The video offers a powerful intellectual case for building community power regardless of systemic barriers, turning historical struggle into a practical guide for resilience. It successfully shifts the focus from external obstacles to the internal discipline required for lasting progress.

"Taste The Ancestors..." | Pyro Power HourAñadido:

They really thought they could count you out, but they must couldn't count, could they? But this is just my perspective.
I think people have a really bad habit of attaching your strength to whatever season you're in.
And what I mean by that is the moment that something changes in your life, a relationship, a job, support, stability, or comfort, people start lurking and start quietly wondering how you're going to survive without it. They start waiting and watching and assuming this is the part where everything is going to fall apart for you. But what they fail to realize is your strength was never fully tied to that situation.
And that's why a lot of people misjudge you. They think that what surround you is what was carrying you. But whole time God has already built something in you, baby. Your discipline, your resilience, your adaptability, the fact that you have the ability to figure things out even when life shifts unexpectedly. So while people sitting back trying to calculate your downfall, you were too busy learning how powerful you really are. And let's be real unfiltered. Some people only support the version of you that they thought needed saving. That's why your ability to stand still, still build, and still move forward makes certain people tremble and shake in their boots. Because they counted you they counted your situation, but they forgot they forgot to count your strength out. They thought that you losing something or losing someone around you would make you lose yourself, too. And baby, that's where they messed up in miscalculating you. But that's just my perspective. What's your perspective? Have a good day.

That was our Hump Day Hottie. Let's see what we got going on here. All right.
Cool. Let's get into what's popping, y'all. We got a lot to talk about on today.
Michael Jackson, now you guys know that the movie Michael has been like getting rave reviews and like just going it's been it's been crazy. But, apparently Netflix just got He's a Hey Hey, Matthew. Go take a cold shower.
>> [laughter] >> Um make sure you guys check out if you have not seen Michael yet, go ahead and check it out. It is a phenomenal movie and I I would That's one of the movies I think people can go see over and over again. It's just a great movie.
But, goodness he is >> [laughter] >> like I hit the live button Keats, Hit the live button. We want to make We want to make sure you're you're rocking with us live. All right.
So, we're going to go ahead and watch this this trailer of a documentary that's going on with Netflix.
Interesting timing. We'll talk about it on the other side.
Is this is Mr. Jackson's main area? Are there any secret rooms?
Police right now searching Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch.
>> This is part of an ongoing investigation.
He's the most famous man in the world being accused of the most heinous crime in the world. An arrest warrant for Mr. Jackson has been issued on multiple counts of child molestation.
Michael Jackson's trial has finally begun. I walked into what looked like a circus.
We believed he was a criminal and he was able to get away with it because of his fame and celebrity.
Michael said, "How do innocent people leave the courthouse? They let the whole world see them."
>> [cheering] >> This was a man who was unique in his talent, skill, and accomplishment and unique in his victimization of children.
When the supposed victim was on the stand, the thing that struck me was, "Wow, he's just a kid."
>> It was very moving testimony.
It really got to me.
He lured young boys to Neverland. The kids knew the combination to the bedroom suite. Their mother didn't. The defense said, "Michael Jackson loves children.
It's all been misconstrued."
>> It was our opinion that they began to come up with these allegations to get a payday.
Testimony keeps on coming. Cochran called the allegations absolutely ridiculous.
>> [music] >> I was juror number eight.
>> What has to be proven is beyond a reasonable doubt.
Can you doubt that happened?
Michael was scared to [music] death. I knew we were watching the potential demise of a superstar. I found the smoking gun. I believe Michael was innocent and we were going to prove it.
Is he guilty or is he not guilty?
Finally, we're going to get some answers.
Please keep an open mind and let me have my day in court.
Okay.
I just find it really interesting that we're, you know, after the success of this, um, this movie, that we're now putting this out. I thought that we already had litigated this. He was found He was acquitted. He was found not guilty of of those allegations. So, I'm really confused as to why this is being brought up and this this particular docu docu-series is being brought up right when Michael is probably one of the biggest movies, um, uh, and especially, um, >> [music] >> uh, musical biopics in history.
I just find it interesting to me.
