This portrayal elegantly bridges the gap between romanticized tradition and the practical realities of modern Indian farming. It successfully highlights how communal resilience and hospitality serve as the true stabilizers in an era of rapid rural transformation.

What Rural Life In Punjab Is REALLY like 🇮🇳追加:
Today I'm exploring a side of Punjab and most people don't see. Far from the big cities and noise. Out here life moves differently. Strangers don't stay strangers for long, I was invited into homes, shared meals with families, and even ended up riding tractors through the fields. This is rural Punjab.

>> But new new build.
>> What's his name?
>> Ranu.
>> Rano.
>> Ranu.
>> Oh, very beautiful. Rana.
>> Yeah.
>> And one is Chanu.

>> Another one is Chanu.

>> Wow. This is our land.
>> This is your land own.
>> So, we're now officially in Harry's family's farm. All of this land beyond me. How many acres?
>> 8 to 9 acres.
>> 8 to 9 acres.
>> So, it's a pretty sizable farm. And at the moment, what are you growing? All what would you call this? Wheat.
>> Wheat.
>> Wheat.
>> Japatis. Many many japatis.
>> So, is this currently all all you're growing in your farm? Yes.
>> Just wait. Purely wait.
>> We gave this on lease.
>> Oh, on lease.
>> On lease.
>> This is lease. Yeah.
>> Per year.
>> Yeah.
>> Per year to get baths.
>> Not for bath but yes for the farming >> but we use for bathing also. But um recently we didn't use because the crops getting harvesting now.
>> Yeah.
>> The land got uh mudded.
>> Oh really?
>> Yes. If we give butter to them now.
>> So when is this all being harvested then? Like >> in one or two days now.
>> One or two days.
>> Yes. Because this is harvest uh can done.
>> Yeah.
>> In one or two days. This is also >> all right. So this one's done.
>> Yes. This one.
>> Okay. So this side all the wheat has been harvested and then currently this side is going to be done in maybe one or two days is all going to be completely harvested. So we come at a perfect time.
This is harvest season.
here in Punjab.
>> So, we're going over this really narrow bridge here, just a foot bridge or for motorbikes. But yeah, you've got this canal which is all man man-made canal.
What's the purpose then of this canal?
Just for >> for farming.
>> For farming just for agricultural >> for agriculture.
>> No. No drinking. They don't use this.
>> Not for drinking.
>> No. What is that? Something dead. Yes.
>> Lineage dog.
>> Oh, wow.
>> Right. We're going to be trying this ice cream pakora.
Number one famous.
Hello.
>> This is the only one in India. Only one.
>> What? This place?
>> Not ice cream product.
>> This ice cream?
>> Yes.
>> This is the only one in India.
>> Yes. 101 special >> making.
>> Oh wow. Is this is this shop famous then?
>> Yes.
>> From where people came really >> reporters >> all the way over this.
>> Wow. So truly trying something very very unique. It's a 101.
>> Oh fruit.
>> Oh ice cream. So he's got like a an ice cream in a bowl >> as presented here.
>> Oh it's like a >> Oh use like a batter.
So I'm guessing is he gets this batter, puts it in this walk, >> heats up. So I think it gets dipped an ice cream ball into the batter. It's then oiled and then that is what we get at the end. So Oh wow.
>> Yeah. So he's dipped it in this like almost looks like custard by the color of it. It's like yellow, but it's I'm guessing a batter. And then he dips it in this oil and obviously lets it all sort of crisp away the outer layer, the batter. And then I'm guessing we're going to be presented with a nice crispy layer on the outside with an ice cream in the middle.
Right. So, we've got the ice cream pakora. This is a one of one, completely unique. I'm going to try this now. We've got some nice sort of things on top here sprinkled. And then we've got a batter and I'm guessing an ice cream in the middle. So, we'll give this a little try. Wow, it's crispy on the outside.
Inside, you've got all the ice cream melting away. Looks fantastic.
Wow, that is really unique. I've never tasted anything like that. Is it like a mango? Mango ice cream?
>> Mango ice cream.
Mixed fruit.
>> Mixed fruit. M. Really delicious.
That's definitely one of the most unique things I've ever tasted. Having an ice cream battered. I didn't think was quite possible, but apparently it is.
>> Oh, what is this then? Culture. Yes, it's called gulcha.
>> What's the full full name? Not not any name. No amari. It's only called kulcha.
>> Gulcha.
We >> kind of ventured a little bit out of the village and we're here off the side of the road here. We've tried some food.
We're now going to try the culture. We just had the uh the battered ice cream, the pakora ice cream. So, we got the culture now which is all stuffed with I'm not really sure what's in it. It's like a paneer. You've got onions, a soft bread that they have toasted. What's in the inside? Is that potato?
>> It is potato. Uh chana.
>> Oh, chana.
>> Yes. You You have sauce. Uh chutney.
>> Oh, it's chutney in here.
>> Yes. In it. It's tomato sauce.
>> Tomato sauce as well. We'll try a bit of chutney on top as well. Is it spicy?
>> No, it's kind of spicy. Sweet.
>> Ah, nice. Let's give it a little try.
The bread's like really fluffy.
>> Really delicious. It's like simple, but it's good. Nice and juicy in the middle as well. All the potatoes, the paneer, onions.
>> So, we're doing homemade pani puris here now.
This is the process. So, you've got like a hard shell and then they put in a little hole and then they put in some What is this? Is this like aloo?
>> Oh, what's onion? What goes inside it?
Oh, potato and onion paste.
>> Paste. Yes.
>> And then the water. What's the water?
Like mint.
>> Masala. Masala water.
>> Masala water.
>> Yes.
>> Nice.
>> Right. We're saying our goodbyes.
>> We've got gifts with us as well.
>> You can't go empty-handed here in Punjab. Been an incredible day. a good insight into the uh the countryside of Punjab. The real Punjab.
>> As I said goodbye, I started thinking about everything I experienced today.
People here live completely different lives to me. Different culture, different beliefs, but one thing that really stands out, kindness. I was shown nothing but that. Invited into homes, fed home-cooked food, welcomed like I belonged. It made me realize how much that sense of community has faded in parts of where I'm from. But coming here reminded me it doesn't have to be that way.
