[00:00:00]Democrat Senator Patty Patty Murray taking $2 million in big pharma donations and for high gas prices in her in her home state. The senators were trying to criticize Secretary Buttigieg's Great American Road Trip with his family promoting America's 250th birthday. Let's welcome back to the show radio host and author Jason Rantz. Jason, always a pleasure to see you. What when you heard this, what was your reaction reaction? We should explain the Secretary Buttigieg says he made no money from that trip, no taxpayer funded no taxpayer dollars funded this trip. Private companies sponsored it through a nonprofit in partnership. Government ethics officials pre-cleared it ahead of time. What do you make of this back and forth here?

[00:00:40]I was cheering on Secretary Buttigieg the entire time. But you know, there are senators like Murray and Gillibrand who don't ever expect anyone's going to push back against their smears and their innuendos, which is clearly intended to paint the in this case the secretary in a negative light based on nothing other than partisan uh cheap shots. And and he was pushing back using their own logic. And look, you we all know that senators uh and members of Congress in general will take money from different industries and sometimes they vote on their behalf, sometimes they're getting the money because they are doing things that they generally agree with from the the industry perspective. Like if you're going to hold the standard that a private company can't donate any money to anything involving the transfer transportation secretary's um you know, trip here. Okay, we're going to use that exact same logic against you and it falls apart immediately, which is precisely why they don't want to engage in any of the back and forth. They just want to give you these speeches.

[00:01:40]They're looking at for again a viral gotcha moment. We should point out New York Senator Kirsten Kirsten Gillibrand said at the hearing she never took private flights, but she and Chuck Schumer consistently have ranked as the top two spenders in the US Senate for taxpayer funded charter flights.

[00:02:02]Why not focus on what Secretary Duffey and the Trump White House is battling?

[00:02:07]Hundreds of thousands of things like illegal alien truckers giving they're getting trucking licenses by states like Gillibrand's home state of New York. Or the theft of cargo by, you know, in gangs that have crossed the border stealing goods like Amazon is trying to ship on trains or via trucks. That's happening nationwide. Why not focus on that?

[00:02:30]Because they're responsible for the problems that Secretary Duffey and the Trump administration are trying to fix and they don't want any attention on that because it exposes them and their incompetence. So of course they just lean on these smears. It's it's what they do each and every time. It's pathetic but it is uh consistent at least. Got it. Jason Rantz, good to see you.
