Police chief placed on leave, deputy chief resigns following 'extremely serious' allegations

[00:00:00]With Greece Police Chief Michael Wood on administrative leave and the former deputy chief Nasir Zanelovic resigning his post Friday, a state police report continues to be at the center of the conversation. The town of Greece is preparing to investigate allegations surrounding the report, which was compiled in 2024 by a state police investigator. From 2019 to 2022, Zanelovic was a supervisor in the Rochester Police Department. The report says an officer alleged instances of misconduct against a supervisor including stalking, falsifying records, and creating a hostile work environment.

I mean, we're talking about criminal conduct that a normal citizen would be charged for and it appears as though he was not charged by the District Attorney's Office. He says it appears after reading the report the District Attorney's Office then under Sandra Doorley declined to prosecute this case. I don't know if they had a personal relationship or they had personal knowledge of the facts and circumstances or The report also details questions about Chief Wood's hiring of Zanelovic. Wood claimed he vetted the allegations against him. However, um he did not believe them to be credible and chose to hire him anyway. Mislis says there could be collateral consequences of this report. The RPD officer who made the allegations against Zanelovic still has a pending lawsuit against RPD. He made a number of similar claims against the Rochester Police Department.
