First responders who live in the same communities where they respond to incidents are constantly exposed to the physical locations of traumatic events, unlike veterans whose memories of combat are in a different place and time, requiring specialized support approaches for their trauma recovery.

First Responders' Trauma A New Perspective on PTSD本站添加:
Something that is interesting that we had a couple first responders share with us that I had not considered until we had first responders in the program is is they said, you know, when when veterans are injured in theater um and they come back with injuries the memories of theater that's it's in another place, another time. Whereas a lot of first responders living in the Atlanta area, they're driving down the streets of where in incidents occurred >> Sure.
>> on a regular basis. And so it's very much in in front of them. And so I thought that was something really interesting to for us to be mindful of to be able to support while they're uh through the program.
>> Yeah, it's like you're on site really working with them on the battlefield.
Amazing.
