Farm / Homestead Tour of our BMX Racing Facility in FloridaHinzugefügt:
thing. You could take the boy out the trailer park, but you can't really take the trailer park out the boy.
This is how I'm living lately.
But it's honestly a dream come true.
This is really the place that I've been dreaming about feel like my whole life, honestly. And it's a BMX training facility. feel like I haven't updated YouTube in a while, but we bought this old dilapidated uh farm property and I've been rebuilding it for almost 5 years now. And uh everything seems to cost double the money and take double the time. But we're putting the pieces together. We're pretty much investing every single penny that the place generates back into it.
Really 100%. and the my radar BMX track. We got a couple sponsors for the BMX track, my Radar and MCC.
And we built this BMX track that uh BMXers from all over the world can come and train and uh get better, hone in their craft, become stronger, healthier.
Um we really turning boys into men out here, you know.
um these young athletes are coming out from all the way ages of, you know, five and under to top pros coming out here and training. And we've also been planting our food forest and as much different food as we possibly can. One of my long-term visions is be able to feed the athletes um who are staying at the property.
This is our first centropic row right here. We got Mexican sunflowers, nectarine, uh a mango that looks like it's smoked from a few cold days that we had a bunch of bananas, sugar cane. Uh our our neem trees look like they got smoked in the winter, but we have this malberry tree.
Oh, I have to show you this. I have to show you this.
This thing is popping off right now.
Fire. fire berries.
And it's like a superfood.
It's literally like a superfood. The amount of antioxidants in this, I can't even mathematically tell you. Was freaking delicious and nutritious. Um, what else we got growing here? This is our Barbados cherry.
More sugar cane, sunflowers, sugarcane, sugarcane, sunflowers, bananas.
Um, and we've been building RV spots, too.
Um, my my best friend, damn near brother, teammate, Jeremy Smith, he lives in there. Um, his mom's got a little spot. This is the Vanderines.
Um, MCC, they've been helping us build this place. And, um, Dex is a young upand cominging rider that is, uh, really working hard and making a lot of progress in a short period of time. One of the first things I did when I got here is got chickens. Um I kind of got two flocks going on right now. Really three. That's uh that's a whole different situation we can dive into.
But these are our wild black chickens.
I put them in the coupe. They pretty much got kicked out of the coupe and they're thriving out here. And uh then I got some chickens in the coupe right now. We're out of chicken food that we got to get today. Uh, but we try to buy the highest quality, most organic chicken feed that we possibly get. And we feed them a lot of our scraps, too.
And they give us delicious eggs. But you got to see the pig. The pig is actually pretty freaking sweet. All right, so we're The vision is to have 5 acres of BMX over there and then have um like RV slots and cabins and stuff out here um so people can come and stay and uh train and be a part of this community that we're building.
And so this is our uh west property line right here. And my idea, my vision is to plant um almost a botanical garden trail where called the 15acre trail cuz we have a total of 15 acres here. Um, and you walk all the way around the perimeter of the property and you'll just get um I'm looking for as much biodiversity as possible. So, of course, I want to grow all of the amazing natives and the fruit trees and the medicines. Um, and we live in an area where you can literally grow almost anything. But, we are getting a lot more freezes than I thought we would. Um because yeah, we we can get three or four or five days a year uh under for under 32° and when that happens like all this green looks like a war zone. It's it's pretty crazy. But you know, the sugarcane and the sunflowers and the bananas and everything, most of it grows back. But we've had some losses. This is a cabin that we've been working on and we just got this double wide amazing building donated to us um from an amazing BMX family. Um and it's just a massive building right there. That's the cabin that is pretty much done and ready to be rented. That is the the double wide right there. We got so many different ideas for what we're going to do with this thing, but short term is getting some electric and plumbing. So then on our way that we throw out here, you know, go to the bathroom. Yeah. So we'll finally have bathrooms. So that's that's a huge plus. One of the coolest things we've built out here, this is going to take a complete 180, but one of the coolest things that we've built out here is this pond.
I can't describe how much I nerd out about this pond.
So, we essentially harvested all of this dirt. So, the first couple layers is top. We moved that out of the way, and that's what those mounds are right there. And then we took all of this almost pure sand, and that's what we um used to build more than half of our BMX track when we had that my radar extension. Um, my radar sponsored the track. that gave us a bit more resources and we pretty much used every penny on digging as much dirt as we possibly can to build as much BMX as we possibly can.
