Senate advances measure to limit Trump’s Iran war powers after seven failed attempts

This Senate advanced a measure to limit the president's war powers by requiring congressional approval for any future military action. And the vote was 50 to 47 in favor of advancing. Four Republicans joined the nearly all Democrats in approving it. The Senate previously rejected similar efforts seven times. Several Republican senators were absent for the vote making it unlikely the measure will succeed on final passage.
