This Village Shouldn’t Exist…

[00:00:00]There's a village in Yemen built directly on top of a mountain.

[00:00:03]This is Al-Hajjarah. Some of its buildings are over 500 years old, made from stone and carefully placed along the cliff with almost no flat ground.

[00:00:11][music] The houses are stacked vertically, making the village look like part of the rock. From a distance, it almost disappears into the mountain. The location wasn't random. It gave natural protection [music] from enemies and harsh weather and helped control access to the area.

[00:00:32]Today, it remains one of the most unique villages in the world, [music] built between sky and stone.
