today go to bed not knowing where the next meal will come from tomorrow.

[00:03:47]That must change.

[00:03:49]We must live in a country where people do not turn public assets and public wealth as their private assets.

[00:04:01]So, we must fight corruption to a standstill.

[00:04:04]And make it work for everybody.

[00:04:06]A Nigeria where like I say every day a child of nobody can be somebody without knowing anybody.

[00:04:15]A Nigeria that work for all. And our COMMITMENT IS TOTAL.

[00:04:19]WHATEVER THE LEAD THOSE WHO ARE aspiring like I'm doing or contesting say they will do it. And if they don't do it nobody expects 100% result. We want to see 100% effort.

[00:04:35]And where necessary, communicate with the people. SO, I'LL BE TALKING TO NIGERIANS. If there's killing, I have to tell them why.

[00:04:43]What we are doing to mitigate that.

[00:04:45]To ensure that it doesn't happen as it happening today, where you wake up every day in Nigeria all you hear is about killing.

[00:04:54]Nigerians dying every day without anybody caring.

[00:04:59]Politicians are preoccupied by the next election when Nigerians are dying.

[00:05:04]That must stop.

[00:05:08]Uh let me tell you it's going to be very interesting. A lot of Southern Nigerian uh candidates joining the presidential race to uh defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

[00:05:22]And some have said that these have thrown a lot of a disadvantage to the opposition because they are not speaking in one voice right now. They are not working in unity.

[00:05:34]And if you want to look at it, is it going to be difficult for individual uh like Peter Obi, uh former President Goodluck Jonathan, even Seyi Makinde from Oyo State to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. And this is the kind of argument from former vice president of Nigeria talking about Atiku Abubakar.

[00:06:00]And he's saying that if we zone the presidency to the south, we automatically give Tinubu the second time presidency and all that. But right now, the vote is going to be divided and I believe we uh if Jonathan could join the race, I know Jonathan has supporters here in the south and he also has in the north. So, it's going to be divided. And he is going to divide uh the vote of Peter Obi, uh President Tinubu, and also uh Seyi Makinde from Oyo state. Uh let me tell you this calculation does not favor any candidate right now. So, you need to go there and also prove yourself how popular you are with the people of Nigeria and all that. Uh don't think that because we have so many southern Nigeria joining the race that the race will favor Atiku Abubakar. No, no, don't think that way.

[00:06:58]And if you look at 2023 uh presidential election, you know that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu got a lot of vote from the northern Nigeria. And if you look at it, Peter Obi won southern Nigeria convincingly. This is going to be very interesting in 2027.

[00:07:20]If former President Goodluck Jonathan eventually join the race, it's going to be very, very interesting. And meanwhile, NDC has officially screened Peter Obi and uh Peter Obi has been announced as the sole candidate for the NDC. So, there's nothing to expect, no presidential primary to expect from the NDC. All right, guys. What can you say former President Goodluck Jonathan joining the race and also Peter Obi is welcoming him for the race.
