Russia and China have signed a joint declaration promoting a multipolar world order, which challenges the traditional unipolar system dominated by the United States. The declaration criticizes unilateralism, hegemony, and external interference in internal affairs, while calling for international cooperation through platforms like the UN, BRICS, and G20. Both leaders emphasized strengthening their bilateral relationship and coordinating efforts to address global challenges, positioning themselves as stabilizing forces in international affairs.

Putin and Xi sign declaration on 'multipolar world order'Added:
It is his first trip abroad this year and perhaps no surprise that Vladimir Putin chose to visit his quote dear friend Xi Jinping in China.
He was lavished with a grand ceremony in Beijing's Central Square. Russian and Chinese anthems played. There were gun salutes.
Troops were inspected and a rapturous welcome from children.
After that, it was inside the Great Hall of the People to get down to business.
Much like previous meetings between the two sides, there was much flattery.
Putin said their relationship was at an all-time high as the pair signed a joint declaration for a new multipolar world order.
The world today is far from peaceful.
Unilateralism and hegemony pose grave dangers and the world faces the risk of regressing to the law of the jungle.
The statement doesn't specifically mention the United States, but does call out strikes against other countries and slams external interference in internal affairs.
And it does come just days after Donald Trump returned from his own visit to Beijing.
It's an alternative vision and a common theme of the pair's meetings.
They say they are committed to playing stabilizing roles on the world stage.
In the current tense situation on the international stage, our close cooperation is particularly in demand.
We are strengthening coordination within the UN, BRICS, the G20, and other platforms.
And both called for an end to hostilities in Iran with China again mentioning its own four-point plan for peace in the region.
They criticized outside influence on international trade. They didn't pinpoint the Strait of Hormuz. There's a level of declarations and the intentions of not uh following the you know the West as the only model and the only kind of center of power in the world.
And China in that respect has been very kind of stellar country because it was the only country which actually increased its tariffs when the United States tried to increase the tariffs last year. Everybody else tried to negotiate, didn't do anything.
Putin may be the latest leader to stand beside Xi Jinping. They may say they are forging a new path together, but the Russian leader is one of many visitors courting China's attention. And at the moment, Beijing is entertaining all of them. Victoria Inniss, TRT World.
