This analysis successfully decodes the timeless mechanics of the "lucky fool" archetype in Danish cinema through a modern lens. It is a concise demonstration of how physical comedy transcends language barriers to create universal entertainment.

Englishman Reacts to... Danish Film Clip: Slå først, Frede (1965) - TogturenAñadido:
So, today we're going back to 1965.
Now, this is not the first train ride video I have watched on this channel. Um I don't need translations, apparently.
Um there's a lot of broken English, but this is from Hang on, I do not know how to pronounce it at all. So, let's go with a Google Translate, shall we? Slow first, Fred. There we go. Uh the train ride.
That looks like a cozy train carriage.
He does not look very happy.
Good dog.
Good afternoon.
Ah, you are from um over there, yes?
My name is Fred Hansen. Nice to meet you.
Oh.
Sorry.
Just because we drive on the left side of the road, which is the correct side of the road, doesn't mean we shake with our left hand, okay?
>> [laughter] >> It's all right. It's such a boring joke.
Oh.
Nice weather, yes?
Yes, very.
Ah.
Um Ah.
You want to know what I've seen?
I want to know what this film's about now.
>> That's very smart.
>> [laughter] >> Please.
I don't know what this film is about, but I'm going to assume they're trying to kill him. Um and every time whoever tries to kill him, it never quite goes to plan, just like that. That That's my assumption so far. But, you can see this is almost It's almost slapstick style so far, isn't it?
That's very uh handy.
I used a very good trick. You know, I I can some tricks up. I'm I'm writing in jokes and jokes.
You want a cigarette?
Ah, let me help you.
Here.
>> [laughter] >> What the hell happened with the [ __ ] And now I shall you pass the Let me have the whole new. I found them in Germany.
What? Very funny, not.
Oh, they're not real. They're not real.
Yeah.
>> [laughter] >> Oh, it's going to be a snake.
>> [laughter] [laughter] [laughter] >> Oh my god.
Hi.
Why are they trying to kill him?
Whoopee cushion.
I just want to know why they're trying to kill him.
But, how to annoy a grumpy person?
Do childish [laughter] jokes like that. How annoying would that be? Like, they're annoying in the first place, but imagine if you're a grumpy person anyway, and you're trying to kill and all they're doing is playing these awful jokes.
It is beautiful.
>> They are beautiful. Think or not so?
Yes.
Very.
>> [laughter] >> Oh my god.
He's very annoying. I think I want to kill him.
Now, kill him.
Going for it.
It'd be funnier if they knew the guy was trying to kill him, and that's why he was playing the jokes.
I don't even know what to make of this.
It was weird. Obviously, this is a a segment of a film, but I'd like to know what the hell else was going on. Why were they trying to Why was that guy trying to kill him?
Um It I'm trying to think It reminds me of sort of these characters, like a Mr. Bean character, like a um Oh, what's his name? Old Betty. Ah, I can't remember his name, but they sort of sometimes accidentally get away with stuff. Do you know what I mean? They accidentally bypass the bad guy. Um Ah, like Johnny English. There you go.
Mr. Rowan Atkinson when he played Johnny English, the spy.
It would be annoying, though. That's what I'm going to say. If you were that person who is who is the grumpy one trying to kill him, and all you get is this guy who doesn't take it seriously playing jokes, that would be bloody annoying and make you want to kill them more. Look, there you go. This was recommended to me. Uh weird.
Possibly of the style of of 1965, to be fair.
Little bit crazy. But, thank you so much for watching. Please do like and subscribe, and as always, social social media stuff is down there. Go to Charlie and Rob on YouTube to watch our vlog channel, where we went to Denmark not long ago, and I will catch you next time.