Um, I don't think he did nothing. Now, allegedly, he was in those Epstein files as someone who was trying to warn and save children. Now, allegedly, that's what happened. That's what I heard.
Uh, this man can't even write That's what I'm saying. He can't even write He can't get a biopic, nothing.
Shame on you over there at Netflix. And I like y'all over there, but y'all act too stupid. I was done.
But, I'm also side-eyeing y'all anyway because of that last roaster with the with the, um, with Kevin Hart's roast cuz y'all picked the the the comedians and y'all paid them.
Anyway, let's move on.
Meta, we got some Meta layoffs going on.
Um, I don't understand what the hell's going on over there.
Uh, but you know, it's it's going to be what it's going to be.
Um, the tech world woke up to a massive shock uh today as Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, began laying off roughly 8,000 employees. This amounts to um about 10% of the company's total workforce. Now, unlike past layoffs where companies cut staff simply because they were losing money, Meta is actually highly profitable right now. Instead of a financial rescue mission, this is a massive corporate pivot where human workers are being actively traded for artificial intelligence. The The strategy behind this move is what insiders are calling an internal AI draft. While eight 8,000 workers are being shown the door, Meta is simultaneously moving 7,000 remaining employees out of their traditional departments and forcing them into brand new specialized AI units, according to reports. The company has also permanently deleted 6,000 open job listings. You know what I'm saying? Like like like you already know that we're already having like issues when it comes to the economy, we're having issues when it comes to um the damn um the the marketing or excuse me, the um the job uh markets. We're having all these issues and you're going to go ahead and just fire 8,000 people, not because you're losing money and not because you don't have the ability to support and sustain your company and your employees, but you're doing [music] it because you want to make a pivot to AI because it's going to be cheaper for you.
Like you don't really have money. It would be This would make more sense, honestly, if this was like, "Okay, we're losing money. We don't have the same amount of money that we had before, or we're we're we're having a bad year, and just to protect and cushion the fall, we're going to go ahead and make sure that we we, you know, lay off some people and call it a day. But you're you're actually just eliminating those jobs, putting it and giving it AI. And then what So, what happens when we This is why we already have issues anyway when it comes to people getting locked out of their Instagrams, and then they go and try to contact Instagram, and it takes 4,000 years for you to get your your password reset, or for you to get unhacked.
It's it's wild. I don't understand. Uh Michaela says, "Is anybody else's Facebook Reels glitching to where they're showing that your following multiple people and you're [music] not following people, and then they won't let you unfollow them?" I haven't seen that.
I have not seen that at all. I That that's weird.
Um my feeds bring up 2-day-old stuff like it's Now, now that I see in Facebook, I see that a lot in Facebook.
Like, I get old stuff like days before of stuff that that that And I I have it set to show me the most recent That's what I'm saying. Like, why are you showing me all of this stuff? Like, why are you laying off people that could potentially make sure that things are are fresh and relevant and all this stuff? Like, I'm seeing stuff from days before. It's weird. It's just stupid.
Um Listen to what I'm going to say. Did they lay off Zuckerberg? They're not going to lay He's not going to get laid off. That's his company. Ridiculous.
Anyhow, I have a question for the people.
Now, when I saw this, I said, "Wait a damn minute."
Now, I want you guys to watch this video, and then we're going to have a conversation about it, okay? And I want to make sure that you guys are sitting down.
Please sit. Please have a Please please please do not operate any major vehicle motor vehicles or anything like that. What did you say? Order for me to unfollow the the people on the reels. I have to block them. What? That's crazy.
Anyhow, all right, check this out.
Yes, my twins have different dads. One of the twins dad is my husband. The other twins dad is my husband's dad.
Both their name is Mark. I'm not going to keep explaining this [ __ ] to y'all.
So, yes, one of my daughter, her grandpa is her dad.
Yes, my daughters are cousins.
Yes, they're sisters.
My husband and my daughter who's by his dad, that's his sister >> [music] >> and his daughter technically because he claims both of them.
He claims both of them as his own. If you let him tell it, he said he's just both his kids.
He don't look at them no different. Yes, he claims both of them. Y'all ask You say they identical cuz y'all say they look just alike.
So, no, technically they're not identical.
