No, I'm kidding, only partially. We've got Shawn Duffy here from Realworld and Road Rules. If you're an elder millennial like myself, it was Appointment Television back in the day. We didn't have YouTube where we could pull up any music video we wanted. You had to wait in the afternoon for Total Request Live so you could watch Britney Spears I'm a slave for you. Boy, that was a problematic time, wasn't it? Either way, you can take the stripes off the tiger, the spots off the leopard, but you can't remove the douchebag cologne scent from uh Sean Duffy over here. Hey folks, I'm Dave Neil, host of the Rush Hour podcast. Here's a bonus lunchtime episode. All right, let's dive into this. They've dropped the trailer for this uh road trip uh a reality show that Shawn Duffy has and they say, "Oh, no worries. This isn't funded by tax dollars." Again, who is it funded by?

[00:01:07]We've got a Japanese car company funding the Great American Road Trip. And by the way, as gas prices are set to skyrocket, they're I think predicting $5 a gallon has now hit New Jersey. By the time summer hits, we might be at seven bucks a gallon. We're in a senseless war with no end in sight. Well, here's your trailer.

And then of course he drives a bunch of foreign made vehicles.

[00:02:14]Uh, listen, okay, look, I don't care what the hell people want to do in their free time, but this is insane because it's again just like the ballroom which they said, well, it's not going to be funded by our public tax dollars when in turn it was funded by all of the corporations that are getting kickbacks.

[00:02:28]It's just so wildly offensive. Are you not offended? Are you not entertained?

[00:02:35]This is insanity. He's he's supposed to be working for the American people. Now, they'll say, "Oh, we only shot this on weekends when the kids." Who cares? It's optics. It's all about the optics. How bad this is. Meanwhile, like I said, we're in this war. This afternoon, we're going to cover more of how China now has us by the balls. We thought Iran had us by the balls. They're actually change.

[00:03:03]Trump and Xi Jinping are reportedly considering a deal to allow China to invest a trillion dollars in the US largely to build factories on American soil. And I guess they're going to spin this as a make America great type of thing. We're letting China come in and just completely us. You know what I mean? Hey, come bang my wife while you're at it. Letting a different country that we won't even let their cars in. And now we're saying, "Yeah, come make them over here." And again, look, I'm I'm I'm gen generally like a free market capitalist guy until it goes too far and it's like unfettered. And we're in that stage with latest stage capitalism where it's like, "Hey, look, we're all about small businesses getting off the ground." But you know how many Amazon factories and data centers we've got coming in in our backyards? It's like, all right, maybe a little is too much. Now, whatever you think about this, we'll cover this more. But the fact that Laura Ingram uh Trump's one of his biggest bootlickers over here is covering this and is saying this is a grave massive error just goes to show that he might not have a choice cuz Xiin Ping over there in China is telling Iran, "Hey, we're going to cut them a little bit of a deal if we can get a billion, you know, a trillion dollars of investment over here." They used to say, "Oh, you if you elect a Democrat, we're going to be speaking whatever language."

[00:04:12]It's like, well, you better brush up on your Cantonese, folks. Uh so anyway, back to this road trip. It's funded by the nonprofit organization, The Great American Roadtrip, Inc. And again, you know, some nonprofits are good, some aren't. You know, they're mainly just tax loopholes for the ultra wealthy, right? But here it is. Uh the the um production costs will be funded by this uh nonprofit. We're basically we're basically giving a taxexempt organization the right to do a Makea-Wish trip for Shawn Duffy and his family. And we're spo and it's supposed to be like we're showing you what you can go do in the great people won't be able to afford to fill up their gas tank. Are you kidding me? Gas has gone up 60% already. It's going to be up 100% when we actually run out of the stores that we have within weeks. I'm not I'm not some crazy person pulling numbers out of my ass with 25% of the globe's oil has been halted in the straight of her hormuse because of a war our president took us into. We are no better off. We are no safer. We are enemies of so many countries now uh because of all of the ways we have messed up other I mean we have we we took a giant fart in the elevator and no one can get off right now. That's what our country has done. So here it is here. And again, we'll we'll have to see if they try to wax poetic.

[00:05:58]This morning, transportation secretary Shawn Duffy defending his sevenmonth side project.

[00:06:04]>> The one time the real world star is returning to reality TV in a five-part series called The Great American Road Trip following Duffy, his wife, Fox News anchor.

[00:06:14]>> It's all propaganda. It's the same reason they had drone cameras when we masked and gagged and hog tied all of the quote unquote illegals and sent them to El Salvador. It's because they they're using this as like like oh it's the all-American road trip. No, it's just a white family getting a free vacation. Do you know what I mean? We could have given them a couple grand and just shipped them off to Disney like JD Vance did which again cost probably a million dollars with all the Secret Service they needed. But I Yeah, they shut they shut down Disney. It's like JD Vance be less likable. You know how many people are pissed off at you for shutting down Disney? But here we have Shawn Duffy doing real world Route 40.

[00:07:56]>> All right. So, how about that? Good on ABC morning show for actually covering this. So, wait a second. You mean to tell me that the companies that are sponsoring and funding this road trip through a nonprofit, those companies that are getting a tax write off by doing so are also the companies that Shawn Duffy has to regulate. Huh? Sean Duffy, on behalf of all Americans paying a lot of money in gasoline, I hope you get a flat tire or run out of gas not near a gas station. I hope that you drive uh through this drive-thru of a McDonald's and the flurry machine is broken. And I I hope that I hope that you're driving in the left lane and the car in front of you is going 3 m an hour below the speed limit. I hope that your air conditioning breaks and your windows can't, you know, roll down and you get a sunburn on your left arm. That's what I wish for you. Good grace, the grift continues.
