A sophisticated look at how insular dwarfism forces even the mightiest lineages to adapt to resource scarcity. It’s a refreshing departure from the usual obsession with dinosaur gigantism.

🚨THE MINI TITAN🚨 🦕 Meet Phosphatotitan khouribgaensis!Added:
Hey, so there's a new pocket-sized titanosaur. Here's your most recent paleontology news almost daily or whenever I get around to it. So, in case you don't know, titanosaurs are a group of sorapods. Soraods being the massive long neck, long-tailed dinosaurs, literally the biggest animals to ever walk on Earth. And while there were big sorapods in other groups, titanosaurs in general were big, hence the name. With certain genre like Patagot Titan getting to over 120 ft long and over 70 tons.
WELL, A BRAND NEW species was just named from Morocco that's so weird that it's changing what paleontologists know about the geography of the area 70 million years ago. Meet Phosphhat Titan Cribanis, the brand new late Cretaceous tiny titanosaur. Closely related to and resembling South American long casarians like Patagot Titan. It belongs to a group that's never been seen in North Africa before or even really outside of South America. But unlike its 70 ton 120 foot relatives, phosphatitan was only about three and a half to four tons. So yeah, not literally pocket size, but compared to how big it should be, pretty much. Paleontologists are suggesting that its small size along with dimminitive members of other groups found in the area could be evidence for island dwarfism and that this may be evidence for the endemic species in this area living on islands. As usual, if you want more information, here's the source.
