In international diplomacy, leaders often use aggressive rhetoric and ultimatums to pressure adversaries, as demonstrated by President Trump's repeated warnings to Iran using phrases like 'the clock is ticking' and social media posts depicting military escalation, which can escalate tensions and contribute to regional instability.

Trump Warns Iran of a Multi-Front Attack? | WION NewsAdded:
As the United States and Iran remain locked in a standoff, President Trump is escalating the rhetoric online in a social media blitz. The American leader flooded Truth Social with a series of aggressive posts and AI-generated war imagery targeting Iran. Over just a few hours, Trump shared more than 20 posts, many depicting missile strikes, military escalation, and direct threats aimed at Tehran. One image featured a US drone striking Iranian fast boats alongside the caption, "Bye-bye fast boats."
One image showed Iran covered by a giant American flag with arrows pointing toward the country from every direction, appearing to suggest Iran was surrounded. But in reality, most Gulf nations have avoided openly joining the conflict despite repeated Iranian strikes across the region. The online barrage came shortly after Trump issued another direct warning to Tehran.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump wrote, and I quote, "For Iran, the clock is ticking. They better get moving fast, or there will not be anything left for them."
This is not the first time Trump has delivered an ultimatum to Iran.
Even last year, Trump had issued a similar warning to Iran over its nuclear program. A month before the current war started, the US president had warned Iran, "Time is running out.
It is truly of essence."
Since he has been issuing similar warnings and ultimatums, on April 23rd, he wrote, "The clock is ticking." And now he has repeated the same message.
But Iran is now responding with warnings of its own. Senior Iranian military adviser, Major General Mohsen Rezaee, warned the United States to back off, saying the Gulf of Oman could become a graveyard for American ships. He also described the US naval blockade as an act of war, saying Iran has a right to response.
The war, which began after major US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28th, has pushed the region deeper into crisis. Peace talks remains stalled, energy prices continue climbing, and tensions around the Strait of Hormuz are intensifying.
Meanwhile, a new poll suggests most Americans remain deeply uncertain about the crisis. Only 31% say they understand what is happening in the Strait of Hormuz on a day-to-day basis.
At the same time, frustration over Trump's economic policies appears to be growing. 2/3 of Americans surveyed say his policies are hurting the economy in the short term. And just 13% believe Trump has made the economy better.
At least half of those surveyed believe the damage to economy could be long-lasting, with less than 30% saying Trump's policies have made the economy better.
Echoing the mood, former lawmaker and former Trump ally Marjorie Taylor Greene has predicted a political revolution in the US if there are American boots on the ground in Iran. In a social media post, she wrote, "We are done." urging an end to the war.
