How far would someone go to enter America? And what happens when that dream collapses at the border? Hi, this is Navika Ball and you're watching Times XP.
Tonight, a 22-year-old Indian girl from Gujarat is sitting inside the US jail after allegedly trying to cross into America illegally through the Canadian border. Now, no bonds for her, no releases, and possibly no future path back into the United States. According to reports, a young woman from Mehsana district was arrested in March near the Niagara country in New York state while allegedly attempting to cross the US-Canada border. In fact, according to the reports, the desperation in creating a life abroad is becoming huge. And in some cases, deeply disturbing arrangements are settled.
There are allegations that fake marriages are still being used by some undocumented migrants already living in America to lure people to them.
The idea of marriage somehow becomes temporary for the immigration paper.
Now secure legal status is nowhere, and then later reconnect with a real partner. But behind the system, the stories of fraud, exploitation, emotional manipulation, and shattered families are there.
