Short: Florida District 21 State Senate Race

[00:00:00]So, in Florida, we have an opportunity to affect a state Senate race that just opened for a special election and has been structured so that a handpicked person will get it unopposed. This happened in the last week. I'm putting the word out to see if anyone worth a damn wants to file so that the handpicked person doesn't get to walk in unopposed. There is an open Florida State Senate seat right now, Senate District 21, that covers all of Pasco County and the northern part of Pinellas County. The Pasco County Sheriff, Chris Naco or Nacho, Nocho, I don't know how he pronounces it. Anyway, Sheriff Chris is the only person who has filed to run for it. No Democrat, no independent, nobody. The deadline to get on the ballot is noon on Friday, June 12th. If nobody files by then, Sheriff Nacho wins without a single vote being cast. The primary is August 18th and the general election is November 3rd. This district has 30% independent voters who could decide the race, but only if someone is actually running.
