When someone accuses another of intolerance for believing they are right, they are engaging in the same behavior they criticize, revealing that tolerance is often selectively applied as a one-way street where only certain viewpoints are permitted to think they are correct.

Are You Intolerant? The One-Way Street of Tolerance #shortsAjouté :
Now, the other charge though, is another chuckler for me and that is the charge of intolerant. I usually navigate that with a few questions. When somebody calls me intolerant, which has happened, I ask them what what do you mean by that? What why would you think that I'm an intolerant person? Cuz this is not a nice thing to say to a person, right?
And they would say, "Well, you think you're right. You think you're right and everybody else is wrong."
To which I respond, "You're right. I do think I'm right in what I believe and those who disagree are wrong. Okay? But that's why I believe what I believe. If I didn't believe my beliefs were true, I wouldn't believe what I believe. I'd believe something else and believe that were true.
Just like everybody else. Okay, that's the key.
Just like everybody else. And so, the person offering the challenge to me that I'm intolerant also has his or her own views that they think are right, too.
And so, this prompts another question.
Yeah, I do think I'm right. I could be mistaken. You know, I don't mind talking about it. But let me ask you a question.
Do you think your views are right?
And what are they going to say? No, I think all my views are wrong. No, of course they think their views are right.
And in fact, it's worse than that.
They're correcting me.
They're trying to tell me I'm bad because of my views, intolerant, and I should adopt the tolerant views that they have. So, they're trying to persuade me, right? That's how much they think they're right. So, I have a final question. Why is it when I think I'm right, I'm intolerant, but when you think you're right, you're just right? What am I missing here? Of course, I'm not missing anything. Okay? They are doing the same thing they're accusing me of doing, but they get off scot-free with it. It's only the Christian, generally, who is faulted for thinking he is right. The other side can think they're right all day long, which demonstrates, by the way, that the tolerance street is a one-way street.
It works for one side, it does not work for the other side. There is a being out there fine-tuning, intervening. This guy shows up on the scene and does something [music] remarkable. Whatever it is he did, split history.
