1st Day of Radiation

[00:00:00]Hi, it's Dr. Silvia Wusuwaate, and I'm here for my official first day of radiation for my breast cancer therapy.

[00:00:07]I want to give a special shout out to Mr. Shawn Gibbs for this Give Gown, which is an innovative, comfortable, colorful gown for folks like me either getting cancer therapy or having to wear hospital gowns fairly frequently. So, thank you, Shawn.

[00:00:21]Stay tuned on my radiation therapy journey. I just finished my first radiation therapy for breast cancer.

[00:00:28]Most women and or men are asked to lay prone or asked to lay on their back.

[00:00:32]Their arms and axillary areas are exposed, and then there is a revolving machine that goes around you that produces radiation to help kill the micro cancer cells. And in addition to that, you will have to take deep breaths intermittently in order to protect your lungs.
