The earthquake struck near Wenchuan, deep in [music] China's Sichuan province. It was measured around magnitude 7.9 in the Richter scale. Buildings folded, and because it hit during the school day, classrooms became part of the tragedy. Parents ran through dust and broken concrete looking for names, voices, movement. Rescuers came by road, by helicopter, sometimes with nothing but their hands. But the mountains kept fighting back. Landslides blocked rivers and buried [music] villages.