Because in order to be identical twins, they have to have one egg that splits.
They was two eggs that kind of went their own separate ways and was fertilized during the I guess the same um >> [music] >> time frame and I just end up hap- happening to get pregnant with twins.
Okay, um what other questions y'all was asking me?
Um Y'all say how do they look alike? Um now, they look alike because they're [ __ ] sisters.
They They're still sisters at the end of the day.
And their dad dad the their dad and his dad look alike. So, the it's still damn near the same damn eggs. The same seeds seeds the same eggs. So, y'all got to do two plus two, make y'all's math equal whatever the [ __ ] y'all want to make it equal. But, I'm done answering questions and I'm done thinking for y'all. Y'all think whatever y'all want to think.
I'm done.
>> I'm good.
Um I I have questions.
Because Wait a minute.
You're twins.
One is your husband's and the other twin is your husband's father. You were humping both of them at the same time?
Or in within the same vicinity at the same time frame?
And why we scoot and past the fact that you YOU SLEPT WITH YOUR your your husband's daddy?
That is that is It's all it's always [ __ ] [ __ ] Like it it it's it's just it's just always.
Leave in the comments. Let me know your thoughts on this. We're going to go to commercial because it's always some [ __ ] [ __ ] I I don't understand.
I don't understand.
Can't take him anywhere, man.
We're going to go to commercial. I can't deal with this right now. This is stupid. THERE'S SOMETHING YOU UH UH YOU CAN LIKE leave us out the group chat. You know what I'm saying? Leave us out the group chat.
I didn't need to know that.
Let's go to commercial. I I I can't. I can't do this.

Um, what do you say? No Bentley time today? No, he's sleeping in there he's sleeping. He Bentley needed rest.
He he did too much. I'mma tell y'all a story in a little. Actually, let me just tell y'all. Listen.
Let me see it it it is it is it Okay, no it's still it's still glitching.
Okay. Let me tell y'all something about Bentley on today, okay? Now I dealt with this when he was younger, okay? When he first like you know, like came into this little world and he discovered pillows and he went to hump them. That's fine.
He had a little a little adolescence, you know, preteen, cool. But he's a grown little man now, okay? And so I don't understand why he's doing weird [ __ ] So I'm over here in the office minding my black ass business, doing my thing, on the phone with my bestie this morning, right? And all of a sudden, I hear panting. So, I'm thinking he's sitting behind me.
Cuz usually he'll come up behind the office and sit like sit by my chair, like saying, "Hey, I want to be pet."
Or or give me some rubs, you know, whatever.
This boy Uh I mean, I have sensitive followers.
Keiths, Keiths, you got to hit the like button. Or not the like button, you got to hit the live button. I think I think you're you're not live. I I think you're you're talking about something that happened in a in a previous segment.
So, hit the live button on the screen, okay? Anyhoo.
Um uh So, anyway, so Bentley's sitting you know, I'm thinking you know, he's over there, you know, sitting next to me waiting to be uh petted. No, I don't hear that. I look over to the side and then I see him humping the [ __ ] out of his pillow. Like I mean, now first of all, as a as a I was a proud father. I I must say. Like it's the arch was great, great consistency, you know what I'm saying?
Good rhythm. That's my boy, you know what I'm saying? But I just ended like he was going at it like his life depended on it, okay?
But that's not what got me, okay? I told him I said, "Hey, hey, hey, chill out.
What Stop Stop all that stuff, okay?
It's not National Geographic."
So, he comes over and sits next to me or whatever. He lays down. Now, he's chilling. Now, cuz he apparently that that that wore his little ass out what he was doing.
I thought he was about to have a little heart attack. So, then he sits down.
He's laying on the on the I'm thinking he has his belly on the floor, cuz you know, that's what dogs do when they need to cool off. I was on the phone with my bestie and then I all of a sudden, I look over and I I before I roll my chair out, I was look, cuz I don't want to roll my chair on him or on his tail or anything like that. I'm trying to be a concerned parent. I look over to the side to see where if he's still there and I see I said, "Did this little [ __ ] pee on my damn floor?" I look closer, this boy done doodled on my floor.
I I kid you not. Something is wrong with him.
