Now, the visit will also include the third India-Nordic Summit. The summit is expected to yield announcements on green transitions, critical minerals, and people-to-people ties. Now, Norway's Government Pension Fund Global, the world's largest sovereign wealth fund with assets approaching $2 trillion, has already invested nearly $30 billion in Indian capital markets. Now, Norway's development finance institution, Norfund, is also continuing to support renewable energy projects across India.
Defense and maritime cooperation between the two countries has expanded rapidly.
Now, Cochin Shipyard is building environmentally friendly vessels for Norwegian clients. India and Norway held their first maritime security dialogue in September 2025.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day Norway visit will focus on the bilateral aspect of the relationship, but also the multilateral aspect with the India-Nordic Summit. This will be the third India-Nordic Summit, which is taking place after the summits in Stockholm and Copenhagen, and focus will be on blue economy, on uh maritime cooperation, and other aspects, including clean technology. When it comes to Norway relationship, remember, this is the first ever visit of an Indian Prime Minister to this country in over 40 years. And during this visit, focus will be on uh clean technology, shipbuilding, space, defense, among other aspects.
Now, we know that the TEPA trade agreement came into force just last year and um this country, Norway is part of the EFTA countries, focus under the TEPA trade agreement is 100 billion dollars of investment into India in 15 years.
