Will Murrell Force Open the Salmond Inquiry!

[00:00:00]Hi, welcome to another episode of Silverfox Scotland. Now, the whole Peter Murrell scandal is now dragging Alex Salmond deep into affairs. Um, now that sort of certain things are coming out.

[00:00:12]Um, allies of like former First Minister want Police Scotland to investigate whether senior SNP figures may have perverted the course of justice during the sexual misconduct row. Salmond always claimed he was stitched up by Sturgeon loyalists in order to stop his uh political comeback. Um, and remember that the Scottish government's um handling of complaints at that time uh was ruled unlawful and uh tainted with apparent bias was a an official finding.

[00:00:41]Uh, but now Murrell is a convicted fraudster, his evidence to the Salmond inquiry is under fresh scrutiny.

[00:00:47]Joanna Cherry says Murrell had every motive to keep Salmond away from the SNP leadership because Salmond's return could have ended his embezzlement spree.

[00:00:55]Kenny MacAskill said that Murrell's conviction gives new weight to claims of a stitch-up. Nicola Sturgeon, of course, denies any conspiracy because she denies everything.

[00:01:04]But the question is now unavoidable, was Murrell's embezzlement the whole sort of scandal or just the thread that will unravel the entire thing?