And he just look at me like I'm the problem. I'm the issue.
Like I was in his way.
Girl.
Cupcake, come get your damn nephew, your fur nephew. Hello, how are you? Get Bentley a girl and have some grand children. No, I don't know. I'm too young to be a grand a grandmother. A grand Get him a girlfriend or what? No.
What you thought I Rewind, girl, cuz you my your nephew is ridiculous. Anyhoo, let's get back to the show. I'm taking up too much time.
Bentley Chronicles. Anyhoo, um Let's see here. Oh, don't forget if you want to go ahead and support Bentley's whole whole wholeations and hotations, you can go ahead and donate to this platform by going ahead and hitting that using that QR code that you see on the screen or going directly to Cash App and hitting that dollar sign Pyro Media, okay? Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe, and don't forget to send in a fire letter. You can go ahead and send in your fire letters by going to [email protected].
And speaking of fire letters, let's read one out loud, okay?
Free him, he innocent. He ain't innocent, child. Is this Is it working?
Okay, we're good. Okay, good. No glitching. All right, cool. All right, so let's see here.
All right, please keep me anonymous, blah blah.
Okay, cool.
It says, all right, um Hold on, let me read first so I don't want to Cuz sometimes y'all be I have to delete I have to not I'm not reading one One of them somebody sends in I think they were a troll cuz they sent in some weird [ __ ] That was weird as hell. I might report your ass.
Um Okay, then we're good. All right, um dear Kwame, I never thought uh success would create this uh kind of problem, but here I am. Over the last couple of years, things have finally started going well really well for me financially. I worked hard, uh took risks, and it paid off. I'm grateful for it every day, but the weird part is how some of my family has started treating me since things changed. At first, it was jokes about me being the rich one now. Then it uh slowly turned into constant requests for money, favors, or financial help. When I say no or even hesitate, I get comments about how I've changed or that I've forgotten where I came from. The truth is, I've already helped quite a bit, but it feels like the expectations keep growing. It's gotten to the point where where I sometimes avoid family gatherings because I know the conversation will eventually turn into someone asking me for something. I love my family, and I don't want money to ruin those relationships, but I also don't want to become everyone's personal bank account.
How do you set boundaries with family when money is involved without looking selfish or ungrateful? You say, "I don't got it."
That's it.
I don't got it.
I This does not I mean, honestly, if Listen, just cuz they blood don't make them family, honey, okay? You have to still earn that spot.
Don't sit down and let somebody pressure you because you doing better, you doing well, whatever. I'm not saying not to, you know, sow seeds into to good ground.
I'm not saying to to to not give because giving is what allows people or allows God to open up, you know, uh blessings and pour onto you so you can be a resource for other people. I'm not saying that at all. But, don't let somebody take advantage of it cuz at the end of the day, you're not damn uh uh uh welfare.

I get you. Uh but yeah, no is a very complete sentence.
That's perfectly well said, a cupcake.
You must be a wise one, that cupcake over there. You know what I'm saying?
That's a wise woman. Uh been there, done that. I ain't GOT I AIN'T GOT IT. I ain't got it.
Uh especially my cousin, girl, you have the same opportunities that my brother had to be educated and work. And I ain't got it.
Uh get >> [laughter] >> Go to the welfare office and tell them you don't know who the baby daddy is.
>> [laughter] >> I'm asking. So, but that's true. Anyhow, I hope that helps, Anonymous. Uh uh and I hope I hope that that that things work out for you, okay? Praise Jesus.
Oh, I'm starting to glitch again. All right, I'm just going to I'm just going to close this out. All right, let's go ahead and get into the roundup, y'all.
Oh, I think I know why it's glitching.
It's probably that graphic. Maybe it's too much. Anyway, um I digress. Let's get into the roundup, y'all. Listen, I saw this and I have been playing it I've been sharing it with my family. We It has been hilarious, okay? This is Dr. Candice Matthews and uh Quannell uh X who's confronting an attorney um named Michael Phillips following reports that he used a racial slur uh um in court. Take a look.
So, Mr. Mr. [ __ ] [ __ ] [ __ ] right here. Yeah, that's your ass. So, you the one that said it.