But also my biggest intention of why I wanted to dig is one digging a pond is one of the best things you can do for the local ecosystem. Like it just increases your biodiversity better than anything else I can even think of. Okay? Because you know you're starting with it was just the same five six species of grasses that were here.
Now you probably have millions and billions of different little organisms that's living in that water that then you can have fish, birds, all sorts of nature and wildlife are already using this pond. So, it's been awesome to watch it come to life from literally close to a dead zone to just this like every day I come out here and there's more life. Um, and the biodiversity is increasing every time. I just nerd out about that. Um, that's the pole barn. We dream of this massive building. Um, and every penny that we've had, we've spent it into building that so far. So, as more resources come in, we'll be putting concrete down is probably the next big step. Walls, and we just have a huge vision for that. Oh, look at those birds. Can you see that? These things are rad.
Can you see? They sound like dinosaurs when they fly around.
Those things are so rad. I wish I knew the name. I should know the name. I should know the name.
I know in Texas, this is going to sound bad, but the Texas name for them is ribeye of the sky because supposedly they taste like ribeye, but in Florida you are not allowed to eat those. Those are a very important protected species.
I'm pretty sure in Tennessee they might be overpop populated, but here we want more of them and they are so cool. Just these massive birds. They sound like literal pterodactyls.
They sound like literal pterodactyls when they are flying.
Oh man, I don't know if it's a heron or if you know in the comments, just put it in the comments below. I wish I did. I should know. I bet if you said the word, I'd be like, "Oh yeah, that's what it is."
All right.
So, you want to see how close we get to him? I can also I want to show you the BMX track. I wonder if I can turn Oh, I can look at the pond.
That's the double wide. This is the big dream building. That's the trailer park over there.
Oh, I didn't even show you the pig pen.
Oh, we have baby pigs. You have to see the pig pen.
But this is all just grassland. Um I've learned actually that one of the best, fastest, strongest way to sequester as much carbon as possible from the atmosphere and actually um harvest that resource to building your soil and to building nutrients in your food um is grassland. So it's crazy the amount of solar energy that all of this grass can harvest from the sun and literally bring nutrients That's the stuff I know. It looks like we do down all the way. Not fixable.
Don't even think about it. We know a lot of smart people who know how to work on those things and you they know what to do. And it's like a it's a big thing. I don't even understand, but we can't even move it. So, I think the tracks need to be taken off. Um I think that thing's toast to be honest. I'm not sure. But look at this track, dude. I'm thinking this has been the dream. That's the house.
That's the dream, baby. My radar BMX track and we got dirt jumps over there.
We just invested in this bad boy. End of the year tax money had to move and we moved it into this that we desperately needed. Uh we haven't really been able to use it too much cuz it didn't have any seats until now. We just got our seats in there. So that's a upgrade to our life. So now that's the new road dog right there. Look at under that big old barn. You should have seen this place when we got it. I think you can go to maybe one of my older videos or Jeremy Smith's older videos. This place was literally a delay. Crazy. But I like sleeping on that tent way too much. So I figured I had to join civilization. So, we started in there and then and then I actually moved to this little trailer here and then I bought this tiny home right here. So, now the tiny home is where I sleep and the trailer is my office. It's a dope setup. Honestly, it's a it's a freaking dream come true.
Like, I feel like I'm closing my eyes at night and I'm envisioning the life in the world I want to create and then I'm seeing it. It just takes like 6 months to 5 years to see in reality. It's crazy.
But this is our pig/compost situation here. Look at this little look at these cute little piggies, dude. We bought this pregnant mama a couple months ago for like 50 bucks and she came pregnant.
She had three babies. One got eaten by something out here. But we got these two piglets just thriving, dude. Just thriving. That's mama right there. And we throw all of our food scraps in here from the house. You know, there's eight 10 athletes in the house, especially when there's RVs and campers here. Like, there's so much food scraps.
So, we don't throw any food away, but we throw all the food in here. And I go to the restaurant, like once a week, the local restaurant. I pick up all their food scraps, and that's what I feed the pigs with.
Look at that sweet little thing.
