[00:00:00]There are a number of fire blankets in the market designed to be used in the event of a lithium ion battery fire.

[00:00:05]These blankets contain a wide range of materials and vary in thicknesses and weights. And because of these differences in materials and construction, some blankets are fairly permeable, while others are quite impermeable.

[00:00:18]When placing a fire blanket in direct contact with a burning lithium ion battery, we have found that using a fire blanket that is somewhat permeable is advantageous because the blanket can act as a bit of a flame arrester. It can slow the velocity of the smoke coming from the battery, and it can prevent the build-up of flammable gases under that blanket.