Say it. I bet you won't say the N-word in my face. I see you talk to black women like that by themselves. You intimidate black women by themselves, but a black man, you won't open your goddamn mouth.
>> Mhm. I dare you to say it. Mhm. That hearing aid you I dare you to say it.
Mhm.
With that hearing aid you and [ __ ] Get your old ass in there. Turn around with your bald head ass you old spot liver face looking [ __ ] Boy, I ain't playing with you.

>> [laughter] >> I don't believe that my my whole cousin don't don't even say that. And the ancestors would have been proud and they are and they are Because really, what the hell?
Crazy. Speaking of the ancestors being proud, okay? You got to taste of this.
Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will win the Democratic primary for governor of Georgia, okay?
Um she should be she should she prevail in November, Bottoms will become the nation's first black woman elected governor. Isn't that crazy? Just a moment. Just take a pause for a second.
That's crazy that that that that she is or she would be the first female black female elected governor in nation.
That's wild.
That's wild that we're still doing first as a culture. We're still doing first as as as as as a as a community.
But hey, I'm here for it. I'm here for it, you know? Shout out to Keisha uh uh uh uh and keep keep doing the Lord's work.
You don't believe who cussing. I don't believe you.
Leave her alone.
Hallelujah indeed. Praise Jesus. Yes.
All right, y'all. I had to I had to start you guys out with the with the with the with the with the the the the the our black business. I have to start you out with the good news first and the things before we get to this orange monkey.
Look, he just looks like a damn doofus.
>> [sighs] >> Take a look at what's happening right now if you haven't heard.
The Department of Justice is now expanding its sweeping settlement to end President Trump's lawsuit against the IRS. It would forever bar the government from conducting audits of tax returns filed by Trump, his family, and their companies. Acting Attorney General Top Lange was pressed about that settlement on Capitol Hill today. It also creates a $1.7 billion fund. The so-called anti-weaponization fund would benefit those the DOJ claims were wronged by previous administrations. Democrats grilled Blanche as he defended the arrangement.
Mr. Attorney General, this is an outrageous, unprecedented slush fund that you've set up.
>> It is true that this is unusual. That is true. Um but it is not unprecedented, and it was done to address something that um had never happened again, either.
Among those who could benefit are those involved in the January 6 riots at the Capitol. Lange adamant anyone can apply, including I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I this is probably one of the most disrespectful things you can you can that this nation has probably done. One of.
Um since since slavery.
Mhm. Actually, since the civil rights movement.
Because what the [ __ ] You mean to tell me that you pardoned you pardoned the insurrectionists of January 6, the same people that rioted and and and and and caused havoc, and tried to a coup and and commit an insurrection against the United States of America. You become president and pardon all of them.
Then, as if that wasn't enough, you then go and sue the IRS.
Your own damn administration.
To because you you sue the I So sue the IRS to get what I think it was 15 million or whatever or 15 million dollars worth.
And then you drop it only to come to a settlement with your own administration and your own DOJ and your own IRS.
To have a settlement that a fund a slush fund would be created for those people that you pardoned, those insurrectionists.
And it would be for them.
On top of that, you now have barred the IRS or the DOJ from ever investigating your IRS files, you or your family members. What?
This can't be This cannot be reality.
This cannot be reality.
Oh, but it is.
Oh, but it is. Because look at what how he responded to said issues.
Mr. President, our Justice Department has this new fund that was announced today, 1.7 billion dollars. Why should taxpayers pay for the January 6th >> Well, it's been very well received. I have to tell you, I know very little about it. I wasn't involved in in the whole creation of it and and the negotiation. But this is reimbursing people that were horribly treated, horribly treated. It's anti-weaponization. They've been weaponized.
They've been in some cases imprisoned wrongly. They paid legal fees that they didn't have. They've gone bankrupt.
Their lives have been destroyed. And they turn out to be right. I mean, it's uh it was a terrible period of time in the history of our country.
And they worked on it. I know the Justice Department it's really been working on it uh very hard. There's been numerous other occasions over the years where things like this have been done, but these were people that were weaponized and really treated brutally by a system that was so corrupt with corrupt people running it. And they're getting reimbursed for their legal fees and the other things that they had to suffer.
