This Black Hole Left Me Speechless... | Elite Dangerous
Added:It's the second day of the journey and today I am on the way to get some tritium for the fleet carrier because we have to do a 5,000 4,000 light years jump session to the next stop, which is stop one. And stop one will be the Koi 1705 01 system with a landable planet that is 40 sevens which is absolutely bonkers and I can't wait to check that out. So super cool that you guys really want to join me on this. We have six other commanders right now on board joining the expedition which is really cool and we've been waiting here for a while. Maybe there's even more people on board. Honestly, I don't know but we've been here for a few days now and we are about to leave. But first we're going to gather some more exobiology data. We're going to do some more exploration outside of the fleet carrier with the Beluga. So let's get right into that. Not too long after I found this really cool looking planet. It had some biological markers and they might have already been taken. I'm not entirely sure but I figured I might as well scan these and take them with me. They're pretty easy to find and this is a really nice planet to check out.
But I'm on my way to this nebula.
All right, now we're almost to that little nebula over there. So there's supposed to be a whole bunch of black holes which is super interesting. I can't wait to to check those out. So just a few more jumps. All right, so I found this little planet here on the way there. I just had to check it out. It has very low G. It's a very small planet.
Might even be a moon actually. It is a moon. It's a moon of a planet.
And how big is this thing? 900 km radius which is very small. I think our moon in real life is 3,000, so that kind of gives you the idea. It's three times as small.
Uh, I might be wrong there, actually.
But, we have a bacterium electrica and fonticula. Here's the thing, I've never seen an electrica.
So, the diameter of the moon is actually 3,400 km, so it's even it's even bigger than I thought. So, uh, yeah.
So, electrica, that's pretty cool.

It's cool about this design is that it's like they come from under the ground, obviously, but like with such force, it's almost seems like they are way bigger underground than what we're seeing.
Now, we can't really figure that out, but that would be really cool if we could.
Oh, yeah.
All right, we're really close to the nebula now. We're basically in it.
And uh that system over there, S17141, should be a system with a black hole, uh which uh is going to be very interesting because those are just really cool. Uh and uh but these are all very small black holes. All of these stars essentially uh have small black holes in them. Um or it's a sun that has a black hole orbiting it, which is pretty cool.
So, let's see what we're going to see here.
All right. So, for now, this is just a very, very, very bright star, like my god.
And this is the system So, this is it.

Uh the most luminous massive main sequence stars.
Wow.
Really cool.
So, this one does not have a black hole.

Uh hold up.
Others will though. So, for example, this one.
Star types. Yeah, so this one does have a black hole. So I I just literally selected one and the one that didn't have a black hole. So let's find this one. Uh let's actually pop a heat sink here.

That's a down downside of the blue giant. It overheats pretty fast.

It's also a super red star.

So we got the really bright star and then we have a black hole orbiting it, which is really awesome.
All right, and the black hole is on the other side, so let's let's fly around this absolutely massive unit of a star.
And it should be just around this corner here.
Except it's way further away.
I must say though this part of the galaxy feels like one of the more weirder parts.
You know, you have all these extremely bright stars, very bright background, black holes, and nothing in between.
There's literally nothing here except weird business.
Um really cool place though.
And I will go to this black hole because I want to see it from close.
Um so let's use I don't know how long this is going to take though.

All right, we made it quite we made it more than halfway there. I think this >> [laughter] >> We lost half of our fuel too. So this is like a really small black hole.
As you can see, that's the cool thing about the about the black hole here.
It it So I'm going to try to get as close as I can.

The cool thing about this is it just it just it's like a it's like a reverse mirror.
You know, it it it reflects all the light behind it, puts it in front of it.
It's like this thing that just distorts light.
It's you know, it's [snorts] not actually black at all. It's just a thing that distorts light.
And you can kind of use it like some kind of weird reversed glass.
Almost.
You can You can put it in front of stuff and then see them warp around it.
For some reason I'm I can see the star through it.
Which I don't know how that would work.

In a bit. I didn't want to get any closer with my big ship because I'm not sure what's you know, what's going to happen if I actually go through it. If If If I die, which would seem logical, then you know, it's I I would lose everything.
This way, I will still lose my bio my actual bio, but I can just respond to my ship.
Um I have enough fuel, I think.
I'm just not sure.
