Sharks are top predators, which means if the the presence of the sharks reduce, it can affect the population of the predator [music] the prey species in the water, which can have cascading effects on the rest of the food web.

[00:02:27]>> [music] >> The big thing is and and it's on everybody's tongue is the the disappearance of of the great white [music] sharks from the False Bay area, but not only from False Bay, all along the Cape coastline. So, it it was a knock-on effect, a domino effect from False Bay. It started. Overfishing is a big concern. The collapse of the smaller shark species due to the demersal longliners. These are all affecting it amongst other factors, but these are the key ones, I believe.