Bro.
Bro. Bro.
Dude.
You going to sit here and tell me that they were treated unfairly?
That you're basically creating a a a fund for basically reparations for these crackers?
I don't understand that. That doesn't make any sense to me. Explain.
None of this makes any sense.
And the fact that there's not more outrage on the Republican side is absolutely ridiculous to me. And it's absolutely going going to show and prove why you should be voting blue for this upcoming election. And I want to say this also.
Because what's pissing me off about the whole situation on top Well, let me I'll get to that in a second. I want to do a quick sidebar.
A quick sidebar real quick.
Because because this these two gentlemen who um are are are are uh Capitol police officers are suing the Trump administration. Take a look.
A new at 4:00, two police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6th are suing to stop the creation of President Trump's nearly $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund. And lawmakers are trying to subpoena anyone involved.
ABC's Rena Roy has the latest.
President Trump's so-called anti-weaponization fund facing major backlash even from several Republicans.
Now, we've got a slush fund for people who could have assaulted police officers and get compensated for it.
>> The nearly $1.8 billion could compensate Trump's allies who claim they were mistreated by the Biden Justice Department. A group that includes roughly 600 people charged with obstructing or assaulting police officers on January 6th. The House Judiciary Committee issuing a motion to subpoena anyone involved in the creation of the fund, but Republicans blocking that effort. Ranking member Jamie Raskin also introducing new legislation to quote shut down this highway robbery and restore basic guardrails on how taxpayer dollars are spent. These individuals all possess critical insights into Trump's self-dealing scheme with his own agencies to create this fund and reward his supporters and friends. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanchet helped orchestrate the agreement.
>> Anybody in this country is eligible to apply if they believe they were victim of weaponization. House Speaker Mike Johnson today saying Congress doesn't know much about the fund yet.
>> know in any any of the details of that settlement fund.
>> Other Republicans clearly already made up their minds. It sends a signal, "Hey, go breach the Capitol, destroy the building, assault police officers, you may even get compensated for someday."
That's absurd.
Two police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6th are suing to stop the creation of the fund, calling it the most brazen act of presidential corruption this century. Rena Roy Yeah.
Yeah, absolutely unequivocally horrible.
Ridiculous.
We need to reboot all this administration. My um prayer is that people wake up uh and go vote Democrat.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I don't understand how you how you saw the the the world, not just the nation, the world I remember January 6th distinctively.
I remember it distinctively. I I think I was liv- Yeah, I was still living in Victorville when when when that happened. I was in my office and I was like completely shocked.
Completely shocked.
You send this mob of people to go and attack the Capitol and and basically perform a coup.
And now you you you they get arrested, they get they get they get charged, and then you pardon them.
And then now you're talking about paying them off.
IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.
AND I also want to say this. I want to say this because I think this is super important.
I think it's important to know I don't want the Democrats to get cocky because y'all did this and got cocky when Hillary was running.
Y'all did this and got cocky when Kamala was running.
And y'all did this and got cocky you you we cannot get cocky in these moments.
We have to continue to put the fight like there's they should be every Democrat should be on every single news station, every single everywhere talking about this.
Because this is the furthest that we have gone and the furthest that have we have been to losing the the the the the to to the blatant grifting that is happening in this country from this president.
And you can't sit here and tell me that it's any different that it's that it's that because at the because at the end of the day, if it was Obama, if it was if it was if this was President Obama doing an inkling of this, that man would have been hung up on a tree.
Absolutely.
If this was Joe Biden, y'all were sitting there talking about uh uh uh uh uh Biden Hunter or Hunter Biden.
And yeah, that was fishy, too. But if it's good what's good for the goose should be good for the gander.
Because th- that because Trump has done nothing but get enriched since he's been in this damn administration, since he's been in this damn term.
And it's draining the country of its resources, of the cushion that we had, everything.
And it's completely spiraled the economy and our world position politically out of control.
You want to build a ballroom that nobody [ __ ] asked for.
Yet when we told you, "Hey, we have a bipartisan need for health care," and you didn't say we you said we didn't have any money.
When black Americans were saying, "Hey, we want reparations," "Oh, we don't have any money." But you created a whole basically a white reparations a slush fund for insurrectionists.
