Now, no bonds for her, no releases, and possibly no future path back into the United States. According to reports, a young woman from Mehsana district was arrested in March near the Niagara country in New York state while allegedly attempting to cross the US-Canada border. She has reportedly remained in the custody for nearly 2 months now. And yet, this is not just one immigration story. It is glimpse into the hidden underground network that has quietly operated for years across the parts of Gujarat. A network built around illegal migration, family pressure, fake marriages, and the dream of reaching America anyhow.

Her in-laws were reportedly expected to bear the expense of getting into her American dream. But the operation failed before she could even reach her destination.