There's nothing patriotic about them.
They have They have I want all of them to go into the military and join and and get on the front lines. I bet you they wouldn't They probably wouldn't last 5 minutes.
But you want to go and and and and and and and and bum rush the Capitol?
Wild.
Wild. But you don't have any money for health care. You don't have any money for teachers. You don't have any money for children's education. You don't have any money for for for for for the homeless.
You don't have any money for black reparations.
But you have money to sue the your own administration to try to get money from to create a slush fund for insurrectionists and traitors.
Scum.
Racists.
White supremacists.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable.
All right, y'all.
Let's get into our holding space real quick.
I saw this video right before um we went live and I thought that this was so powerful.
Um and I could not wait to share with you guys because in all of this I even saw Dr. Hall say, you know, I'm tired of of of politics. I've been work you know, he's been um uh doing the Lord's work the Lord's work and and working on uh political uh campaigns in his in his area. We all are doing our part and I and I understand and I know we can get inundated with um with so much when it comes to all of the crap that we're constantly seeing um online on on on on social media on on the news and all that stuff and the constant [ __ ] that's happening all the time with this administration.
But there's something that I want you guys to constantly remember that our our ancestors uh remembered and and and and that our um civil rights parents did.
Listen to this.
Every post-reconstruction story is the story of a question.
It is the question that confronted Sojourner and Harriet when they sat down in that basement in 1881. It is the question that has confronted black women in this country in every generation since.
And it is the question that confronts every woman in this arena today.
What do you do when the conditions are not in your favor?
You build anyway.
Now graduates, the women who walked into that basement in 1881, they are not just historical figures.
They are the architecture of your moment.
Because in the years that followed reconstruction's collapse, while the country was making itself smaller for black people, it was our ancestors that made themselves bigger.
They built Spelman. They built the Divine Nine. They built the NAACP. They built the legal scaffolding that would become the civil rights movement.
And they did all of that not because the times were good, cuz they were they were not good.
They did it precisely because the times were bad.
That is your inheritance.
And I'm not going to stand on this stage today and tell you that the country was fine. The country is not fine.
We are not okay.
We are in a hard moment in America right now, and pretending otherwise would frankly be an insult to your intelligence and to your future.
I believe we are living in another post-reconstruction moment.
During your four years on this campus, you have watched rights you assumed were settled get rolled back.
You have watched diversity, equity, and inclusion be branded a threat, defunded, dismantled, even mocked.
You have watched the most powerful voices in this country suggest that a woman, and especially a black woman, may never be president of the United States.
This is not 1877.
But the architecture of that moment, the slow then sudden rollback of black progress, that is familiar.
And so the same question stands.
What do you do when the conditions are not in your favor?
It is the same answer. You build anyway.
You build anyway.
You do it anyway.
You keep going anyway.
When there were times where there were many rights that we have today that our our our that our our ancestors and those that fought in the civil rights movement didn't have.
And they did it anyway. They pushed anyway. They built anyway.
So it doesn't matter what's going on with this country, it doesn't matter what your current financial circumstances are, it doesn't matter what where you're at in life, do it and build anyway.
Because your post that you're putting on every day, fighting a good fight, talking about something that you're passionate about, is going to build into something bigger.
Pyromedia didn't start out as a network.
Didn't start out as a business. As a matter of fact, I wasn't making any money in the first year.
I didn't have a team in the first year.
But I built anyway.
And although there are people saying, "Oh, it's hard to This economy is hard and all that." You are recession proof because God said so.
You aren't exempt from that.
So build anyway. Keep going anyway. We have done so much as a community, as a culture with the odds stacked against us with the with the with the with the the bar constantly being raised.
When there's unfair advantages that were given to other races and other people and we built anyway.
Our culture is the most educated uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh Because we did it anyway. We built anyway.
There are people who grew up poor, impoverished and they fought through, got an education, built something for themselves and their their family, breaking generational curses because they did it anyway. So it doesn't matter what the conditions are. Doesn't matter what's happening. It doesn't matter what what the current circumstances are. Do it anyway.
I love you guys so much. Thank you guys so much for tuning on in.
